Growing up in the small town of Seymour Wisconsin, playtime came ready-made with Scott's 11 brothers and sisters. No lie! Having fun then meant grabbing a sibling, heading outside and imagining a world around you. That imagination brought Scott Theater degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and Villanova University before bringing him to L.A. where he’s worked as a producer, writer, and actor for over 20 years. Best known for his work on the highly acclaimed “Medal of Honor” & “Call of Duty” video game franchises, Scott has done work for companies including Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, EA Games, and the Jim Henson Company.

It appears that 2014 will be a great year for children’s books as we lead off with ‘The Question’. January is the perfect month for this book especially with record temps & snowfall.

A young, elementary age boy lies awake in his bed. As he struggles to sleep, he watches the snow. When his imagination takes over, he ponders all the possibilities that an epic snowfall may bring. Above all the things he’s considered, he has one question left unanswered. As he braves the elements, can he put his mind at ease?

I’ll not spoil the ending for you. However, I will say that both my 11 year old son & I got quite a chuckle when we realized where the story was headed. Our young, unnamed hero of the story is perfectly depicted. I could definitely see quite a bit on my own sons in his behavior. His wondrous imagination adds a beautiful picture of how children view our world. If adults saw it as such, the world would be a much better place.

Obviously, the book is clean. Parents can let their kids read alone without worrying about coarse or scary content.

Accompanying this great, award-caliber story, are breath-taking illustrations. Lidat Truong is extremely talented. Some of today’s animated cartoons could sure use his expertise! He’s packed so much detail into each page that readers want to linger before continuing.

I received an eBook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
