Some books are nice additions to a library, and others are cornerstone selections. This book is one of those foundational references you can rely on for years to come. From its easy-to-use format, to the collection of 200 pattern stitches, this book is a quick and easy guide to all things knitting. The techniques and insight you glean from Knitting - The Complete Guide can be applied to any project, such as the socks, gloves, hat and sweater projects featured inside.
I got this book in the Kindle edition so I would always have a knitting reference book with me. It covers techniques, stitches and basic patterns for sweaters, shawls, socks, hats and gloves. I found it to be a great reference book and the garment patterns en able me to design a sweater and have all I need to knit a project with me without juggling a bunch of books.
This is a good general reference as well as a useful guide for a beginning knitter. The pictures in the section on how to knit are very useful for showing where the needles should go in the stitches. There is a substantial section with photos of swatches to demonstrate what different stitch patterns look like up close in a well-defined stitch yarn. The projects section is short and basic, but the patterns could be good for making items to give to charity or just for practice.
