Journey of Jim Glass #3

The Horses: The Journey of Jim Glass

Rate this book

Jim Glass' long-sought peace is shattered when the ex-soldier and ex-Ranger discovers six of his corralled horses dead, their throats slit. Though he dreads doing so, he'll strap on his weapons and go hunting for the culprit—because someone capable of such a foul, thoughtless killing is capable of anything.

The dusty town of Domingo has been targeted by a pair of blood-crazed brothers and their Texas cohorts with robbery, murder and mayhem on their minds, and that's where Glass will make his stand—even though his only support is an old Indian named Hairy Legs and an over-the-hill lawman named Trout. Because a home's the one thing a man's got that's worth fighting—and dying—for.

JIM GLASS'S HORSES

This is story but it has a believable plot and characters. This episode could have happened in this era. Jim Glass, an ex-Texas Ranger, who had retired and purchased a small ranch where he would raise and sell horses. As you read this story, you will feel the happiness, sadness that the characters in this felt. The loneliness of little Paris, the town's only soiled dove, who wanted more from life than just laying with any man who had the price. Jim who fell in love with Luz Otero, a widow whose husband died over a year ago. One night a storm, unbeknownst to Jim, a shadow appears carrying a knife, it's what does with the knife that will make everyone very angry. He cuts the throats of six horses, Jim's horses. The limping shadow is swallowed by the surrounding darkness, after committing such a hideous crime.
Ardell and Cicero Pie two brothers whose only aim in life seems to be killing, stealing and raping.
Ardell Pie is mentally challenged, described as an overgrown kid in a man's body, he hears voices who tell him to kill...schizophrenia..Cicero is just a blood thirsty killer without any consciousness of wrongdoings.
Hairy Legs, a Mescalero Apache, a great tracker helps Jim track the men who destroyed his horses.
This adventure is sad ending to a man who finally found the woman he loves and she loves him. All I will say once a lawman always a lawman, never back down no matter how dangerous the situation..READ BILL BROOKS, THE AUTHOR..
A smooth writer, action packed from beginning to the end...REST EASY JIM GLASS....
