AUTHOR Johanna M Rae is a former fashion designer and married mother of three. She lives with her family, and two adorable ragdoll cats. Balancing family life and her writing schedule doesn't always leave much time for leisure, but in the quiet moments, Johanna can be found with her nose in a book or crocheting up a storm.

There is a common theme when you read Johanna's stories. Underdogs and outcasts form a 'chosen family' - people with something to prove or overcome, who will stop at nothing to protect their own. You'll also be knee-deep in suspense, plot twists, witty banter and plenty of humor. Don't forget the romance... You're not going to want to miss that! Until then, there is coffee to be had.

Danny, Jody, ISIC and their friends are back....and the story is just getting better.

Having been gifted with the second book in this series, I gamely gave this one a go and was very pleasantly surprised. In my review of the first book, The Mercenary, I had found that I had issues primarily with the flow and "looseness" of the storyline. With the second book, I could tell right from the start that the author had really grown as a writer. The storyline felt like it flowed better, the writing was tighter and the characters were starting to feel a lot more relatable. I was investing in them a lot more also (I think I might be a little bit Team Luke FYI)

Things just kept improving through the whole book and it felt like Johanna Rae had really started to hit her stride. I also loved that this story had a lot more of a kiwi vibe giving it a unique point of difference from other stories in this genre and making it stand out.

I normally have several books on the go and by the end of The Fury, those books were abandoned because I HAD to know what was going to happen next! Really looking forward to starting on The Butcher.

What can I say about this book.

I have been looking forward to this book for months. To find out what happens to Danny and Jodie and the other members of the team and to find out what happens to Luke after the cliff hanger from The Mercenary.

This book follows on from where The Mercenary finishes and we see more into the lives of the ISIC team. We learn more about each team member and how they fit in within the group.

This book also throws some curve balls at some of the group and we see how they cope with them.

I can't wait until the next book, The Butcher, and see what happens with Danny, Jodie, Luke, Rufus, Eddie, Ainsley, Adam and the rest of the crew of Danny's ISIC team.

*This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*

Marvellous Story! Johanna Rae does it again captivating her audience with her amazing characters and her heartstopping action packed and adventure filled stories, leaving us salivating for more in the end. I couldn't put the book down for a second and I can't wait to read more!

When I first meet the characters I instantly fell in love with them all! they are each and everyone a unique and interesting lot of people. The first book you get to see them work as a unit getting to know them and see how the group functions as a whole. In this one you get to see what happens when a couple of wenches are thrown in and the groups dynamic is thrown off kilter. I think this is the best part of the team, seeing how they work when things aren't always the best between its members.

Johanna Rae did an amazing job on this one and I don't think anyone could have done any better! I can't wait to see what she has in store for book three! the groups off kilter dynamic in this one I am hopping will all come together in the third book and work itself out and I am excited to see the new members and if the villain will finally be caught!

the villain is one of the best parts of this series! totally diabolical, evil and seaming to always be just out of reach. Just when you think they are finally going to close in on them and it will be all over the slippery little devil makes an escape. Total brilliance!

I would definitely say I enjoyed this one even more then the first! and can't wait to read the next! don't miss out on your chance to read this story either! TBR your copy today!

The Fury is a great sequel in the Therian Secrets series and I enjoyed being back in this world of shifters. It begins straight after the end of The Mercenary, with Jodie going stir crazy as she is being kept in the fortress while the team are out looking for Luke.

We see all the characters from the first book and I liked getting to see all my favourite characters again. I think there was a lot of character growth with most of them in this book. Some examples being that Jodie is coming to terms with her animal, Danny is trying to juggle work with his new relationship and Rufus is unsure of the direction of his life. Luke also has time to ponder his thoughts as he spends a lot of time alone. We also learn a lot more about each individual in the team; the names of their roles and what they do. There is a lot of action, both fighting and in the bedroom. Relationships are also tested and friendships are strained. But when it comes down to it, this secret group works well as a team when it comes to the crunch and their minds are on the game.

A felt this book was a bridge in the full story. I did really enjoy the plot but I found no real confrontations in it. There was a lot of plotting and plans acted upon as well as some life changing decisions made, but I wanted to see some major ass kicking that I think will be coming in the next book (fingers crossed). Don't get me wrong, the guys to kick some ass, but not who I really wanted to see hurt!! I think that Johanna has again done a great job with the Therian Secrets series and I am looking forward to The Butcher and seeing the changes that are going to come into play.

Absolutely amazing!! I can say that I enjoyed this as much as the first! Thought provoking, captivating and utterly fascinating!

In this second book, we follow Jodi as she is thrust even deeper into the world of shifters and ISIC. After the fiasco with Luke and other contributing factors, Jodi's life has dramatically changed but thankfully she still has her two best friends who stand firmly by her side.

Danny and Jodi's relationship grows stronger than ever and they learn more about each other every day. It was nice to see the relationship flourish with Eddie and Ainsley, despite setbacks and misunderstandings. I am curious to see where the couple is headed.

During this second book, I feel that we really got to know the characters, and learn a little bit more history about each of them. We saw some of their past and what made them who they are and how they fit into the team. I really liked getting to know Rufus and I wish the best for that guy!

The first book really laid the foundation and groundwork for this book to take on the conflicts and the different situations that always seemed to come up. The characters all had a good start in The Mercenary and we were able to see them grow and see them in more detail in The Fury.

Really enjoyed reading this and am excited to see what is yet to come.

When we ended THE MERCENARY there were a lot of questions I still had in this wild world Ms. Rae had created. I wanted to know more about Jody and her Brother Luke, about Danny and about Eddie and Ainsley.

