Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

This series just keeps getting better and better! This is book #2 of the "The Skulls." This was Murphy and Tate's book, and I loved these two as a couple. They had a past that included a huge betrayal from Murphy. He was a prospect who was in charge of taking care of Tate. Mainly because Tate has a huge target on her back from being the daughter of the president of the club. From the time Tate was sixteen, Murphy was by her side through so much. He even took her to her prom, and protected her from a lot of the mean girls that teased Tate about her weight. By eighteen, they were both in love with one another, but due to circumstances and a huge betrayal, Murphy went to another Motorcycle Club and Tate was left with a broken heart.

Eight years later, Tate is no longer the soft, sweet girl that she was in her teens. Murphy arrives back into the club, and slowly secrets are revealed and not everything is as it appeared to be. One thing remains the same, and that is when Tate and Murphy are in the same room, sparks fly in a big way. Tate is bitter though, and won't give him the time of day. Murphy so badly wants her back, and will do anything in his power to possess her again. Tate is a hard sell though, as she is tired of coming second to the club. Her dad put her second, and then Murphy; she decides she has had enough and leaves the club to try things on her own. There is danger lurking in the shadows though, and Tate is not safe. Will she ever be able to forgive Murphy? Will Tate realize that the club life is where she belongs, or will she find that a new life is what she needs? One thing is for sure, and that is this book is full of action, sex, and drama. All of the main reasons why I love reading a book about Motorcycle Clubs.

I loved this book as I got to know all of the members even better the second time around. I am developing my favorites, and eager to read more books on the club members that I am growing to love. This book had way more emotion in it than Lash's book. There was a lot more that went on, as well as there were some events that took place that were heart breaking. All in all, there was a great balance between romance, sex, and a fast paced storyline. I am hooked on this series, and eager to continue on to Nash's story next. It looks like he has fallen in to some big trouble, and I just hope he will be able to climb out of the hole he is digging for himself very quickly.
Sam Crescent is an author that definitely has my attention now, and I look forward to her future reads!

I accidentally bought this entire series before reading the first one. It was a mistake but now that I have paid for them I feel compelled to finish them all to get my moneys worth. Let me tell you, it was painful and slow moving through this one. Much like the first one with Angel and Lash, Murphy and his love for Tate is based on very little other than his apparent attraction for her larger body-type. I really really got sick and tired of all the females that were "old lady" material being described as chubby or fat or, affectionately, full-figured. I guess in this town there are two types of women: fat ones that are sweet and skinny ones that are sluts.. This certainly doesn't paint women in a positive light. If the author was trying to set a more realistic beauty standard, then they should have included a spectrum of women because women are all complex and don't come in two sizes. Come on!

I hated the first book, but I thought I'd still give this a chance.
if you want to read a book about weak woman and men who treat their woman like property, this is the book for you. If not this is going to be a huge disappointment.

3.5 "Taphy" Stars!

description

After reading Lash, I was super excited to find out that Tate and Murphy's story was next. As you all know, Tate had thought that Murphy had left The Skulls MC and joined their archenemy, The Lions. Still reeling from that betrayal and the after math of him breaking her heart, she puts up a wall around all those around her and develops a tough, bitch facade.

But, in true book fashion, this does not faze Murphy (a.k.a "Dillion" in private to Tate) as he knows her true Tate lurking behind that false exterior front she exudes.

Determined to win her back, Murphy sets out against all odds to convince Tate of his everlasting love for her.

Only...with danger in the air, daddy bossman to deal with, and a feisty to convince...how will it all end for these two estranged lovers?

My verdict: I really liked this book a lot!! Although Tate could be a royal bitch at times I did get where she was coming from. A lot of it stemmed from always feeling second best and repeatedly put behind the club by her own father and love. If I were her, I too, would act out after that. I mean, Tate was initially a really sweet girl but after the whole Murphy debacle went down she hardened. I think that reaction is only natural.

