In einer parallelen Welt 2013 wird Peter Adam, Deutschprofessor an einem College in Iowa, von Albträumen geplagt. Eines Tages hat er eine apokalyptische Vision, in der ihm eine unbekannte junge Nonne eine entsetzliche Wahrheit enthüllt.
