This is a short story that is part of a series. This takes place after the first book and I recommend reading that book before this one. In this book, Sam is still searching for his son and he discovers a new lead.

As you can tell by my rating this wasn't the best offering. It is just unnecessary. There isn't any problems with the writing and the characters from the first book remain true to themselves. The problem is what purpose did this short story serve. It didn't really move the plot forward and nothing really happened so it wasn't that entertaining. It read more like the opening chapter of the next book of the series. In fact I think it would have been better served if it was the actual opening chapter for the next book.

The only thing taken from this book is that we will have a change of scenery for the next book. The next book we will be in New York. There. I did the same thing that this book did but I did in just one sentence. I just saved the readers of this review some time and some money. You are welcome. Just move onto the next novel of this series and you will be fine.

This short takes place after Adrenaline in the Sam Capra series. Sam Capra's son has been kidnapped and he is on a mission to find him.

I thought this short wasn't necessary. I would of much rather read the next story in the series. I loved Adrenaline and I had higher expectations for this book. But, it won't discourage me to read more in this series.

Terrible. Some sort of bridge to the next book. Feels like it was written by a kid in high school. I'll read the next novel, as I liked #1, but going in with a high degree of doubt.

#1.5 in the Sam Capra series. Sam's infant son has been kidnapped and Sam attempts to trace him across Europe and to the US. A slim short story bridging the kidnapping Adrenaline (2012) and the chase The Last Minute (2012). A few serviceable action sequences but nothing in the way of character or plot development.

Sam Capra's infant son has been kidnapped. The shadowy, powerful organization responsible for the abduction has thwarted Sam at every turn. But now Sam, an ex-CIA agent, has a potential lead: a picture of the woman who took his child from the clinic where he was born. The actual content here is shorter than the excerpt from the Last Minute. It is clearly a quick way to make extra money by capitalizing on Sam Capra's growing popularity. That said, it is a fun bridge between Adrenaline and The Last Minute. It had been a couple of months since I finished Adrenaline, and this brought me back into the world. It is NOT NECESSARY to read this to enjoy The Last Minute, but I actually kind of enjoyed the bridge. But like many others who have written here, I was really stunned when it was suddenly over. Quite short.

I like short stories between books. This was a not a short story, this was a prologue. It was also told as if readers were not familiar with book 1 in the series, but also not a complete book, which I don't get. Who was this written for? The people new to the series not wanting to start with Book 1? But it gave nowhere near a background.

I know many people did not like this 1.5 mini prologue, in-betweener, whatever it was.. but I will always take Sam Capra adventure, even if it is 30 pages.
Sam, action follows as he gets a lead on his kidnapped son and quickly he tries to trick the 9 Soles leader Anna into a meet; but of course it doesn't go as planned.

This was really too short, even for a novella. The purpose of a short story is to advance the narrative a bit - I'm really not sure that this was achieved here. It was a bit of information that we already knew - just given a different way. Maybe it was just me....?

Ridiculous. What treat a SINGLE chapter as a book? This should have been the first chapter of the next book in the series.

Good short story bridging the first book of the series (Adrenaline) and the next (Last Minute). Only wish I had know about this one before I read "Last Minute".

Very short novella that connects book 1 to book 2. Big cliffhanger. Will Sam find his son or is he too late.

We get to learn right from the start that this story takes place between the events of the novels Adrenaline and The Last Minute.

Well, that’s good to know, but also maybe at the same time not so good at all, since the author does such a good work with Sam Capra’s Last Chance that in the end he just leaves you hungry for more. Of course, the more you seek will come, but not until his new novel, The Last Minute, which I already have, but I didn’t get the chance to read quite yet.

To tell you the truth this is the first time I’ve read anything by Jeff Abbott and this ebook short just took my breath away. It’s not only its pace, it’s not just the action, it’s not even the troubled psyche of his protagonist that made me turn the pages like crazy; it’s the whole package.

The story starts with a bang: A rooftop chase during which Sam Capra, the owner of thirty bars all over the world, and ex-CIA agent, tries to avoid getting killed by the man whose phone he’s stolen and whom he’s just shot on the shoulder.

Sam thinks that the man’s phone holds the secret of the identity of the woman who has recently kidnapped his infant son, Daniel and he’ll stop at nothing in order to get him back. Well, the chase doesn’t last for long, as mysterious Mila comes to his rescue; she brings the man down with a hit on the head, and thus serenity for once again prevails over the night streets of Strasbourg, France, where the adventure begins.

A brief interrogation will reveal that the man is the member of an international crime ring, and Sam’s mortal enemies, called the Nine Suns. So, did they kidnap his son to get back at him or did they get the child in order to sell it?

Sam is not about to sit back and wait for the answers to come and find him. Following a tip by his hostage, whom he promised to protect, he’ll travel to London, where he’ll soon be followed by Mila, to find a woman that goes by the name of Anna.

While there they will both come almost face to face with the woman, but also have a couple of encounters with her goons, something that will, for some reason, scare her away. But where will she go next? And does she have Daniel with her?

The answers to the aforementioned questions will be found in The Last Minute, fifty pages of which you can read in this ebook.

In here we have a great plot, amazing pace and well-drafted characters for which I’d really like to learn more about. Normally I would have given it five stars, but I was so eager to find out what happens next in the end that I’ve decided that four would suffice; until I read the novel, that is.

I have never really cared for short stories as they seem to leave me unsatisfied; just as I get settled into the rhythm of the story and the author's writing - it ends. This one worked for me because it is part of a series and I know I can move on to the next installation of Sam Capra's search for his son.

Sam follows a lead to find his son but ends up back where he started. I liked it, but there's not much content here for even the $1.99 eBook-only format—weighing in at only 24 pages, that should have been a given when I purchased it. I'm pretty sure this was put out just to garner some interest in the latest Sam Capra book that either came out earlier this year or is due out soon.

Pretty sure you could skip this one and be just fine moving on to book #2 in the series without missing anything of importance.

IMPORTANT: Sam Capra's Last Chance falls between his first book Adrenaline and his second book The Last Minute. In other words, it is book 1.5 in the series - NOT 2.5.

I somehow missed adding this novella after I read it. No rating to be added because in all honesty I don't remember how I felt about it.

Short story featuring Sam Capra from his last book, Adrenaline. Also as a lead in to in soon to be released "Last Minute". Will most definitely read because Sam's newborn son is kidnapped and he is on the trail of the baby sellers.

a bit of nothing really. Especially as I've already read 2 of the books after this. should be included at the end of adrenaline instead of a novella

This was ok; I didn't realize this was before Last Minute so I didn't enjoy it as much.

If you're reading Sam Capra books, make sure you read this book BEFORE Last Minute.