As for Murphy, well, he IS a hot biker man. What more can I say?! LOL

Anyways, it looks like Nash (Lash's bro) and Sophie's story will be up next. And then I'm hoping for TinyxEva and KillerxKelsey(a.k.a "Cherry").

Until then biker fans!

*And yes, I realize that I did not add pics of Tate! Oh well! ;)

It's incredibly easy to keep on one-clicking books in this series!

Murphy... I get that he felt the need to protect Tate and I get that he knew he had to be the one to make sure everything came crumbling down but crap... I wish he could've found a loophole somewhere. I simply abhor the "I imagined it was you & that's the only way I could get through it" reasoning. Granted, he was in a different situation than most but still... Did he really think that Tate would forgive and forget so easily? Like she really needed that picture in her mind.

Tate was a strong-a** woman. I definitely wouldn't have had the lady balls she possessed when she forgave Murphy for everything that happened during the past couple of years. I just couldn't do it. It'd be too damn painful for me and I'd probably think about it non-stop BUT I'm happy that Tate was able to get past it because her and Murphy make for a cute couple.

Besides the whole f***ing around with club wh*res thing (yes, because his life was threatened but just thinking about his ability to get it up makes me sick), I just couldn't believe that the club would actually put Kate, Fern and Mikey in the same "category". I truly laughed out loud for that explanation. C'mon... really?

And WTF ended up happening with Angel?! Four sentences to explain a huge thing but make it sound like practically nothing? I just did NOT get why that had to be thrown in there.

Then we get the epilogue. What a great tease. Sam Crescent sure knows how to suck you in and make you clamor for the next book in her series! On my way to one-click Nash as we speak!!

After the first book, I knew that things were going to get rough because little miss Tate had her war paint on and was in no mood for second chances, forgiveness, or reasons.

And Lord have mercy, this book shot out of the cannon just the way I thought it would. Tate had legit gripes- to a certain extent, but she had to get her witch on and whipped up the drama making it all about her. Yes, I had issues with the heroine if you can't tell. The hero stuck with it and in the end things worked out since this is a romance.

But beyond the storms of the romance there were the troubles coming at the club from a new direction and other club lives had stuff going on.

I'm finding a pattern in these books with the curvy female heroines and their friends. The good gals have some extra curves and softness and the skanks are slender. What gives? Beautiful women come in all shapes.

These are hot, passionate, and gritty. Not bad for biker romances.

Like the last book this is your softer type of biker romance, the thing I liked more about this book is that now the characters are familiar and it adds to the book what I didn't like so much was Tate's constant impression of Mr Angry, yes she's been betrayed and had her heart broken but really enough is enough. Murphy is great and the introduction of Killer is good.
I personally didn't like the ending and I'm in two minds about reading the next book since I do think that £3.36 for 162 pages is overpriced.

Pretty good biker/motor cycle club second chance romance. Lots of hot sex and dirty talking. Weak plot but the characters are interesting. The author should work on portraying bad ass biker club men as they are. In both books the author had the bad bikers (in a US motor cycle club) saying "that would be lovely"....the word "lovely' was used a lot by alpha hot men. Not realistic, at least in the US. Little things like that throw me off and make the book seem a little less realistic to me.

Great 2nd entry to this series. This couple was great together.I liked that the heroine took no bull and gave as good as the H threw at her.
Second chance at love books are one of my fav's and this book was no exception. After 8 years apart, the H really had to work his way back into the h's affections.
Looking forward to reading the other books in this series.Sam Crescent did a great job with this book ,

To borrow an overused and annoying word from the book "Erm..." I just can't handle these books. I want to, I really do, but I can't. The story is just all over the place, it's simple and forced and awkward. There are so many great possibilities, but it's just not there yet. I can't go on, I'm sorry, Nash, but I'll never get your story, I have to waive the DNF on this series all together.

