Rate this book
After traveling around the world for six years, both running from her past and seeking her future, Edie Yates is back in Greenville, Arizona to reconnect with her older sister, Melanie. While Edie was away, Melanie married Brick Baxter, president of the Marauder Riders MC, and found a real family, the likes of which neither Melanie nor Edie had ever known. Now Melanie wants Edie to know the love and security of that family.

And she does. In the Marauders, Edie finds brothers, nieces and nephews, even a surrogate father or two. She begins to settle in, though she still struggles with her past.

And she finds Dawg, who earns his road name regularly. He loves women, and they love him. Edie knows he’s bad news, and she tells him she’s not interested. But he’s funny and charming, and she enjoys his company.

Dawg knows he isn’t boyfriend material. He doesn’t want to be boyfriend material. He likes being a dawg. And he’s far too smart to hit on his president’s sister-in-law. But she’s interesting. She’s had a life, been everywhere. He enjoys talking with her. When she makes it clear that she’s not interested, and he makes it clear that he’s not stupid, they begin to forge a friendship.

They become close—real friends.

And then everything explodes.

Note: Explicit sex and violence.

5 "Happy Headache" Stars

Lina Andersson wrote an excellent MC book in Arrow of Time. This book reflects MC culture and ideals while emphasizing the point of family within the Greenville Arizona Marauders Chapter. In my reading experience of this genre, I thought the author really nailed her interpretation of club politics. Her writing style was something totally new to me. Edie, the female lead, tells her story through first person while the rest of the characters are told in 3rd person. It was a really interesting way to read, like a full circle of views, and written well so I was never lost or confused.

The love story within the pages of Arrow of Time proved to be a slow burn kind of love with a friends to lovers'esque relationship. I'm glad we were inside of Edie's head throughout the book. Her POV helped me understand what she's went through and how she deals emotionally. Her inner thoughts on the family she's gaining and the experiences she's had in her life kept me glued to the pages. Dawg, our hero, is another one of a kind biker. Of course, he shares many similarities to most bikers but his charm, charisma, humor, and compassion are owned by him and make him uniquely Dawg. Together they embark on a relationship new to both of them and the journey was a pleasure to read.

The rest of these characters I adored just as much. Aside from the love story of Edie and Dawg, the reader witnesses Edie forming relationships with her sister, brother in law, their children, and other Marauder brothers. In addition, we get a birds eye view of the inner workings of the Marauders MC and the most prominent brothers leading the club. I must mention that Brick, Marauders MC president, and Vasco, club member, were two of my most favorite characters. The quiet charm, the sage advice, the understanding and compassion for Edie stands out as a major highlight of this book. They break down seemingly complex issues very simply and make no excuses for themselves, their club, their values, or their families. Like all biker romances they own their moral code to the fullest extent and I LOVE everything about it.

This book is about moving forward. It's about acceptance. It's about dealing with issues in the past in a way you see fit to most benefit your life. It's about not forgetting the past but rather accepting it so your future is bright. It's about living in a world you create for yourself based on what you value most important.

The compassion and simple nature of these outlaws bikers written by Freak Circle Press authors is unrivaled in the genre and as present as all the others in Arrow of Time. I can't wait to see what Lina Andersson has in store for me with the next Marauders MC book.

No idea what to rate this.

edit: I gave it 1 star because of the 5th POV which was unnecessary and if anything it seemed to normalise some very abusive and disturbing behaviour and make it okay just because the guy in question was a good club brother even if otherwise he was a disgusting human.

As far as MC books go the style of this one is somewhere between dark and grey. Most people maybe wouldn’t agree because the “club business” only involved the club members and none of their families - but even if the relationship conflict, inner conflicts of the protagonists and the action part of the conflict in the plot were all separate, and therefore the main characters didn’t deal in so much trauma or darkness - it was still all around them. There are graphic scenes of murder and torture and I had a hard time reading some.

The first part of the book I didn’t like anything about the hero. I don’t think this book is safe for some people. Objectively there is no cheating, but the hero and heroine do get together (in a one night sense) and afterwards things between them go from friendship to not talking to each other for months. Months in which the hero got around and the heroine saw him do it too. Quite literally.
At the same time, they weren’t together and the heroine did stop speaking to him so there was no obligation on either part.

