Devoted to Drew

Rate this book
THEY WERE WORLDS APART, CONNECTED BY A BOY…

Why would a former football star like Logan Murray pay attention to her? Bianca Wright was a far cry from the beautiful women she'd seen him with in the tabloids. He was just being kind. Or even worse—felt sorry for her. He knew she was a widow with an autistic son. That had to be too much baggage for any man, and Bianca wouldn't accept anything but the best for her child. But if Logan could use his connections to match her son Drew with a therapy dog, she'd swallow her pride and accept his help.

And yet, after fifteen minutes with Drew, Logan seemed to "get it" better than Drew's own father ever did. Had Bianca misjudged him? Maybe he had hidden depths. She would've liked to find out, but that was a risk she just wouldn't take…not when her precious boy was involved.

This book was a great read. I really liked the characters of Drew, Bianca and Logan. Bianca was quite the independent woman out of necessity. I also liked that Bianca worked hard with Drew to help him on his way to achieving his potential. I really liked that Bianca put Drew first and foremost. I also liked that Loree made it clear several times that all children with autism are not the same!

When I read the prologue, I wasn't sure where we were headed. As the characters and their relationship grew, I figured it out. The relationships between all the characters helped me understand who Logan and Bianca were and where they came from. I liked rich characters.

I made sure that I had plenty of time to read this book once I started it. I knew it would be an interesting, fun, and worthwhile read. I was correct!

Logan was a football player but was told due to his concussions he cannot play anymore when he was twenty-five. Ten years later he meets Bianca who is a widow with a seven year old autistic son, named Drew. Logan has a sister with a autistic son also. He does commercials and one is for companion dogs which Drew has decided he needs a companion dog to help him. Also Logan is planning to build a school for autistic children and wants Bianca to work with him on it. I don't want to give away any more of the story. If I could give this book 10 stars I would, so well written, such a good book.

Loree never disappoints! This book is based on Autism.............I love how her books deal with real life issues that you can apply to your own life. She does an excellent job describing the characteristics of Autism.

When Bianca married Jason, she thought he was a great guy. She got pregnant and had a little boy that they named Drew! Drew was diagnosed with Autism and Jason couldn't get a handle on the fact that his son was "different." I don't know if Jason was embarrassed, ashamed or just didn't know how to interact with Drew...........whatever the reason-- it kept him from having a relationship with his son. Something happens and the relationship between Bianca and Jason ends.

Bianca works for a Radio Station where she meets Logan Murrray --Ex Pro Football Star-- who has a nephew that is autistic which connects Bianca and Logan! Logan is a good guy and really tries to show her that, but she is reluctant. She has trust issues which effects her relationships. She doesn't trust Logan because of his "Star Status" and what she read about him in magazines and online. To find out what ended her marriage and if she ever allows the walls around her heart to fall, you have to read the book. Happy Reading

Beautiful, intimate peek into the life of a young boy who just wants to live in the normal world and a mother whose devotion goes above and beyond the call of duty for her own son. Be prepared to be moved when you read this story of commitment and unending love in this work of devotion and fight for a world that has been overlooked and underrated.

A sweet little inspiring modern Christian fiction book. Except for a couple of "h" words...
Overall, I did enjoy learning more about what it's like to love and care for those who are autistic...as well as those who care for their parents living with cancer in their last months of life. Neither situations are ever asked for; yet, the loving caregivers are often run ragged, without recognition or much-needed breaks. I appreciated the author's thoroughness in her research inclusions. After reading this book, I am inspired to do some more research on my own.