This one was filled with so much angst for such a short read! I know a lot of people don't like Tate's attitude but I can definitely understand why she reacts the way she has. She's developed such a tough outer shell to protect everyone she loves and most importantly herself. My heart truly ached for her.... what's so wrong with wanting to be loved and put first?! I was glad to see that she did break away and have some independence for herself even if it was short lived. One thing that irritated the hell out of me was the fact that she . It's still a 4 star read because I am a super sucker for second chance love stories and throughout it all Murphy's love didn't change!

Good

Another good story in this series
I feel the people were mean to Tate and gave her crap when she didn’t deserve it but she was a strong character who I loved. Murphy did what he did for his club and for Tate!!!! Now on to the next book

This was a pretty good read. I liked it better than the first installment (which I DNF). There were typos scattered throughout the book, though, which I couldn't much tolerate. Therefore, it left me questioning if this book was actually edited like it claimed.

Well, onto the story. I liked that there was a back story to Tate and Murphy's romance. Murphy started out as Tate's babysitter when she was 16. They eventually fall for each other, but suddenly Murphy "betrays" The Skulls and leaves to be part of The Lions. Hurt and pained by Murphy's betrayal and from always being second priority to The Skulls, Tate decides to move out of her home and cut ties with her family and start a new life for herself. After spying on The Lions and getting what he was after, Murphy is back with The Skulls and he's not letting Tate get away. He has to make her trust him again and understand that what he did was to protect her.

As for the characters, I did find myself liking the heroine Tate. She was quite the bitch, but in a good way. She had a backbone and wasn't afraid to stand up for herself and voice her opinions. I liked Murphy as well. He made a lot of sacrifices to be with Tate and I liked how he never gave up on her. Now, onto the sex. The sex scenes were steamy. However, no protection was ever mentioned when Tate and Murphy had sex. I usually have no issue with this in romance novels, but with this I did. I was disappointed when Tate never questioned Murphy especially with her knowing that he slept with other women while he was with The Lions. I mean, he could be stringing along a bunch of STDs with him. But, later on in the story Murphy did admit to Tate that while staying with The Lions he was forced to have sex with women and got checked monthly to make sure he was clean...so there's a little reassurance from that.

This book did have quite a lot of drama, violence, danger and a bit of angst involved. Bullets were flying and the main characters just had major issues that needed to be dealt with. One thing's for sure; these characters are not saints and angels. They're fucked up people. What they do leaves you questioning who the good guys really are. They do things that are frowned upon and kill for reasons that left me scratching my head at times (e.g. killing ex-boyfriends just because...) WTF?

In the end, I'd say pick this up if you're into biker romances and effed up characters with issues. The ending of this book sets up the next book which is going to be Nash and Sophie's story...and with how the epilogue ended with Nash I think his story is going to be more effed up. In the end, I give Murphy a rating of 3 stars.

The first book made me reluctant to read this one. And yet... This book was far better than the first one.

In this book, Sam Crescent gave us some throwbacks into the past and we get to see the evolution of the relationship between Tate and Murphy. Damn, they were super cute! We feel the chemistry between the two of them but also the weight of everything that has been left unsaid. We feel Tate's hurt and Murphy's guilt.

Tate can be hard to figure out but I really liked her for several reasons.
- Firstly, she doesn’t take s*it from anyone.
- Secondly she is not the kind of girl to wait for a man. She will do what she has to do.
- Thirdly, she knows what she wants and she will stop at nothing. Finally a woman who stands her ground, which — obviously — scares men away. But not Murphy.

What pissed me off though is that no one understood why Tate needed some distance with the club. I mean, sometimes people deserve to be put first and to think about them first. I mean, you deserve to live the life you want and not only be second-best. Everyone thinks she is a b*tch when she just wants to come first and she has to apologize to everyone but she shouldn't.

