Bonny Fawn is an Emerita Professor of Business and suspense author. Over twenty-five years in academia her work often included reviewing organizational cases—some of which contained layers of fraud. Hence, the inspiration of her debut novel THE CLIENTS was born. Truth can be stranger than fiction.

Bonny spends her days thinking up more twisted plot lines, often influenced by real events, and walking her rescue dog, Mr. Kirby, who is beyond reproach. He turns up his nose at liars and cheats. Of course, Bonny doesn’t have the heart to tell him she wouldn’t have much to write about without them.

Thank you to @letstalkbookspromo and @bonnyfawn_author for having me on this tour of The Clients.

The Clients is a multiple POV story, mainly told from Mel’s POV. During 9/11, Mel saw her chance to escape and took it. Now, 20 years later, her ex husband, Sid, is back in her life, demanding he hand over the list of clients he hid with her. Not knowing what he’s talking about, she agrees, just to help Isla, her stepdaughter she was forced to leave behind when she made a new life for herself. Now, Mel is on the hunt for answers. Having lived a majority of her life as a con, she can’t trust anyone, but Mel will have to open her heart if she wants to get out of this mess alive.

I really enjoyed this fast paced story. I loved the multiple POVs. It almost felt like I was watching a movie rather than reading a book. I think this would be excellent as a limited series! I also felt that they were written well. I especially hated Niles, and that was all thanks to the writing of his character. I didn’t see all of the plot twists coming near the end. I just wasn’t expecting quite that many! Again, it would be excellent to see as live action!

Mel Green escapes - under the disorientation of 9/11/2001. Narrowly escaping death, Mel takes the gift, creating her a new identity and life. Away from life of a con, daughter of a con, wife of a con. Her only regret - Isla, her young stepdaughter.
20 years later - Mel can't help but attend Isla's Yale graduation. Her husband, Sid - of course, recognizes her, pulling her back into the con. The arms dealers in business with Sid were the financial backer for 9/11. The Feds are breathing down Sid's back - putting them all, including Isla in danger.
Determined to help Isla, compensating for 20 years of lost contact, Mel gets sucked back into the life.
And it is a glorious, treacherous, backstabbing event. Shifty double dealing characters, a blossoming romance and creepy villians. Very well done.

I am joining @katieandbreypa and @bonnyfawn_author today to tell you all about…

The Clients by Bonny Fawn! I had the pleasure to read this book this month and here are my musings.

A sudden crisis of conscience has Mel Green, a con artist who faked her own death during 9/11, coming to see her step daughter graduate from school to explain that she is really alive.. Problem is, she bumps into her husband… An abusive man…. A con man himself that got himself buried deep unbeknownly with terrorists. Mel dying and the towers collapsing did him a favor… Until now.
Now he can get the list of “clients” from Mel’s locket and save himself by flipping it to the FBI. He can start a new life but the clients want their information back and they will stop at nothing to retrieve it.
Can Mel save herself and her stepdaughter before it’s too late?

The synopsis of the book had me intrigued but I wasn’t overly jazzed to start it…. I WAS WRONG!! This book spanked me in all the right places and had me begging for more. The build up was geniusly written and I could feel the prickling of excitement under my skin.
Mel started a new life with stolen funds from her ex and was living a decent, but solitary life. The one thing missing was Isla. The stepdaughter she left behind when she made the decision to run for her life.
When Riley, the man she works with and had a few dates with, shows up she has now put him in immeasurable danger along with herself.
I liked the character development because it didn’t spend a lot of time filling me in on the who and the why but more on the dynamic of the players whose POV we get to see. I usually don’t like so many POVs but I can actually see why it was necessary here and for the most part, Mel was the main protagonist.

I really enjoyed that you never really knew what was going on. I always felt like we were kept in the dark on purpose and I loved every blinding second of that!

Absolutely 4.5 solid stars for me! Great suspense book! If you love a fast paced, kick you in the crotch thrilling ride, then this one has to be your next read.

"How do you tell someone you love you’re not dead?"

Filled with a desperation to get out of her con artist/stock broker life that is so intricately bound to her con artist husband, she decides to fake her death when she barely escapes the horrible day the twin towers were destroyed. (BLURB by author next) Living incognito, Mel assumed a new identity as math teacher Mandy Gates in Hailey, Idaho. Two decades later, at the edge of the northern Rockies, in a warm, and welcoming community, Mel regrets her secret past and has developed feelings for her new colleague, substitute teacher and part-time rancher, Riley Brown, who knows nothing of her real history. And she knows nothing of his.

