Celebrate the Divine Feminine; Reclaim Your Power with Ancient Goddess Wisdom is an introduction to the Sacred Feminine, and a history, or "her-story," of the evolution of the goddess. Reclaim Your Power with Ancient Goddess Wisdom is full of information on the Goddess as well as being a "how-to" book for others who might want to put on their own sacred circles for women. The book is divided into three parts. Part I explains why the Divine Feminine is important in our contemporary times and provides important background information on the Goddess. Part II is a "how to" piece providing detailed information on how to build an altar, lead rituals, and create sacred circles. Part III provides information on seven different manifestations of the Divine Feminine and offers insights as to why they still have value in our contemporary times. They are the Neolithic Goddess, Grandmother Spider, Demeter and Persephone, Hecate, Lakshmi and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
This isn't really a book, I would call it an informative leaflet or pamphlet. Subtracting the disclaimer at the start and the 'about the author' section at the end, it is under 30 pages long. In large font at that, with plenty of white space. I read it while taking a bath and was left with time to spare as the water hadn't even cooled by the time I got to the end.
There are an alarming number of errors in grammar and formatting within these scant pages - words run together, words which should be one word made into two 'witch craft' being an example. Words like 'also' appearing twice in short sentences. All of which suggest this wasn't given even a cursory read through before it was published. It also makes me doubt the facts being presented in the book.
Despite this, there is a page of other sources to explore, a ritual that might be interesting to practice (though it is set up for a group and there is no solitary wording) and a guided meditation (which you could record for yourself, but which the book advises buying a recording of from the author's website). Those things might be of use to you, if you are just starting out in your research on this goddess.
The book is however retailing on Amazon UK at £11.60 - a grossly inflated price for a book you could conceivable roll into a drinking straw. I got my copy from eBay for £4 and I think even that is too much! (the seller didn't specify the number of pages!) I think the author would do better to group her leaflets into one book about the goddesses - to make it worth the money, and worth printing.
The book, or excerpt from a book as one comes in find out, is thought out and well-informed. However, the title is misleading because it doesn't actually debate if Hecate is a Queen or Crone. This excerpt references parts of the book you don't get with this unit, which is taken from the middle of the book. I understand that's a marketing tactic. At least use the first chapter and make it clear that's all it is. Wait until the end of the book for all the links. Otherwise, it feels like clickbait, especially when the excerpt is so short.
Short read but there isn’t a lot to be known about Hecate so I understand why. There is a lot of good information on her in this book so I still highly recommend it.
