For years, Shuria was a monster, the ultimate assassin created as a result of countless painful experiments. At the end of the war, she finds refuge on the Kryptid homeworld as an advisor to the Queen. But even here, she doesn’t belong. When the Vanguard comes to warn them of an impending invasion by the Coalition rebels, Shuria’s life takes on an unexpected turn as she reconnects with Rogue. He is everything any female could dream of. But how can he truly want someone as broken as her, especially after all the terrible things she has done?
When he embarks on this latest mission, Rogue only aims to put his scientific knowledge and combat skills to the defense of their former enemies turned allies. Instead, his mating glands awaken for the most unlikely female. After all those years knowing Shuria, why now? Are they truly soulmates or is his sudden physiological response to her a glitch?
USA Today bestselling author Regine Abel is a fantasy, paranormal, and sci-fi junkie. Anything with a bit of magic, a touch of the unusual, and a lot of romance will have her jumping for joy. She loves writing hot alien warriors meeting no-nonsense, kick-ass heroines. Her novels are steamy, action-packed, and with the twists and turns you never saw coming.
Before devoting herself as a full-time writer, Regine had surrendered to her other passions: music and video games! After a decade working as a Sound Engineer in movie dubbing and live concerts, Regine became a professional Game Designer and Creative Director, a career that has led her from her home in Canada to the US and various countries in Europe and Asia.
Dual first person POV is perfect for romance and lousy for interplanetary war. I think the series wrapped up nicely. Plenty of cameos from the rest of the characters and a truly gratifying end for the villain and the Vanguard.
I can't believe that it is over. I really loved this story. This was so unexpected the couple in this one but I really appreciate it. They both deserve each other. The author is amazing and I really loved her body of work.
Fantastic writing! I love the newly modified Shuria, with many of the coldest, most aggressive experimental traits removed. In the aftermath, she’s super emotional, but that doesn’t detract her from using her agile mind to quickly assess what is needed, and act accordingly. Rogue is simply amazing. His brilliance constantly uncovers more answers to the problems stirred up by the Coalition Rebels. He may be unsure at first why Shuria is now his mate, but he’s such a sweetheart! He holds none of her past behavior against her. Theirs is a very sweet romance, amidst the chaos of locating the enemy, figuring out how to overcome the monsters they’ve made, and protecting Kryptor and the Kryptids. I’m sad to hear that it is the end of this beloved, fascinating series, but the author has done a magnificent job of drawing it to a close. I am elated, thrilled with the outcome, and curious to see what direction the author takes henceforth.
This book is a wonderful ending to a great series. Lots of wonderful aliens, horrible monsters and bad guys with well written action. Great storyline with romance that will singe your hair.
This is a binge worthy series with hunky aliens and strong heroines.
First off, ROGUE FINALLY FINDS HIS SPECIAL SOMEONE! I'm excited about this. The big guy has been toiling behind the scenes for a while now doing the thing that needs to be done to make scientific strides against first the Krytpid general and now the Coalition rebels and their weapons and he deserves to find someone who completes him the way Shuria does. That said, both Rogue and Shuria are initially hesitant to believe that she's the one for him because they've been working together for several years without his mating glands activating.
It turns out there's a good reason for this. The genetic modifications that were done to Shuria and her Mimic sisters (against their will, as you might remember) caused a few issues that needed to be corrected. Time and perseverance by the Krytid workers have brought her back to nearly what she was before and WOULDN'T YOU BELIEVE IT now Rogue's mating glands are going into overdrive. While this is definitely a good thing (for both of them), Shuria has concerns that the genetic tampering means this is all a mistake and she'll lose the thing she longs for most just when she gets used to having Rogue as hers. Considering her part in the general's original plan, she's also wary of how the Dragons will accept her (if they ever do).
Yeah, these two have some things they need to work through. Fortunately, the bond that springs up between them helps them through a lot of their fears with minimal fuss.
Meanwhile, the Coalition rebels are doing terrible things in the name of peace. Most of the rebels have been lied to and mislead about what's been done to them and what they're planning for their enemies. Let's just say that the man in charge isn't so different from the general he claims to hate and leave it at that.
A lot of familiar faces, plenty of dangerous (and terrible) weapons, a race against time to stop a new war before it begins, enemies-turned-allies, a Dragon with a brilliantly scientific mind, and the Mimic woman who finds herself again after the horrors that were forced on her. I've REALLY enjoyed this series and I'm sad to see it end, but MAN did it end on a high note. GOOD STUFF.
It's the last book on the Xian warriors saga! Shuria is a Mimic who was modified by the late General Kuthu, now she can transform in any creature she wants but also use their abilities with the cost of spending her life force. She has been living among the kryptids for some time and they have reverted some modifications, she is now more herself than before. Rogue is medic and scientist for the Dragons, tall, with a deep voice and the face of a baby is one of the few Dragons who has not found his mate yet. They found they're mates in the middle of war against the rebels and have to fight insecurities and grave dangers while they try to build a relationship.
I liked their love story but what I love most about this book was the closure that we get on this whole world Regine Abel has built for us, the glimpses of other beloved characters and the end of the war that I believe was overdue (I'm talking to you Giles Dalton 😅)

This series has been awesome. The characters are phenomenal. Each book brings a new cast of unusual characters to get to know. In this book it’s the culmination of the wars. In the guise of revenge after working together to get rid of the common enemy that reigned terror over the entire galaxy for a century, a new megalomaniac has emerged. He has been amassing information and knowledge from the previous bad guy and is implementing the experiments on people who believe they want revenge for their pain and loss from the war. Read this wonderful conclusion to the saga and read the latest pairings of soulmates. I have enjoyed the love scenes. Not simply standard meet fall in love and have sex love scenes. Very well described. I hope there are more books by this author. I also truly love the artist renderings of the monsters and characters it makes the book come alive.
Started this book right after reading Nevrik’s story. I really liked to know how the war with Giles would end. I was curious about this couple but to be honest…. I really was more into the war then the couple….. that’s not to say i did not like the couple, just that I was more into the war and battle and how things would go and be solved.
The ending of the war was great. I was not immersed into the mating scene….. maybe when I do a re read, I will be more focused on that.
Great ending of a serie or will there be more books?

I loved this series and these books. Besides having all the feels of love and relationships. It was very sciencey and very cultural in that it built worlds of aliens and humans. It was so intriguing to read about alien cultures, the experiments and even the AI. A great series so well done.
Buen final..
Loved it from start to end. Author has a gift of scifi and romance. This book was about misconceptions, shyness, forgiveness and repentance. The relationship progression was beautiful to read about. especially loved rap up. Hope the author continues to write about non fully humans. Rather read scifi books about other species relationship growth. Planets.
once again regine has created another brilliant, involved, angsty. steamy. romantic plotline. just love the Xian warriors series. every alpha has a fantastic plot and its great to catch up on past warriors as their unique abilities weave into the book. Daryl Mayfield does a great job as a solo narrator.
I have really enjoyed this series with all the different beings and characters. The storyline in this book was so sweet and for the series had a good ending. Good writer
It's the end of an era. I am sad to say good bye to our dear friends, but it was am epic journey with many hard battles, and their rest has been earned. I'm so glad we got to see Shuria find her HEA with her very own dragon.
This story shows that everything we thought we knew by reading the previous books could still be flipped. I loved the way that Rogue and Shuria came together and the way their past made the future even better.
Absolutely amazing book and series as a whole. Twist and turns that kept me on my toes and waiting for the next good or bad thing to happen. Great job Ms. Abel!