Then her former husband discovers her alive and shares bad news. Recent FBI investigations reveal Mel and her ex were conned. Their investors in 2001 were using them to launder money for terrorists. The file Mel fled with years ago holds the key. These “clients” now want that information buried—right along with Mel and her estranged husband. Will Mel find the file she misplaced, come out from the shadows, and provide evidence to the Feds? Or will the clients find her first?

Another lovely book I received in exchange for an honest review from @katieandbreypa and from the author @bonnyfawn_author. I felt this book had a perfect amount of intensity in some parts and completely drawn out in others parts, almost to the point it could've been 100 pages less, But I really enjoyed the characters and the plot twist at the end! I really loved the concept of this book, and though i wish it would've expounded more on aspects of 9/11, I understand what a difficult subject that is to center your story around and i think she did a good job! Thank you so much for sharing this book with me!

I give The Clients by Bonny Fawn ⭐️⭐️⭐️.🌟

If you have connections to 9/11 please be aware that this book could be very triggering to you. It also contains things to do with corruption in business and police.

Pros:

The concept of the story is very believable. We know that people have used the tragedy of 9/11 to hide things and become people they weren’t before. This book gives an interesting glimpse into one potential reason a person would have done this.

I appreciate that while the female characters were strong and independent they didn’t have to be man hating. Too often now the only way a female character can seem strong is to hate all men and try to destroy them. Here, women do what they need to for survival, both their own and so those they care for might be safe.

Cons:

I don’t think this will be an issue for most people but I have a long seeded hatred for first person, present tense writing. Adding in multiple points of view destroyed the enjoyability for me. Again, this is a me issue not something that will hinder most readers. For me, first person point of view takes away the showing of a scene. You get basic details if the person is paying attention but the scene is rarely set.

This was such an action packed book that I was never bored with it! I could totally see this coming to a screen on TV.

Mel is a con woman. She supposedly died on 9/11 or so she's led people to believe since then. The prologue describes why she was able to escape the terror of that day. But she also ran away with important information that she stole from her husband's company.

Years later, she is discovered to be alive and so there starts the many lies to be uncovered and the people who you have to decide who are being truthful and who's a fraud.

I did like Mel. She was gutsy and brave. She did all she could to protect her stepsister Isla from afar. There were so many twists that it kept me on my toes!

3,5⭐ - it was good

I really enjoyed this. The writing kept me interested enought to keep going, even though the story itself wasn't to my own taste, so a real page turner.
And some twists I really didn't see coming so points from tha!

A crime/police heavy plot, action and high tension at times, so for fans of the genre I'm sure it fits well 💯

A good thriller with short chapters that keep you turning pages. There's plenty of action and suspense and the twists (plural) at the end were surprising but fitting. With the multiple POV 's I had to go back to the chapter heading to see whose voice I was reading but it becomes obvious after a few chapters and is a reminder to pay attention to the chapter headers. This is a well written novel and is one that I can comfortably recommend.

A huge thank you to KatieandBreyPA and the author for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This one is action packed from start to finish!

Mel Green was a con artist. She was a Wall Street shark. She was married to a very wealthy man, who was a subpar husband, to say the least. The best thing about her husband was his daughter, Isla, whom Mel loved entirely. Mel was at the World Trade Center on September 11th. She made it out alive and well, but who actually needed to know that? As far as everyone who knew her was concerned, Mel Green was presumed dead on September 11th. If only they knew.

Mel fled New York for the small town safe haven of Hailey, Idaho, where she took on the identity of Mandy Gates. She quietly taught math for over twenty years, until her past finally caught up with her. When her husband’s firm realizes that they have been conned, and that their investors in the early 2000s were actually funding terrorism, they know they must stop at nothing to get the only copy of the client list, which happens to be in Mel’s possession. The clients don’t care who they have to take down–they’ll do anything to get the file.

Action-packed from cover to cover, The Clients is a thrilling novel that gave the reader twists and turns for days. This book is an action movie in literary form! If that’s your thing, you’re going to love this one. As a reader, it is always the characters that pull me into a good novel. Mel/Mandy gave me Tony Soprano vibes. We knew we weren’t supposed to support the bad things she’s done/did, but we also can’t help but cheer her on. Is she a con artist? Yes, to her core. Will she also risk life and limb to make sure that her step daughter is ok? Also yes. Fawn did a stellar job of creating a cast of supporting characters who were entirely developed, dynamic individuals. You know the feeling when you’ve gotten about half way through a book, and you still can’t keep track of which characters are which? That didn’t happen to me once in this novel.

