I'm a wife and first time mother who recently left the workforce to be a stay-at-home mom. This book couldn't have presented itself at a better time in my life. This book touches on points about being a godly wife, the importance of investing in your children, and how God really sees his daughters. Although a lot of the material presented tends to lend itself to wives and moms, there are still a lot of good nuggets that are applicable to single women as well. For me, there were pros and cons of the structure of the book - it's a collection of essays written by different women of God. I like that they were presented in bite size ideas yet still gave me a lot to chew on. However, because it was several different women, the styles were different as well so the book didn't have a consistent flow for me and took me longer to read than I would have liked. All it all, it's packed with a lot of great, biblically sound information about what God originally intended for women.

I have this on my Kindle, and I started to read it... only to get through the introduction and part of the first essay and realize my heart isn't ready for this. I'm single. I don't have the privilege of exhibiting biblical womanhood through marriage or children. I believe women and men are different, and I believe in biblical womanhood and (I assume) most/all of what is in this book... But right now I can't read another "high calling of wife- and motherhood" thing. I'd love to be a wife and mother. I'm not either, so I need to work on biblical motherhood in a different context. Wish there was more written about that (that didn't include "it's okay; I'm sure you'll be married soon!!").

Very compelling. Few books have multiple authors but it works well for this read. I was convicted and encouraged which is the hallmark of anything with Nancy Leigh Demoss' s name on it. I recommend it to all women!

Femininity is something women gain from situation or environment. Femininity is creation from God for a purpose. Women are to develop her femininity and worship God in her feminine character. Hospitality, life-nurturing, gentleness are to be wonderfully displayed for God's glory

I was looking forward to this book but felt disappointed by the end. In layout, it holds 11 different essays/articles written by various women. Some of the essays were helpful and insightful, but many of them had a predominant focus on married women and motherhood. While singles were mentioned and encouraged, it felt like we were left in a sort of grey area. So while it may be of more benefit to married ladies, it wasn’t the best book I’ve read on womanhood and single women.

So so good! This has really opened my eyes to the lost art of being feminine in this society and what it really means to be a godly woman and a good wife, what the bible really means when it says to submit to your husbands and how to fulfil what we as women were designed to do. Especially as I'm currently thinking about getting married (no I'm not engaged (yet!)) But I am thinking about it and so this helps me to prepare my heart and just prepare me for being a good wife to my future husband :)

Despite my hesitation, I really enjoyed this book!

I appreciated the direct, honest writing style of the authors. I get bored easily with most Christian books when I feel like they drag out a point that can be made in fewer pages. It was refreshing to read chapters by different authors...I didn't get bored!

Do not judge this book by it's title. It should have been named:

So, you are a christian, and you are married...now what?

Becoming a more Godly woman is a great goal. This book talks about some key areas about godly womanhood that have slipped from today's culture such as our roles as helpers for our husbands, examples of godliness for our daughters and our role in our homes. Many additional resources are mentioned in this book for a deeper dive into "Becoming God's True Woman".

For the record this was a book for a course I am taking so I am not really attempting to become God's true woman!
Would have preferred a 3.5 rating but alas, as we all know, those helpful mid-points are not available to us! Still, not a bad read.

This book is a compilation of several women authors discussing aspects of of Biblical femininity and is a much needed resources in the feminist culture of the US today. This book is broken into four parts to give a good overview of different parts of womanhood discussed in the Bible.

Part one discusses God's creation of womanhood and discusses finding our identity in who God created us to be as women. Starting at creation different Biblical passages are shared and show us how God created us to be women and that it is a good thing that we are created in His image, different from men. Our identity must be found in who God created us to be, knowing Him as Father and understanding how He sees us.

The second section discusses the challenges we face as women and living out true womanhood in a fallen world. We take an in depth look at Mary, mother of Jesus, to see the portrait of a true woman. While Wolgemuth takes some liberties in this breakdown, it is a very good description of what it means to be a woman after God's own heart. There is also a much needed discussion on discretion and what it means to live modestly in all areas of our lives.

In the third part we are reminded of the joy of living in submission to our husbands and the freedom we have in being their helpers. There is a great look at the joy of living in submission to our husbands as we live in submission to God. We also get a good look at the Trinity and the beauty of submission within it. The Holy Spirit is called our Helper, the same word used for wives. It is a privilege to live out the helper role and fulfill our God given purposes.

Part four goes into the joy of being bearers and nurturers of life and the privilege of bringing up another generation for the LORD. Whether biological, adopted or younger women in your life another way, we are all called to teach, train and encourage those younger than us in the fear and admonition of the LORD, teaching them His ways and His Word. This is our Titus 2 responsibility. This section was so encouraging as I'm learning to raise a daughter in Biblical womanhood and femininity for the LORD.

I highly encourage and recommend this read. Some of it may be hard to hear as it is completely counterculture to our feminist society, but even parts of this show women of feminists who have realized something is desperately wrong. This book is an excellent overview of the way we are to live as women of the Word.

With feminism strongly prevailing today, Christian women may know not to follow that particular philosophy of how women should act and how they should be, but many of the mantras have still pilfered the church. Many who read this book will think that it is old fashioned and soft, but I encourage those to follow the advice of these women. Following God’s plan for women will actually make you stronger than you think.

An interesting compilation of essays from various Christian women on what the Bible intends females to be. They address a broad spectrum of scenarios, touching on singleness, marriage, motherhood, and mentoring, as well as an assortment of topics, all from a biblical standpoint, including beauty, discretion, pruning, and submission. Overall, it's a good overview of biblical womanhood, but readers may want to skim through parts that may not apply to their situation.

My college blockmate and friend specially delivered this book to me a month ago and started to read it right away. It was my first time to read a book about parenting and honestly, it taught me a lot specially on handling my spiritual daughters (I'm planning to go through this with them).

It was an empowering book and a must read for every Christian woman.