When it comes to the hero, to finish my earlier thought, I didn’t like him. He’s a 32 year old who is known for having sex - a lot of sex with multiple partners at the same time and who never had a relationship. He has no reason for it. He’s had a happy, great life and parents. He came from stability and was witness to the great and loyal relationship his parents had. I don’t like that we weren’t given an explanation why he can’t stop having sex. It wasn’t an addiction thing because he did stop when things with the heroine were looking up so I don’t understand why his character was painted that way - with so much emphasis on how he is a “Dawg” but then he gets a personality transplant.

The heroine - well, right after I finished the book I thought I didn’t like her but the more I thought about it the more I realised that I was just being too hard on her and too judgy.
Because in the second half of the book the hero was quite literally perfect - she got painted in a worse light. She had issues, she didn’t deal with them in a healthy and correct way. True. She literally ran into an issue which she didn’t agree with and then instead of dealing and talking it out - she ran. Literally. She’d scream that she doesn’t wanna talk to him and then run. I got that it was toxic and I got that it was annoying but given her background I understand why she doesn’t have the tools to deal with conflict. I think her being away and travelling the world for 6 years doesn’t make up for the fact that she didn’t have a family or a healthy relationship in her life - and globe trotting isn’t exactly conducive of lasting relationships. So I got her and I think she will eventually get over it . But those things take time. There will come an occasion where instead of running from conflict, she would starting arguing back and scream her grievances- but that time wasn’t yet there. I’m fine with that.

I also liked (it’s what I liked most maybe) that she didn’t take to the club like another woman standing by her man and start doing the chores around there nor did she give in to any pressure in the very misogynistic culture of the MC. Because here it is, this book rubbed me the wrong way too many times and most had to do with the roles of men and women around the club and things which were mentioned. I liked that she was against some of the club’s “imports” and therefore in principle she refused to get his club tattoo (basically like an Old Lady mark) - but she did tell him that she will get a tattoo that has significance for him just not club related - I thought that was pretty cool.
Overall I’d say that this book could have been worse for me if the heroine was different. I think the fact that she wasn’t a pushover and that she stuck to her guns all the time made a big difference to how I enjoyed this.

The reason I can’t rate this:

We got 5 POV’s - most of them were of the hero and heroine but we would also get small glimpses from Melanie (the heroine’s sister - who kinda made things about her a bit too much and put her nose where it doesn’t belong - but I can let that go cause it came from a good place),
then from Brick (Melanie’s husband and the Prez of the club - and I gotta say, some things in his relationship with Edie, the heroine were a bit weird. Too much love between them, too soon. I liked it, don’t get me wrong - but it was only a few months before she was one of his favourite people. Just a bit odd) - and lastly the reason I can’t rate this book - we got a totally random POV of Bull - one of the club members.

Let me just preface my upcoming rant with the question why. Why did we have to get that POS’s point of view? Why? It was unnecessary. Because if there was a need for a POV of someone’s insight into the club dealings - Brick, the Prez, had it covered. So again, why? I honestly thought we were getting a side story of a guy who is a waste of space and he gets killed or something in club conflict. Everytime there was some club issue I was desperately waiting for the guy to kick it. I was sorely disappointed in the end.

Let me give you the juicy tidbits about this absolute trash of a human. He is very against being cheated on. He has an ex wife (6 years separated) and apparently it’s a well known fact she cheated in him and he took her to the “cabin” - that’s where the club does the torturing- and then he proceeded to torture her. We weren’t told what he did exactly, just that she will forever have scars to remind her and that he magnanimously let her live (because no one who goes to the cabin lives). They also have a small child - a son who he doesn’t allow see her more than once every 2 weeks - mostly, from what I gathered, because he is a petty sick fuck.

Then, this petty, sick fuck got married again only because he wanted another mom for his kid. So in his words, he married this sweet, shy, obedient Latina (there was also an undertone of racism there - he kinda said her race in the context of her putting up with anything from him - like he’s better than her and she’s lucky he chose her - what with her being Latina and all) who stays home and takes care of his kid and never asks him and questions. He cheats every day with different women but says that Angie (his new wife) wouldn’t dare because she knew what happened to women who did that to him. The hypocrite literally scared his wife into keeping silent and letting him mess around on her but never having the guts to do anything about it. I’d be scared if I was her too tbh. He is the clubs main torturer and I saw that guy in action.