Fawn is entirely talented at writing in a suspenseful, action packed way. Without overly explaining and ruining the moment, she was able to make me realize something was not quite right in multiple high pressure, intense scenes. I did, at times, find the twists and turns to be a little unbelievable, but, I had to remind myself that this is a work of fiction. I love a good action film every now and then, but I’m not generally inclined to read an action filled book. I find the nuance of film allows for a more suspenseful and intricate experience with an action packed thriller. Fawn shattered those thoughts for me. She really is a truly talented author.

Read this if you

*Like books influenced by real events
*Enjoy reading books written by James Patterson or Lisa Gardner
*Are fond of multiple POV’s
*Adore fast paced, action packed, suspense

Author Bonny Fawn enjoys writing suspenseful novels full of twisted plots which are often influenced by real events. Mel Green is a New York Stockbroker married to an abusive husband. When she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time on September 11th, she uses this opportunity as an escape route from her everyday life. Taking on a new identity as a schoolteacher she meets Riley, falling in love with him.

When an opportunity arises, Mel returns to her hometown to see her stepdaughter she left behind many years ago graduate. At graduation, Mel runs into her ex-husband who did not know she was still alive. Many secrets unfold causing Mel to hunt for a list she didn’t know existed. A list that holds many secrets and answers.

The Clients was told by numerous POV’s dragging the reader right into the middle of the situation. My favorite character was Mel. She was brave and stood her ground. Fawn’s writing style drew me in immediately allowing me to fall in love with each character for different reasons. There were many plot twists throughout that had me never knowing exactly what would happen next, continuously on the edge of my seat. I would love to see this one made into a movie.

Thank you, @katieandbreypa and @bonnyfawn_author for providing me with a complimentary review copy. In no way has that influenced my voluntary review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is very good. It is the first novel by this author. It will be available on Amazon on August 16.

The story is action packed and told in many points of view with numerous twists. I was over whelmed when I saw the number of chapters. With short chapters and fast paced action, it was a quick read.

The main character, Mel Green, is a stockbroker and con artist. She faked her death after 9/11 and left with the millions she stole from investors to escape her abusive husband. She has relocated in Idaho and working as a high school math teacher. Twenty years later her husband has discovered she is alive. Her husband, Sid, has informed her that they were conned by their investors. The investors were laundering money for terrorists. Now Sid wants the list of their investors that Mel has. The FBI would like the list too. The investors want the list destroyed and not made public.

I really liked Mel and was rooting for her throughout the book.

It is difficult to determine who is telling the truth and who is lying. Who is a friend and who is a foe. There is a lot of double crossing.

This story has something for every reader - a little romance, suspense, and action. This story would make a great movie!

Can a person really disappear?
Can you escape your past?

Outstanding! Compelling story full of twists, turns and more surprises!

After several decades of living a peaceful, tranquil life in a small Idaho town the past comes back to haunt Mel who was presumed dead after the collapse of the Twin Towers in 2001. The past comes back to terrorize her, upsetting her serene life, placing her front and center with a life she thought she had left behind. Not only is the past coming back to terrify her, but everyone she has left behind is now after her – for what, she’ll have to figure out soon or die trying. This story is packed full of twists and turns and when the pieces are starting to come together for the reader there is another violet shift and new, previously unknown pieces are now front and center. The story line is fast paced, and enthralling, and it kept getting better and better until the multiple surprise twists that are exposed in the final few chapters!

After reading the first few chapters I was drawn to the characters, the intricate plot and Fawn’s style of writing. It very much felt like I was reading a work of one of the masters of suspense of the likes of Grisham, or Baldacci. The book was extremely engaging and I devoured the pages in short order! As a reader I was amazed at the way the author provided resolutions to the many fragments left hanging throughout the story. I am now anxious to read the next release by this very talented author. Well done! I was provided a copy of this book by the author, and am leaving this review that reflects my opinion of the book voluntarily.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟BOOK TOUR REVIEW

Super excited for my stop on the book tour for The Clients by Bonny Fawn. Thank you to the author, for the gifted ARC, and to Lets Talk Books Promos for the invitation.