Regarding Murphy... I think I just fell in love with him. His devotion to Tate just made me melt down like an ice-cream in the sun. They are probably one of my favorite couple, ever!

I cannot wait to read what will happen between Eva and Tiny. They finally got to sleep together but the poor woman screamed out loud that it was the worst night ever, haha! I am just dead. And that ending though... it cannot be considered as a cliffhanger but damn, you really want to know what will happen with Nash...

*****for Tate being a very strong woman, taking a stand..
👏👏👏👏👏 forTate for making Murphy regret for,pay for sleeping with countless whores for year!!!!

♥️ Murphy promised Tate his love and loyalty, when she was 18,he was her first and only 💞

Right after that Murphy left to the other club without looking back...

Tate was devastated... everytime she encountered Murphy he was shagging a white🤮
She went after him ,heard him telling all ugly thing about her to Lions..
Now after 8 years Murphy reappeared, he was making a claime atTate ..
Tate saw her mother 💔 and 😭 throughout her married life, she has to see her father cheating on her mother everyday...

Now the man whom she trusted above else left her and whoring around...

💥Here is Murphy, he loved Tate...
joined other club to destroy , Tate s enemies..

He was forced by. Jeff on gun point to sleep with whores, as Lions have no respect for any woman...
During his stay with them he slept again and again with whores.....

👏👏👏👏👏For Murphy for fighting for his lost love, and making Tate forgive him..
He understood her pain and grief over his betrayal,
He never lost faith, fought and pleed unconditionally for her Forgiveness and love...

I am a little torn with this one. I loved Tate and Murphy, but editing issues got in the way. I found myself having to reread things to understand what's happening. Tate's the MC prez' daughter who falls in love with Murphy as a teen. He falls for her too, but there was no way they could ever work. He spends years as a double agent for rival MC, forced to do unspeakable things. He leaves Tate broken hearted. She distances herself from the club and her dad. Drama with drug gang and her uncle Alex brings her back to the club and to Tate. She eventually reconciles with everyone& her and Tate get their HEA. Liked the epilogue with Nash. Nice to see Lash and Angel happy. I see Nash as the "bad boy" of the group, can't wait to read his book next!

This one was much improved over the first in the series. This is Tate and Murphy's story. Tate is the daughter of the President of the MC club. She grew up know nothing but being protected by the club. During her high school years Murphy was assigned to babysit Tate. While other club members hated the duty Murphy loved it. Always there for Tate he even took her to her prom when she didn't have a date. That night they shared their first kiss, professed their love then was torn apart by Murphy's duty to the club. Can Tate get over Murphy's betrayal? You'll have to read to find out.

So this was a mess. Murphy was horrible. He didnt need to volunteer himself to do that job at all. And then it was great she wasnt forgiving him and wanted to be first in people's lives but everyone made her feel crap and like she was being spoilt and selfish and in the end she was apologising for saying she wanted to be first to the club. Angel acts like a 5 year old, she is such a joke. I'm hoping it gets better over time because ive liked some of her later books. And I get so invested, even if it's crap I wanna know what happens to the characters.

Book 2 in the Skulls series.
This book had all the characters from the first book and a few more. Everyone blended well and Sam Crescent create a great atmosphere. It is great how small snippets about the main characters from the first book are weaved into this story without taking anything from this book.
Looking forward to the next book.

