Prophecy, Magic, and a Love That Could Change the World: a contemporary romantic fantasy like no other!
2225. The world is dying. One druid warrior holds the key to saving it—but only if he can rewrite the past.
Ky Owen hates being the center of a prophecy. Sent back in time to prevent humanity's dark future, this powerful druid warrior battles not just enemies, but his own fear of failure and the crushing weight of destiny.
Investigative reporter Angela Higgins came to the Colorado mountains searching for answers about her ex-lover's mysterious disappearance. The last thing she expected was meeting a time traveler with an impossible story—one she absolutely doesn't believe.
But when Angela becomes a target in Ky's dangerous mission, everything changes. Now he must choose between saving the world and protecting the woman who was never supposed to be part of his life.
A prophecy murkier than they imagined. Enemies who will stop at nothing. And a love that could damn or save them.
Can two people from different worlds overcome impossible odds to rewrite destiny itself?
Begin the Time's End saga—where complex characters, slow-burn romance, and world-ending stakes collide in an unforgettable adventure.
Hi. I’m PK Stuart, an author living in western Colorado. Currently, I’m writing romantic fantasy.
I love reading. I was that kid motivated to finish schoolwork by the words “Read silently when you have finished.” Favorite genres change over the years, but I’ve never been without at least one book I was reading. My favorite reading for the past few years mixes magic, mystery, and romance with a touch of humor. So, that’s what I’m writing.
My Time’s End series has those things plus it features smart, strong women and kind, brave, alpha sorts of men. My characters take time to discover their bravery, intelligence, and strength, but things will work out (mostly) in the end.
Personally, I balance my time between being introverted—glued to my laptop—and being outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, floating rivers, exploring the amazing archaeological sites in the four-corners region and doing those things with amazing family and friends.
Protecting nature, taking care of people in my community and nurturing my family are values I have in common with my characters.
Dispelling the myth that smart, strong, outdoor loving women don’t read romance is important to me too.
Inside the Tree Line is an imaginative start to the Time’s End series, blending time travel, prophecy, and slow‑burn romance in a way that feels both fresh and comfortingly familiar. Ky Owen is a reluctant druid warrior sent back from 2225, and Angela Higgins is the determined reporter who refuses to be swept up in anyone’s story but her own. Their dynamic is the heart of the book, and Stuart does a great job building tension, trust, and chemistry without rushing it.
The worldbuilding is rich, especially the glimpses of the future and the mystical elements tied to the prophecy. The Colorado mountain setting adds a rugged, atmospheric backdrop that fits the story’s tone perfectly. I also appreciated the balance between action, character development, and the overarching mystery.
Where the book lost a bit of momentum for me was in the pacing. Some themes and conversations felt a little repetitive, and a few sections lingered longer than necessary, which occasionally pulled me out of the otherwise compelling flow. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it did make the middle stretch feel less riveting than the opening and closing acts.
Overall, this is a strong first installment with memorable characters, an intriguing premise, and a satisfying blend of romance and fantasy. I’m definitely interested in continuing the series.
Thank you to P.K. Stuart for this copy of Inside the Tree Line from P.K. Stuart as a Goodreads giveaway.
I really enjoy the concept/plot of this story. Time travel, fighting climate change, magic, hot guys with magic, and a world to save, sign me up. My struggle was with some aspects of the fmc and mmc. I was frustrated at how they handled things between each other initially. It felt as though some more back story was needed for that type of reaction? It also felt rushed at times, like I couldn't get a full understanding of what was happening. I'm here for saving the world but I'm also here for the tea on the emotional roller coaster they gave to each other. Maybe it will be more clear in future books? Overall I think this story is captivating and has left !e looking forward to the next book.
I was immediately drawn in to the story and found myself having a hard time putting the book down. The characters are complex, interesting, and relatable. The storyline is riveting, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. The story had just the right balance of action and romance as well. I’ll pass my book on to friends who are looking for a good read.
Love love love this book!! I immediately ordered book 2 as soon as I finished. Perfect blend of fantasy and romance, this book had me hanging on til the last page.