Since book one, I was drawn to Eddie and Ainsley's story. I had desperately wanted to know more about them and to see what their relationship was going to develop into. I also wanted to know what was going to happen to Luke. When I first met Luke I scrunched up my nose at him, a boar, what could be sexy about a boar? Since then I've gotten to know him ....

My only issue with The Fury is that it felt like a continuation of Jody and Danny's story. I felt like 'their' story had been told in THE MERCENARY and now it was time for another couple to take center stage. Maybe I just wanted more Eddie and Ainsley page time.

I look forward to reading more of this wonderful shifter world of New Zealand when THE BUTCHER comes out, soon I hope. Ms. Rae provides an enjoyable read at a consistent pace. Her books are long but you don't realize you're reading a 150,000+ word book once you dive into the world.

Just like with THE MERCENARY she was able to keep me captivated throughout the whole book.

I give this a 4.5 star rating.

Yay! Another fantastic book by Johanna. I was super excited for this book to come out. I absolutely loved the first one and fell in love with all the characters. Which is hard not too. And The Fury was everything I expected it to be.

I had the impression that the book would be more about Rufus and him finding his Eros but it seemed to be more about Danny. Which is totally fine by me because he is my favourite! I could read books about him all day long lol.

I don't want to give any spoilers away for those that haven't had a chance to read the book yet but I will say it's every bit as good as the first. From the first page you are pulled straight into the story, it's packed with action. We see Danny struggle between his relationship with Jodie, who is still coming to terms with her beast, and his work. He's finally realised that the General is a total dousche. Hooray! We also see Rufus wanting to make more of his life. There's also Ainsley and Eddie, who continually struggle to make a go of their relationship. Even though the book seemed to be more about Danny, it was still filled with the other characters too. Which is fab!

So once again Johanna has wrote another outstanding book. Next one please!! Lol, I already can't wait.

COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN.........

###NO SPOILERS##

After the first Therian book, I didn't know what more could happen but Ms. Rae did it again! The characters continue to develop and it is fun to laugh and cry with them. Again a great balance of action, mystery, love, romance, drama and a little steamy lovin'. I do recommend that you start with "The Mercenary", the first book in the series. While they could stand alone, they are better read in order to understand what is going on with the many plots, twists and turns. I am looking forward to "The Butcher" (book 3 of the Therian Series) which should be very interesting. You will have to read these first two to find out who he is and why they call him "The Butcher" I am happy to recommend this book to anyone young or old. You will fall in love with the heroes and their lady loves and truly hate the villains. KUDOS Ms. Rae on a book well written..

I truly enjoyed the first one and was wondering what would come with the second book. Johanna did not disappoint. It is a fantastic second book in the series building expertly on the first one. The plot is very intricate and I loved it. do of course miss I am looking forward to the next one, especially since Rufus has become one of my favorite characters. He is a friend I wish I had and seems like someone I can relate to.

Overall the characters are developing nicely since the first one. Jodie however was a tad annoying for parts of this book but overall had her act together. Danny is off course another favorite of mine.

Johanna is an artist of her craft and makes reading fun. Her pace is great and she guides you though her story. I can't wait for the next one.

I have received this book from the author for an honest review.

This is the second book in the Therian Secrets series. This book has it all and I didn't want this one to end but I know that the next book in this series will be just as amazing. It begins straight after the end of The Mercenary, with Jodie going stir crazy as she is being kept in the fortress while the team are out looking for Luke. I can't wait until the next book, (The Butcher) and see what happens with Danny, Jodie, Luke, Rufus, Eddie, Ainsley, Adam and the rest of the crew of Danny's ISIC team.

I cannot wait for The Butcher. Most shifter books have the basics, Bears, Cats and wolves. I love that Johanna has gone out of the box, Boars... who would have thought of that. Birds. Even Polar Bears. I cannot wait to read more.

This series is EVERYTHING!!
Absolutely loving book one I found myself quickly immersed in book two, The Fury.
Not being able to put this series down has made me realise I’ve been missing out this whole time. The way Johanna Rae sketches the perfect picture in your mind makes this a very realistic read.
I simply cannot get enough.

Just as life was looking up for Luke Fletcher, it plummeted faster than he could summon his shift. Being chained up by the enemy is one thing, being able to keep his sanity is another.
Being involved more than Danny would like, he’s conflicted between keeping Jodie protected while trying to rescue Luke.
When past meets present and even more conflict erupts within the unit, will Danny be able to lead his team while helping Jodie to evolve into her new life and the trouble it brings?

I can’t even describe the feelings this story emits. There are no lack of events or sympathetic characters in this read, in fact there is such an abundance you’ll be itching for more.
I’m looking forward to the next instalment of this series and thereafter. Johanna Rae has fast become one of my favourite authors.

This is book two in the Therian Secrets series and comes highly recommended.

This is the second installment of the Therian Secrets series. If you love shifters as much as I do, it's a series you will want to not only get, but read over and over. The author has a way of bringing her characters to life that I have not seen in any other author. She makes you feel as if you are right there, living the story with them. Captivating, is how I would describe the works of this author. I was sucked in from the very beginning with the first book in the series, The Mercenary. The details are so well written, that you can picture the scenes, the characters in your head and get them right. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves this genre, and cannot wait for the next installment!

What a great series

I love this author and her easy style of transporting me into her shifter land of fantasy .
Her stories encompass love sex mystery murder and empathy
The hardest part is ending the story and having to wait for the next nook in the series
