The Pain and the Power: Sequel to The Fang and the Flower

Rate this book
The fated mates never dreamed one of them would be consumed by Bloodlust. Now, she is his only hope to break it.

Chrysanthemum and Julian long to enjoy their lives as blissed-out newlyweds. But after a foiled assassination attempt, Julian is prematurely thrust into his role as White Saber—the leader of the tiger shifters. Now, they face death threats and pressure from every side as they work to bring unity to Tigrine.

To make matters worse, Julian becomes plagued by Bloodlust—turning him into a bloodthirsty menace by day but leaving him a loving mate by night…for now. If Chrysanthemum doesn’t figure out how to break the Bloodlust, it will slowly consume Julian until his humanity is gone and he destroys the society he was destined to save, along with his relationship.

While unraveling the ties that bind Julian to the Bloodlust, Chrysanthemum questions whether she has the power to save him—and Tigrine—before the decision is made to put him down for good.

If you like a heroic female lead, a bit of violence, and a morally gray touch-her-and-die male lead who will burn down the world for his mate, then you’ll love J.J. Wright’s captivating and shockingly intense sequel to The Fang and the Flower.

This book is another easy & quick read, difficult to put down, and interesting for the entire duration!

The details and plot-line move fluidly and there is so much more to grasp within each of the characters this time around.

I loved the biblical symbolism and parallels, this move was a show-stopping finale to a great duology and I feel blessed to have read both this year.

Filled with emotion and a testimony of victory through love and loss and sacrifice, this book will have you experiencing all of the feels and leaving you satisfied yet also wishing there was a part 3 of the happy ending!

Enjoyable read, would highly recommend! 4.75 stars!
