This is a very short story by the author of the Epic : Legacy series, as well as several other short stories which he recently put into an anthology.

In this story we meet Garrett Mosely, who is in jail for crimes which make him a target for other criminals. He will do anything to stay out of their way. And he does. But no amount of staying away from those in jail will save him from his fate.

What Garrett has in store for him cannot be escaped, he has no choice but to accept it, painful as it may be.

This short story is written very well. You are quickly sucked in to the story, and what is happening to Garrett.

The moral within the story is that our crimes WILL catch us up, and the final outcome will be dictated by how bad our crimes were.

As I said this is a very short, very quick read, but it will give you a lot to think about. I recommend reading the authors other short stories to gain further insight into his mind! I can't wait to see what he has for us next.

At first I was skeptical when I got this. I thought this is going to bore me and Ill never finish it. Boy was I WRONG!! I was sucked in and literally had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep! Lol. This is a short read (which is not my typical type of read) but it is AMAZING! Although Garrett was a horrible person I felt sorry for him by the end. I don't want to say much more for fear of spoiling it for those who haven't read it yet. Justin this was wonderful!! Cant wait for future books from you!

Oh, the suffering!

In a short tale of well-deserved woe, we find a man—if I can call him that—who through vile acts lands in prison, presumably for life. One might think that this is where a normal tale ends, but with “The Punishment Due,” it is the slice of heaven at the beginning because things are about to get far worse—and deservedly so. I shan't spoil it more for you, as it’s worth getting into yourself. But I will say this: the title is apt. I think this could be made into a nice, short, one act play and one definitely worth seeing.

Creepy

This short story only vaguely answers the questions it creates, but you can pretty much infer the answers. It also basically describes the special place in Hell that is reserved for people like Garrett. I am a pretty big horror fan, but I'm a little leery of going to sleep right after reading this because it will be fresh in my mind and will likely plague my dreams. I'm not looking forward to that. I'm definitely interested in reading more from Justin Osborne though, just not right this minute.

An amazing 5 star read

".....the possibilities for your punishment are near limitless."

This book will leave you sweating. I would never want to face punishment by the Judge of the Underworld!

Was worried about reading at 11:00pm, that it might be to scary. Turns out I read it to the very end! Great short story!