I hate that I had to read about him. I hate that he was part of the brotherhood and that he had a great and pretty normal relationship with his club and the extended family of
people in the club. I hate that we were given all this sickening info on him and then the next page we have someone speaking to him and about him like he’s a great guy. A great guy, sure! He saw his wife at a club function - helping the women with the food and noticed her being uncomfortable and looking at the club girls - and he literally said to himself “she’s probably thinking who I’m fucking out of all of them” and then he thought ”probably shouldn’t have married her, she’s too good for me - but eh, what can ya do now”.
I hate that I had to read all that. He’s not the only cheater. And it’s worse because we were introduced to male characters and then their wives only to have those guys afterwards cheating on their wives but all keeping each other’s secrets - cause it’s nobodies business apparently.

It’s enough that there are so many misogynistic undertones in that world and that there are so many throwaway comments which seem innocuous and are everything but. It’s enough that I have to put up with that in order to get through to the end of the love story set in that world - I don’t also need a front row seat at the depravity of the male psyche and have it painted as being okay because he’s more than just a monster - he can be good to some people. I’m sorry no. Never. I wanna read the next book because it sounds like a very sweet story but I can’t put up with more PoVs about depraved men doing depraved shit.

Arrow of Time could have been a great book, the first half of it was actually quite good and promising but after that...everything went to hell. It's rare for me to truly love a biker book because I'm picky with my reads, especially this genre. I absolutely don't like cheating , abuse or drugs. And I thought I was going to adore Arrow of Time, turns out, I didn't or, at least, not as much as I'd have liked.

The story:
Edie is twenty-five year-old and has been traveling all over the world for the last six years of her life. Now, she's had enough and wants to go back home and home is where her sister, Mel/Lanie, is. Except a lot has changed since she last saw her big sister, now Mel is married to a badass biker, the president of the Marauder Riders MC, Brick. And so Edie comes back and finds herself surrounded by a big biker family.

Enter Dawg (his name says it all), loyal member of the Marauder Riders MC, thirty-two year-old, man-whore, pretty funny guy, full of tattoos and just plain sweet. Everyone knows he fucks his girls and then leave them, he doesn't do the girlfriend thing and he likes it that way, until Edie. He knows Edie is off limit because she's Mel's sister and just because. But, still, he can't stay away and they soon because good friends.

But one night, after the death of someone they both loved, they have sex and, panicking, Dawg leaves in the morning without telling her anything. Edie is hurt, she fell in love with him and she thinks he just used her, like all the other girls. Dawg feels like shit, he loves her too, but he never felt that way about a woman and he soon realizes that he should not have left her bed.

My thoughts:
Like I said, this book could have been awesome and it was, for a while. Up until a certain point. There might be some minor spoilers below, so read at your own risks.

1. I did not like Edie. At all. I admit, I did at first, I thought she was really cool and brave, she did not have an easy life, she did something pretty terrible when she was eighteen, that's why she left and traveled the world. Knowing that, I found her strong and fun but then...I couldn't. She was the most childish heroine I've ever read about.

I understand that, due to her past, she didn't handle well when someone told her what to do but, for goodness' sake, she's not a child anymore, she went away six years to actually find herself and she comes back and have the most ridiculous attitude I've ever seen.

You want an example? At some point, Dawg knows she's going to get evicted from her apartment and he suggests to her that, while she looks for another one, she can crash at his place since he's at her place almost all the time. She says yes and Dawg, to surprise her, takes some of his time (and he doesn't have any, the club has problems so he's pretty busy and anxious) to clean his place properly, repaints all the walls (and he repaints them the colors he knew she wanted for her own place), and then, when he brings her over and asks her to move in with him (or tells her, but it was pretty nice), she freaks out, she yells at him pretty badly and just leave. Just.Like.That. For something as benign as that and something pretty sweet, she gets super mad and acts like a brat.

Seriously, her behavior, at times, was completely ridiculous and, if I could have, I'd have slapped some sense into her. Big time.

After the first time they have sex (if I remember correctly), instead of talking with him or just avoiding him completely, she actually leaves and go to freaking India for a month. Then, another time, he tells her something about the club, he's honest with her, she gets mega upset this time, like mega fucking upset, she throws him out and would have left if not for Brick stopping her.