A must-read and the first book I’ve read about a missing person from 9/11 and I thoroughly enjoyed it…romance, and all! This suspenseful story started a bit slow but once the tempo picked up, I couldn’t stop reading.

Mel, who has followed in the footsteps of her con-man father, takes advantage of the tragedy on 9/11. Funded by stolen money, she takes a new identity, far from her life conning clients in Manhattan. Mel is now Mandy, a teacher in Idaho. Years later, regrets take her back to Manhattan and she’s found out. On the run, joined by one of her Idaho coworkers, the romance is gingerly sprinkled in. I’m not a romance fan but I felt that the romance skillfully enhanced the story and earned the book a rating of 5 stars.

So happy to discover another author to keep my eye on and…the location of the Rockies, is a bonus!

Mel Green, a stockbroker with a secret, was in the World Trade Center on 9/11. At least that was what everyone presumed. In reality, she was outside the buildings that morning but saw the opportunity to escape her life of crime and abusive marriage. Her only regret was leaving her young stepdaughter, Isla.

With millions of stolen dollars hidden in offshore accounts, Mel builds a new life as teacher Mandy Gates in Hailey, Idaho. She even begins to fall for Riley Brown, a long-term substitute who just started working at her school.

Filled with regret, she risks her new identity by attending Isla’s graduation at Yale. Despite her efforts to disguise herself, her ex-husband, Sid, finds her and reveals that a new investigation by the FBI revealed the clients they’d stolen from had ties to terrorist groups. He believes that Mel absconded with a list of investors—investors who will kill them and Isla to protect their identities.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 by Bonnie Fawn is a quick paced cat-and-mouse chase with lots of double crosses, distrust, tense moments, and stand-offs. I liked that Fawn, a former business school professor, rooted the original crime in finance rather than against persons. I thought that some of the characters were too stereotypical, almost caricatures, though.

This book is out now and available on Kindle Unlimited. Thanks to @bonnyfawn_author and @letstalkbookspromo for including me on the book tour and for a gifted copy of the book.

This book had been catching my interest and so I finally cracked it open and was captivated from the first page as we are back on a date that everyone in the world will never forget, it doesn't matter what country you were in and where you were. It is a date that you will always remember where you were when you heard the news. The date was September 11th, 2001. The day that the terrorists hijacked the planes and crashed them into the Twin Towers/ World Trade towers in New York. This date and incident held that moment Mel Green decided to finally leave her abusive husband and start new as she realized if she didn't go now, he would eventually kill her. For twenty years, Mel changed her name and lived as a teacher named Mandy Gates in Idaho, and then she fell in love with a substitute teacher called Riley Brown. Life was perfect and then she did something that would thrust her back into her old life. She went to her stepdaughter Isla's Yale graduation and ran into her husband Sid Green. Mel has something that he needs she's had it for the past twenty years without knowing - a client list that connects Sid to Terrorism. With the FBI, Terrorists, and who knows who on Mel's tale, who can she trust to keep her safe? Find out in this legal thriller that reminded me of authors like Lisa Scottoline and James Scott Bell.

This book did not grab my attention at all. In fact, it took approximately 35% to even become interesting, and over 55% to grab my attention. First of all, the author uses my least favorite point of view, which anyone who reads my reviews knows is the first person present. It feels very awkward to me and inhibits the flow of the story, in my opinion. Then, each chapter moves from the perspective of one character to another, even though sometimes more than one chapter will be from the same character's point of view. This creates a very choppy and chaotic feel to the story. It made it even more difficult to follow. Also, it took the longest time for me to even begin to connect to any of the characters. None of them appeared to have a redeeming character trait among them. I will admit to discovering way into the book that a couple of them did have one or two redeeming characteristics.

In the pro column, there was a good bit of action and plenty of red herrings to keep the reader from figuring out who all the bad guys were. The one character that I really like is Isla. I wasn't sure if she was going to turn out to be a typical spoiled, rich, brat, but Ms. Fawn surprised me with this character. She really comes through when she's needed.

I received a review copy from the author via BookSirens and this is my honest opinion.

Fast paced, suspenseful and plot twists galore.

The Clients was a thrilling read that had me hooked to the point where I stayed up past 3am cause I just could not put it down.

