I really enjoyed this book !! :-) thank you Uma !!! I think I will be treating it like a textbook/ reference book, there are so many interesting ideas and approaches to mull over and so many composers/ thinkers I hadn’t come across before. I haven’t read many books like this but it seemed really well curated and made me think about the voice as a symbol and a vessel and a practice so much more expansively. Yay! My fav essay was Sarah Hennies, about trans art as essential but objectifying and what it means to have a trans voice and use it to express yourself. Also I felt very sophisticated that it’s half in French and English hehe
