I rate Dorothy Jean Ray books as the Bible of who's who of our culture. When I was young boy in old east end of Nome their was a short, at time my thought said little old lady, was in fact Dorothy her self photography and back round. My grandfather Tony Pushruk is in her book showing making raven mask and my Aupoks, Uddersheek way of pronouncing his name my uncle, dancing mask and art of Ivory, baleen and driftwood. So for me it's my history of my people of whom I come from. People of the water. AP