The plot was fast and cloaked in suspense. Full of plot twists, Fawn skilfully misdirects the reader with the multiple POVs and makes you distrust every character. And while most of the plot twists I saw coming (which I absolutely loved and think is a testament to Fawn’s writing) some really did take me by surprise!

As well as excelling with the plot, Fawn’s characterisation was brilliant. Mel, the main character, independent and headstrong, was equal parts frustrating and likeable. It made her feel incredibly real. Her romance with Riley, the pace and development against the backdrop of the plot, was well written and I think the multiple POV really helped to further it.

I would have liked to see more of a development on Mel’s background - e.g, more of Mel’s life in Hailey and her marriage to Sid (the use of flashbacks for when she was briefly talking through her life was effective and it would be a brilliant way to incorporate this).

Regardless, The Clients was a joy to read, would make an amazing limited series/film and I look forward to Fawn’s next work.

Would recommend for those who enjoy reading fast paced action and suspense!

💭
It started heavy—the 9/11 World Trade tragedy. Right off prologue. Wherein you survived 9/11 but rather made everyone believe you didn’t. Faking your death, new identity, and moving to a new state. But always looking over your shoulders bcos you know what you did in the past and eventually starts to hunt you.

This one’s action-packed, from car chasing, escaping a lunatic while riding horses during snowstorm, involvement of terrorist and so on and so forth. It got me suspecting every person who get close to Mel, every chapter got me thinking like—are they connected to the one looking for Mel that wants her dead. Even the FBI, aren’t excuse on my radar of trust issues—what money and greed can do to people. There are just some parts wherein I find it a little long (even though it’s just a short chapter) bcos of too much chit-chat, especially Niles or maybe bcos I just hate him so much. He’s disgusting!! And yes, see, the author did great with the characters. Points on that.

Overall, this book was edgy but has slight romance in it. The thrilling twisty scenarios got me hooked but at the same time questions formed in my head hence were answered near the end of the story.

Releasing on Amazon today, August 16. So get your copies now, loves! Congratulations @bonnyfawn 🥂🤍

Fast-paced and a real page-turner, The Clients, by new author, Bonny Fawn will have you putting your phone on silent and hiding the television remote!

Mel, Sid, Riley and Isla, are our four main characters and four very different people, some with very interesting pasts. Just why would someone survive 9/11 but pretend they hadn't, take on a new identity and move to a new state?

A thriller, mystery, crime and romance novel, all rolled into one and a story that will have you shouting at the book and telling the characters not to do that! I wasn't sure about Mel to begin with but I think her heart is in the right place and she wants to make amends for things she's done in the past that she isn't proud of.

If you fancy trying out a new author and you want something which will have you catching your breath at many moments then check out The Clients by Bonny Fawn, out on 16 August 2022

Mel chooses the perfect escape. She was at the World Towers on 9/11, and she seized the opportunity to leave her life and start anew. Fast forward about 15 years and she is watching her stepdaughter graduate from college. Mel has had to keep her distance but never forgot about her stepdaughter. Mel is recognized and brought back into the life she escaped on 9/11.

The idea of this book is intriguing. Leaving a life you are not happy with an really starting fresh. The author did her research into con artists because they are a huge part of the book and their thoughts are explained so well. It’s told from multiple POV so you can see inside the characters mind. The book started off a little slow for me but picked up quickly. I read the book in two days because it was so interesting and I couldn’t wait to see how Mel gets herself out of her past life!

Presumed dead after the Twin Towers attack in 2001, stockbroker/con artist Mel Green, in reality, escaped the disaster. She departed Manhattan with stolen millions from unsuspecting investors. Living incognito, Mel assumed a new identity as math teacher Mandy Gates in Hailey, Idaho. Two decades later, at the edge of the northern Rockies, in a warm, and welcoming community, Mel regrets her secret past and has developed feelings for her new colleague, substitute teacher and part-time rancher, Riley Brown, who knows nothing of her real history. And she knows nothing of his.

A slow start but the action soon ramps up. The book has a few twists and turns with not everyone being who you thought they were! You never fully know who to trust and just as you start to trust one person everything is flipped on it’s head.

A good read for anyone who likes action and suspense!

If you love a fast paced action novel, then this book is for you. The events of 911 are the perfect cover for someone wanting to disappear and start again with a clean slate. Mel Green manages to keep her head down for over a decade before a simple slip up has her running for her life.

