I use this W-S cookbook more than any of the many others I've had. The sukiyaki, though not perfectly traditional, is delicious. We also love the green bean & pork dish among others. It is one of the few W-S cookbooks I will be keeping as I clear out my cookbook collection.
I used this cookbook as a starting point to cooking Asian dishes--it's an excellent teacher. After mastering the basics I can pretty much ad lib it and no longer require yet another cookbook in my collection.
A good collection of fairly easy recipes. The recipes are divided into sections based on how long they're supposed to take to cook, which seems useful if you care about those type of things. However, the two recipes I've tried so far took longer than the suggested time. I'm not sure if that's because the times are overly optimistic or if I'm a slow cook.
Everything we've made out of this cookbook has been tasty and quick to prep. A few basic "asian" ingredients and we were good to go. Easy dishes to prep, and fills a gap for us being in a European city that lacks any decent Asian food except Thai.
Like most Williams Sonoma cookbooks, this one is pretty basic and easy to follow. The recipes are pretty tasty, and the ingredients are easy to find. Nice starter cookbook.