The last fight I mentioned, she had reasons to be upset, reasons I can understand and had seen coming for a long time but, thing is, Dawg didn't. He didn't understand because she did not talk to him. Instead of explaining things to him, even yelling at him, every fucking time they had a fight, she would just leave and I hated that. I really did. She only talked to Brick, her brother-in-law, why the fuck not?

Anyway, there are a lot of things I didn't like about her, mostly her attitude toward Dawg. I didn't like that she smoked pot but that's just me, I know that, I'm just really against drugs and, especially in a biker book, I can't really say anything.

2. Mel, her sister. Oh my god. Will it ever stop? Her sister was not better, she wasn't the focus of the book but she annoyed me. She was way too protective of Edie. Like way too into her business and it pissed me off.
3. I get it, it's a biker book and biker books have violence in them. But I have my limits. This one was not dark like some can be, it was pretty 'tame' but they killed, they tortured and at some point, they tortured and killed a woman (she was guilty of something but I did not think it was necessary to kill her) and, I'm sorry, I didn't like that.

4. The plot wasn't that great? Trust me, it could've been, and it was, up until the end where the Marauders solved the problem and it was over. No kidnappings, no shooting Old Ladies, not that I wanted that but sometimes a little bit of action is welcome. There was some action but it was just the club (not involving the women) and a rival gang and it was pretty fast. I didn't really enjoy it and I didn't feel anything so nothing spectacular. If that make any sense.

5. The secondary characters. I liked some of them. Brick was really nice, loved his wife and family, loved his club and loved Edie. His relation with her was a bit weird but that's just me. I have a problem with Bull and Bear, both married, both openly cheating on their wives and both giving zero shit. I liked Violet, Bear's daughter, shy and sweet, will definitely read her story. And baby Eliza, Mel and Brick's daughter, this kid was so freaking cute and smart.

6. English is not my first language so I don't really notice when the writing is bad or anything but in Arrow of Time there were quite a lot of mistakes, not grammar mistakes (or maybe some but I don't really notice those, at least, not the subtle ones), more like spelling mistakes.

The only good point in all of that was Dawg. He had his faults but he was honest and trying pretty hard to please Edie. And he was freaking patient with her. Seriously. With everything she put him through, he never cheated on her, never even thought about it (I'm not saying he should have, I hate cheaters, but in this kind of book with this kind of hero, it could have happened), he gave her time when I would have just let go of her. He was funny, super super cute with Eliza and, well, pretty hot. If he wasn't so awesome I don't think I could have finish the book.

Overall, I didn't like Arrow of Time this much. I was really disappointed though because it started out pretty well but Edie really really annoyed me with her childish behavior and the plot did not convinced me. Lina Andersson has lots of potential and I will definitely read the next book in the series because I loved Violet in this one and I have faith!

I'm utterly repulsed by this story.

This is supposed to be be love story between Dawg & Edie? Really, so why does he spend more than half the story fucking other women, in fact being in constant 3somes with other women, making sure that Edie actually SEES him having sex with these women, and also telling Edie that even though might not like it, he would CONTINUE to screw other women.

And even AFTER he sleeps with Edie, he continues to screw around with other women. Disgusting pig.

Oh yeah, this is one hell of a bullshit "love" story.

I hate Dawg & Edie is a complete moron for giving in to this manslut who screwed around even while making time with her. Given time he will cheat & keep on cheating.

And Bull, he is absolute filth. He is a prolific adulterer who abused his first wife for cheating, can you believe it, but on the 2nd wife he constantly cheats and expects her to be faithful because he would make her suffer if she wasn't. He is the abusive scum beneath a woman's feet.

This whole series with these immoral degenerate men who torture and abuse other women, and their doormat women who stay with these evil bastards is not for me.

And on a final note, Vi is a total hypocrite and copout on the whole diamond situation.

I love me a good manwhore, but there's a fine line between being a manwhore I can love and a walking STD! Dude needed to chill the f#@k out

I did not check gr before starting this book.....a mistake never to be repeated because then I would've seen the above and known not to start this.