Murphy - Book 2 - The Skulls - By Sam Crescent

This is the second book in The Skulls MC series and focuses around Murphy and Tate. We saw glimpses of their relationship in book one and now we finally get the whole story. Murphy/Dillon at twenty eight has truly earned his patch within The Skulls. He started as a prospect and did all the required jobs including babysitting the President, Tiny's daughter Tate. After spending time together they fall deeply for one another, promises are made then sadly broken as the time has come for Murphy to take a mission for the club, go under cover with a rival MC The Lions. Leaving Tate behind and breaking her heart in the process. When the truth comes out and Murphy is back with The Skulls where he belongs he needs to win back his woman and prove she is all he needs and wants.
Tate Johnson is a powerhouse she takes no crap from anyone male or female she is definitely her father, Tiny's daughter. That being said Tate has a softer side that not many see because she uses her sass to protect herself. She loves Murphy but is scared to give into her feelings because she knows he will always out the club first. Tate is a great character and has many sides which she shows with Murphy, Tiny, Angel and her new friend from work Kelsey Ryan. She also has a strained relationship with her Uncle Alex, Alexander Allen who I think we will be seeing more of in the future. I loved that we got to see Tate and Murphy from their first meeting to the present day it showed how their love came to be and grew from strength to strength. I also loved that we got to see more of Lash and Angel. Nash and his woman he wants Sophia, hopefully there is more of them to come, and Tiny and Eva, Tiny has some serious work to do there! It was also good that we met more members along the way, Zero, Killer, Whizz and Time to name a few, plus others from the previous book, who will all hopefully be having a story told. I think Killer and Kelsey are going to be delicious. Overall this is a great story with strong characters, action and heat with banter and humour along the way. It was also great to have the female lead be plus size and get the hero. There is still so much to look forward to with this series, the possibilities are endless! Happy Reading.

I liked this book. The storyline, I thought was good. Murphy and Tate had good chemistry. Murphy bothered me with wanting Tate to just forgive what he did. A woman doesn't get over betrayal like that easily, no matter the reason he did it. He said he was forced to have sex with those women, but yet Tate saw him at the mall groping a woman. There was no one there to force him at that time. I think she let him off to easy, and all her friends telling her just to forget it was not cool. Don't get me wrong, I liked Murphy, I just didn't understand his reasoning about it was for Tate. I understood Tate's reasoning more than his.

One of my problems with this story is the over use of letting us know in every sentence the woman is bigger. There is no need, it's overkill. My other questions is, these guys say they prefer the women curvier, why are the club girls who they run to all skinny? I don't get it, they choose the club girls so why not curvier women? I also don't understand this club as a whole, they don't seem to have any structure to them.

The book needs editing, it's really bad. Overall, not a bad read, I liked this one better than Lash and Angel's story. I am going to read the next book in this series, I'm curious about Nash and Tiny who right now I don't care for.

Tate was tired of the Skulls and tired of Murphy. He hurt her and she isn’t going back. They always think of the club first. Well that life isn’t for her. She wants to be first in the man she loves and if that can’t happen that it is time to move on. Murphy aka Dillon was undercover for 2 yrs for Tiny. He knows he has a lot to make up for with Tate and he is going to win her over Her being stubborn and pushing him aside isn’t going to stop him.

I get why Tate was so upset. She always saw it as her or the club. It takes one person to set her straight and make her listen. Murphy is one dedicated man. He was always there for her, even when she was so angry with him. You learn a lot about the club and more about the members. Kelsey comes into play with being Tate's co-worker. We also have 3 members from the Lions that are now prospecting to be Skulls. The passion that Murphy and Tate have is hot. I look forward to reading about Nash and Sophia. As well as what will happen with Tiny and Eva.

Murphy is raw and sexy story. Murphy and Tate are the Hero and the h. Tate is the club princess being the Pres daughter. Murphy had babysitting duties as a prospect and Tate was his to protect until she turned eighteen and he got patched in. They fell in love young but other things kept them apart, now years later Murphy is back to finally make Tate his. Tate will have other ideas, she does a great job of pushing him away and keeping her distance. Murphy will pull out all his naughty tricks to get her under him. Tate is one tough character, she stands her ground and doesnt back down. She is sassy, funny, sweet and gives it back to these alpha. Crescent gives us more information of the Skulls history, past and new characters will introduced. So if you read Lash, then you have to read Murphy. I would follow this series in reading order to better understand characters and storyline. Murphy's timeline starts after Lash. Happy Reading!!
