"Save your physical therapy money and read this! Lauren provided a better explanation of the physiological issues and provided more self stretching exercises than my physio. After repeated injuries from soccer, I believe these tips will help to strengthen and stabilize my already weakened core. Quick read, but very informative! Thanks!" "The information in this book has helped me deal with my decades long pain in my lower back and both hips. By following Lauren's clear advice, my pain is mostly gone. The stretches must be done everyday, but they are easily done. Several stretches are explained, videos imbedded to show you exactly how to do them. This is a well written book. Lauren's has also included simple strengthening exercises as well. I heartily recommend this little book." "My name is John Hinson and as a Tai Chi Instructor and 4th degree black belt who is recovering after having the Birmingham Hip Resurface surgery in October 2012. I am still trying to regain strength and flexibility. The exercises suggested has made a big difference in my rehabilitation. I feel more flexible and stronger in my hip because of Lauren's well thought out exercises. I would suggest this book to anyone recovering from hip surgery and considers themselves an athlete." A few good exercises that help open hips up with easy to follow demos.

I found I needed to do them in conjunction with a roller and before/after every workout to be effective.

If a minus was possible, I would give it as this is literally (yes, literally) a waste of time and money. It reads like a 9th grade book report fraught with grammatical errors, little information and no apparent editing. My guess is that a poor college student looking to make some money wrote this over a weekend, throwing in a few fuzzy black and white photos (one per exercise) and a handful of line drawings (think etch-a-sketch). Descriptions of the few exercises are three sentences long (oh ... I guess four sentences if you count "Repeat."). Each exercise is followed by a youtube link.

One more example: the Diet for Hip Flexors section is simply a list of foods (including MARSHMALLOWS?) with a sentence or two for each - as an example - "Celery: It is a veggie that is very good in hydration of the body." Yep, no joke here ... that's it.

After reading through (more from a perspective of shocked interest that something like this was actually published), there was nothing in here that couldn't be found on the internet in less than 3 minutes, and without all of the filler contained in this book, would actually provide much more information in less time, and presented with much more rationale, explanation and application.

Finally, I just have to laugh now when going back to look at the title/subtitle ... Tight Hip Flexors: The Ultimate Guide to Curing Hip Flexor Pain ... simlpy hilarious ... "Ultimate"? I think the author is also delusional.

The only names associated with this book are BJG Enterprises and JCGreetings.com, the two organizations included, along with Matt Andriano, the author. My guess is that they simply print submissions for any author to sell? Is that why there is a very odd and lengthy disclaimer at the front of the book under BJG Enterprises copyright?

Save your money and find another "book".