It started off ok as the h returns after a 6 year absence as she roamed the world. From the indications something traumatic happened and she left. We have multiple povs from probably every person she encounters but especially from Brick her brother in law and the president of the mc.Months pass as she stays with her sister, finds a job and settles into every day Life. She attended some of the mc parties where we see Dawg in the middle of a treesome, Dawg is aptly named because he basically screws anything female. While the sex scenes are not detailed there are many indications letting us know that Dawg is the manwhorest or all manwhores. At this point I'm still reading trying to figure out who the H is supposed to be. So at maybe 40% I skipped ahead to find out who was the H........low and behold it's Dawg.....who the h has seen with OW during the course of this book. I was stunned. I couldn't believe I.....yes me....... actually owned this book! I promptly banished it to the will never ever ever ever read again pile and am now seeking brain bleach to erase the horrid images of any h ending up with a creature like Dawg!

To be continued........32nd of Neveruary in the year 20 never!

Note to self check gr before reading any book!!!!!!!

If you love MC books you want to read this one. The h gets annoying at times but the H makes up for it. I love that this book includes illegal activities since so many other MC books leave that out. It gives it so much more of a realistic feel! This book ends with a HEA and no cliffhanger which is awesome. There is violence in this book but I feel it just added to the flavor. The sexy times were hot without being over done. There are errors that should be corrected but didn't stop me from reading. I will definitely read this author again

This is a debut book and my rating reflects this.

I actually found this book quite by accident. You know how you see something and click on it and it leads you to another thing and you click, and on ... ?

This, believe it or not, is a story about a Motorcycle Club. I know, you can't really tell by the cover - right? The author is even Norwegian and it doesn't sound like she has lived in the states where MC's originate, but she seems to have the dialogue and mannerisms down fairly well. Maybe using the SOA absorption techniques or their Cliff-notes or something?

What made this one a decent read?
1 -- The characters baby! For me, it seems to always be about the characters. For a debut, I think the author did a really decent job with her character development.

2 -- Nothing in this story was over the top. So many times you read these MC novels and they are just chock full of over the top crap. This one seemed to focus on the people. There was a bit of "suspense" thrown in that read very much like an episode of SOA, but you can skim that part. I did [more on that later].

3 -- I love kids, pets or anything a bit softer in my stories. This one had a cute little 4 year old named Eliza. Adorable.

Why not a 5 Star read?
1 -- There were some grammar things. Not many, but there and noticeable.

2 -- The "suspense" stuff was thrown in and for me it didn't work well; clunky development. I started to read it and then it just was too much so started skimming those parts. I'm not sure it was really well thought out. I also think it smacked of a bad SOA episode. I'm not sure, but the story was fine without it. If this happens again, I may not be so generous.

3 -- The h has an episode in her life or I should say her history until she was 18. The author let us believe or assume this was darker than it turned out to be. I think she should have just pulled up her big girl panties and stayed the course. Taken us there. Because she didn't, the story lost a bit of its punch. It just wasn't as grounded from that point on.

4 -- The cover makes sense after you read the first few chapters, but I don't think it was a good pick to sell this book. Seriously ... hiking boots? Out of all the stuff she could have picked, she comes up with these boots.

5 -- I think this author has some real intelligence. You see it in places in this book. There are conversations between characters, there is the quote at the very beginning around the title of the book; Arrow of Time. She needs to let this shine through. Not be afraid of this side of herself and just let it go. I can respect this more than her holding back. You feel this is what she is doing. Don't. Go for it.

6 -- I think an author cheats when they use a date at the beginning of the chapter to jump ahead a day, a few days, a week, few weeks or more. I felt like I was traveling a board game and got a free jump. As I jumped, I was wondering what I'd missed. I know of one other author whose done this recently to the same level of distraction and I commented on that too -- I don't like it. Cheater Pants!!

This is a plus and a minus. I can't decide if I like all the varied points of view. One chapter we are Dawg. Another chapter we are Brick or Lanie or maybe someone else. I think the only one we didn't hear from somewhere was Eliza; out precocious 4 year old. I either got used to it by the end or the author got more adept with the process. Not sure, but by the end, it didn't seem to be the issue for me it was in the beginning.

Like I said, I was a bit surprised I liked this story as well as I did. I downloaded it yesterday as a freebie from Amazon. I probably pick up 4 or so a day, so the simple fact I read this already is amazing. Maybe you can snag it. If you do, I think you'll have an enjoyable few hours of reading. And, isn't that what its' all about?