The book is well paced - lots of action without overwhelming the reader. I like the use of multiple points of view which gives the reader a better understanding of the characters motivations.

There was one plot hole thing that is bugging me. I am not sure how Sid found out that his presumed dead wife was still alive and going to be at their daughters college graduation. Maybe I missed something? If you have read the book, I would love to hear your thoughts on that.

This book is a perfect rainy day read .

I was quite intrigued by the idea of this one and it didn’t let me down. The actions kicks off immediately and it keeps up a cracking pace the whole way through. There were a couple of times I thought events were a bit over the top and this was one I needed to suspend reality for but they turned out to be all part of the many twists and turns.

Told from multiple point of views- I liked getting insights from all the different players in this one- both the goodies and baddies. Loved Mel as a strong female main character, I would have like a bit more of her back story earlier on. There were also a number of characters I loved to hate. A solid debut novel.

I was drawn to this book by the summary. It drew me in and wanted to read it. Which I do have to say that in the beginning my attention was focused on the story, but it wavered and after a little while, I did find myself becoming easily distracted. The pacing from then on for me was slower. This is a good read. I was not fully engaged as much in the characters, but I could see this book being turned into a television series. It did have a good storyline.

Although I will say that the story did seem to pick up again at about almost the halfway point. From here the story stayed at a higher intensity. This did help a lot for me. While this book may not have fully done it for me, I am in the minority as may other readers really enjoyed this book. So, pick it up for yourself and try it.

Oh my goodness, The Clients is so action packed and fast paced. The action just never stops and it’s very hard to predict what is going to happen. I really liked the main character, Mel and I was so nervous to find out what was going to happen to her that I actually finished this book in two days!

The novel twists and turns like any good thriller and the story is told from different points of view which really helps keep the tension going. If you love action packed thrillers then this really is the book for you.

I received an ARC of this novel. This review is my honest opinion and is written voluntarily.

Interesting plotline not a regular psychological thriller, well weaved and beautiful placed twists.
Book starts with Mel caught in the 9/11 attack and she decides to run away from her current life with the money she and her husband stole from "bad actors".

Mel's step daughter Isla is graduating like Yale as Mel did with same specialization. Mel has left the old life behind but her decision to see Isla graduate turns her world upside down. Mel's ex husband is blackmailing her to giveaway the information she has stolen with the money. Will Mel be able to leave her past behind or it will come back haunting her???

Dual POV makes the story more engaging as the parallel worlds are going on.

The Clients grabbed me from the beginning with its with alternating points of view, thriller like pace and strong female main character. I loved the interesting premise of the book and the complicated situation that Mel found herself in. This one went by really quickly as I found myself needing to know what happened next. The Clients is a quick page turner from beginning to end with suspense, crime,
cons and some romance. I definitely recommended this fast paced, thrilling read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to the author and Katie and Brey PA for my copy to review.

Con Artist, Mel Green, is presumed dead.

Two decades later she turns-up up at her step-daughters college graduation. How do you tell someone you love you’re not dead?

Mel’s past comes crashing into her now after she learns her locket harbors a client list the FBI wants to catch terrorists. These “clients” want this list destroyed and won’t stop until they have what they want including Mel dead.

Whose can she trust to help her get the information into the right hands? Her only option until she knows who, is to run…The Clients is an intense, fast-paced drama told from the points of view of the good guys and the bad guys.

Thank you Lets Talk Books Promo and the author for the opportunity to read and review this novel.

Trying to find a way to leave her abusive husband Mek knew would be hard. He would track her down. Her only regret would be leaving her precious step daughter. In the blink of an eye chaos surrounded her. The twin towers! Now she would vanish.
Twenty years later her world came spiralling downward again. Her past reared its ugly head. People were trying to kill her. She trusted no one including her boyfriend.
Action packed drama, mystery, suspense, betrayal, forgiveness and love will keep you intrigued until the end.

This twisty novel opens boldly when a woman uses the 9/11 tragedy in New York City to disappear. Of course, the protagonist Mel/Mandy's past comes back to haunt her and give her a compelling reason to return to "life." The action-packed story follows a strong female lead with a shady past, but her gray morality doesn't take away from the narrative. Rather, the characters are all multi-dimensional and add to an exciting story.

Some reviewers didn't care for the present tense/first-person narrative, but that's a personal choice for readers, and I didn't feel it detracted in any way. Kudos to the author for her compelling thriller!