Happy Reading!!

good start to an MC series. i did find the heroine to be immature at times, she tended to run off when life got hard or she had a disagreement with the hero or her sister. regardless of her history, in real life a relationship with one person not communicating and just taking off for 'breaks' wouldn't work but alas, fiction.

the setting, character history/storylines and club business within did feel mature and real, it reminded me of susan fanetti's tone within her MC series.

over all, great jumping off point for future books about the other club members. i am very intrigued to hear mofe about certain members. am currently almost done with book #2 and its looking like a 5 star read so far. i am glad i gave this author a go, book 2 may be more enjoyable for me personally but i did like book 1! enough to jump straight into the next one. i just found our heroine a little hard to handle at times and it did get a little long winded and overly discriptive in a few places. however with the second book, you can tell the author has found her groove! give it a try or just jump to book 2. its best enjoyed by reading this book first but i do feel it could also be enjoyed as a standalone.

“Girl, you don't have to change your opinions or convictions to be with him, you just have to decide if you're okay with him not sharing them.”

“I'm not sure it's that easy.”

“In the end, honey, it really is. Not the decision, that's tough as hell, but the facts are that easy. You've found a man you love and who loves you. He's going to protect you and provide for you, but do it in a way that you don't like. Can you live with that or not?”

Arrow of Time is a very well written biker/MC novel. I loved that the story is written from multiple points of view. It really helped provide a full picture that readers rarely get in books. I thought the story was very well developed but it definitely was not fast paced. I enjoyed the pace but can see where some readers may find it a little slow.

I knew that Arrow of Time was the first book in the Marauder series when I started reading it but actually went back to check that there wasn't a book that came before it. The established relationship between Melanie and Brick seems like it may have been a a logical place to start the series, although I'm not complaining about getting Edie and Dawg's story first.

The fuckups are how we learn, and sometimes we need to do the same fuckup more than once to get the message. As for falling for flirts, I'd done it more than once, got upset about it the first times, and the last time I just got pissed at myself. So I'd had my share of that type. I wasn't going down that lane again. They were good when you just wanted some fun, because they usually were fun. Hooking up with a guy like that and then having to be around him wasn't worth all the fun in the world.

I'd compare this book and Lina Anderson with the type of quality writing found in Susan Fanetti's Signal Bend series and another recent book I just finished, Under Locke by author Mariana Zapata. All three authors have produced what I consider "grown up" biker/MC stories. Don't get me wrong, I'll take my guilty pleausure and wham-bam type biker books as they come, but its so nice to see such talented authors adding to the mix of established writers in this genre like Madeline Sheehan.

The second book in the Marauder series is out, Perfect Collision, and I am looking forward to starting that one soon.

NOTE: At the time of this review, both books in the Marauder series are available to borrow for free for Prime members through Amazon.

Edie Yates left the remaining member of her family six years ago to go and find herself. It wasn't just a simple task, it was a healing period for a woman who had no path. Now she is returned and her sister is married to the President of the Marauders and she is thrust into a bikers life. Edie is fine with that but she still has issues opening up and definitely has issues with being told what to do.

Dawg sees Edie the moment he walks into the clubhouse, she is new and he wants to tap that. However, before he gets to far she shuts him down and then she is off limits. Dawg is exactly that a Dawg when it comes to women, he likes them any size, any way. His curiosity about Edie though can't seem to go away and he becomes friends with her, despite never having done that before.

Drawn together in a moment where everything changes it is met with a reaction by both parties that keeps them apart. Dawg though is finally realizing he has fallen hard for Edie and doesn't know what to do about it. Two people who are completely lost are learning to navigate but like everything in life it is not a smooth road.

This has quickly become one of my favorite series. Each book is a stand alone but what I appreciate more than anything, every lead character is completely different. The story is unique in each one and does not follow a pattern. You laugh, cry, cheer throughout, impossible to put down. The one thing I can say about these books is the characters problems are true, you know people like them maybe not the biker side but there is something you can identify with easily. Fantastic.

I like how realistic and genuine and STRONG the characters are. There's no drama... and the heroine not your typical chick. She has DREADS even! And she's traveled around the world and barely as any possessions.

It's a different feel to it than most MC club books I've come across. More tame I suppose because there's more maturity in the heroine.

The hero... okay, so he's called Dawg for a reason, but you sincerely love how he TRIES.

I enjoyed the book and it was great, but definitely not something WAY up there in my favorites list with all the other MC club books out there. But it was a simple good read that I really liked. And I liked how they planned out their life in the story :0)

Biker Romance. KU

For me this book was okay but I felt something was missing. When I read I'm a sticker for the main characters the hero and heroine, I love a strong connection between the two and Dawg and Edie just didn't do it for me. I liked Vasco's character, but I couldn't understand Brick and Vasco referring to Dawg as a kid all the time, Dawg is a 32 year old man!! What was up with that???

I felt the author could have gone over Edie's past a lot more, I know what she did to her father, but I would have liked to gone darker and find out what exactly he did to Eddie, would have made a good story.

Wasn't really interested in the story with the gang, to be honest I skipped some of it.

I did like little Eliza and her connection with Edie and Dawg, she was a cutie.

At times the romance part for me felt a bit like a YA, and I know the rest of her books the romance is between young people, just puts me off as I don't like YA. Edie's character was undeveloped IMO, didn't like she kept running every time something went wrong, obviously she had her reasons but this is where the author imo should have delved deeper into Edie's past, we could have know more why she ran.

Overall not bad considering I read it on KU, will probably give book two ago at some point.

2025 Update - eyeball rolls at Dawg’s pet name for Edie 🤦‍♀️ but apart from that I enjoyed revisiting this book again!

2013 Review:
Dawg is aptly named. He's living the life in the Marauders 'MC, no commitments other than the club and then along came Edie. Edie's been on a journey of self discovery and just returned to hop her big sister celebrate a milestone in her life.

Edie and Dawg isn't just 'going to be'. They fight it every step of the way and the fighting worries the both of them. In amongst the romance, the drama unfolds and the Marauders have the matters dealt with accordingly. Love, drug, booze, women and Alpha bikers make fun one entertaining story.

This was a nicely paced story, ended a bit quickly but overall good value in my opinion.

If you can get past the sucky cover of this book you will definetly be pleasantly surprised by the story!! It's a different take on a MC story, since basically all you get now a days is a retelling of Madeline Sheehan or Kristen Ashley tale.

The characters where all fully delevoplement and the story had a nice pace. I liked the ending and epliqoue, neither felt rushed or incomplete and for me if a story has a rushed ending or a crappy epilogue the story is ruined!!!
I loved alternating POV in the story but my only criticism would be it that the POV jumped around to much and it wasn't always clear who was talking.

All in all it was a solid story and I can't wait to read the next installment of the Maruaders.

I really liked this. Sometimes Edie drove me up a wall with all her "running" but it didn't deter me from the story too much. I loved Dawg even though I really didn't like his name. I didn't like saying it to my self so I simply said "dog" lol. But anyways he was sexy as hell and when he got his love on he gave good. I thought he was really sweet with Edie. All of the side characters were cool. The many POV was good too but sometimes wish we didn't spend too much time in their heads. I'll read the next book. :)

Plenty of potential but by the middle of the book I was frustrated with the heroine and by the end I was tired of her. Grow up little girl. You can't run away from life every time the road gets bumpy.

The other cast and cast were great and although I didn't really care about the ongoing club business I did care for Brick. Dawg, who's name I hate almost as much as Ham, really did a 180!

First time read of this author and I was impressed...except for the editing issues.

The story was really well written and I felt a deep connection to Edie and Dawg but I found it a bit tame for a biker book.

These guys seemed more interesting in their love lives than in the true biker lifestyle.

Vasco was a sweetheart.

I will for sure look into the next books.

Just wasn’t my cup of tea, couldn’t get into the story at all! Thought Edie was very immature and a complete coward and dawg was just that a dog! Although Dawg won me over, Edie never did.

I felt like it was anticlimactic and overall barely held my interest at all.

The H lives up to his name, he's sleazy and proud of his ability to be with multiples. That's is asset. he thinks it's great to do this in the intensely private h's room. She's an interesting person who sets a low bar for the life. The MC setting is the usual - drugs, thugs and mayhem all being normalised as they good family people. Just OK.

Very well written with some editing errors and one consistent grammatical convention error that's forgivable since English is not the author's native language (Neither/nor.)

The cover is odd and I wouldn't have noticed this book, had I not seen a recommendation from another GR reader. Ignore the cover. I was sucked in immediately and enjoyed the story from start to end. The characters are interesting and complex and the dialog feels natural. To me, the writing style is reminiscent of Susan Fanetti's series, although the plot is not nearly as complex.

Other reviewers noted they felt the female lead character was annoying and weak, but I don't agree. She's well traveled, knowledgeable about customs and cultures around the world, an independent thinker, but not perfect, because she's traumatized by childhood experiences. Her first response to any conflict is to run, which I guess seemed childish to other readers, but in the context of the story and her background, I thought was reasonable, understandable and frankly, gave another level of tension to every argument.

All the bikers are hot alpha guys who are cunning and vicious as sharks in protecting their circle, but to those inside the circle, they're funny, sensitive, sexy and loveable. Basically perfect bikers.

There is no cliffhanger, but the seeds are sown for at least two or three more stories that I want to have told, so I'll be watching for the next releases of this series. Strongly recommend.

I gave this 3 stars, but I actually liked it quite a bit better than that. Thing is, some of the "club business" got a bit slow for me. Generally, I liked the characters and the story, though. It's a bad boy turned around by a good woman story. In this case, the good woman has a lot of issues and conflict to work through. At times some of her working through of issues became a bit repetitive. All believable, given the backstory.

I've read a number of MC books lately, and this is the first where the characters are seriously criminals. It all reminded me a bit too much of SOA. Other than The Godfather (not a romance), which I read in high school, I can't think of a book I've read where the main characters are criminals---especially a romance. Quite unusual.

Readers beware, the book is full, full, FULL of typos. As in riddled. Some of them are huge, too. As in characters changing names from sentence to sentence, and clothes changing. It's extremely distracting. I'd like to read more by this author, but I hope she and her editor pay more attention before release next time.

I was pleasantly surprised with this story. Edie the heroine was a well traveled female seeking to find out who she really was. This is because she grew up in an emotinally abusive household. Her father dictated everything and anything about her. She has a tendency to runaway whenever she gets into an argument with the hero Dawg. Dawg is apply named as he is. He is well-known for his epic sexcapades.

These two have a lot to work with in their relationship. Although they have professed their love for one another, I am not convinced of their HEA at this point. I have faith in Dawg, since he had a normal family background when compared to Edie. I also think the two incidents in his life had made him aware of what's important in life. As for Edie, I feel she needs to heal some more. With Dawg's (as well as Lanie, Brick, Eliza and the rest of the club's) help, I know she will get there.

‘Arrow of Time’ is the first book of the Marauders MC series by Lina Andersson.

I loved Edie from page one.. She experienced something horrific on her 18th birthday and the only way she knew how to deal with it was to run, so she did.. For the past six years she has been around the globe, living with 4 t-shirts and 2 pairs of jeans.. crazy right?
Now she is back.
Her older sister is married to the president of the MC and she has a little niece she has never laid eyes on. Everyone is very careful around her scared she will flee.. And fleeing she does on every argument it seemed.. so at times I wanted to strangle her, but then I kind of understood her too.
Dawg, well he is a dog..until he meets Edie, and just changes.. it was beautiful to witness because he really did redeem himself and I loved it!
Def. a different and original MC book and a must read!

What a lovely romance twist on the MC genre. While maintaining the grittiness and the more-realistic side of an MC, Lina Andersson managed to keep the relationship still sweet, quirky, and convincing between these two main characters. The people are super-sweetly perfect. Our female lead is delightfully neurotic, and the relationship is built slowly enough that it sneaks up on our male lead. It's a bit different to read a book in this genre where the "club business" doesn't really spill into the relationship part, but it's a good look at the balance a couple must walk in this way of life.

This was a great read. Well written amazing characters, unique and thought out story that wasn't at all rushed. Loved it and I really enjoyed it. Edie And Dawg were a natural fit. I'm not sure why we needed Bull's pov and I could see how some readers would of liked more peaks and dramatic falls but I don't really like unnecessary drama so I actually found it refreshing to just read a book that told a natural story.

Just didn't do it for me, I read the entire book hoping something would happen. When something did happen it was a lame attempt at best.
I think for you to write from a lot of alternate POV's you need to be an excellent author and this just feel very short for me :(. The lead female kicked ass but also annoyed me and the main shocker is that I kept reading so I had to give 2 stars for that.

Arrow of time

Edie and Dawg are crazy. Edie is a drifter hippie and Dawg a womanizing murderer/drug dealer. Mel's sister return. Brick the father/brother figure. Loved Vasco and Edie relationship as well as Vasco with Dawg. A lot of sex, drugs make ups and break ups. Cheating spouses, cute kids and serious talks.
