This second part does not differ much from the previous one, from my point of view. It's nice because it's so easy to read. The protagonists are Libby and Cal's siblings. Sunny and Jacob, who are strong and contradictory personalities. They love and hate each other just as quickly. It has the light style of the previous one but with features of Nora Roberts. I read it in one day, I recommend it as a closing.

This story from 1990 was just a bit dated, the technology is quaint. Other than that, I thought this a five-star read.

A time traveler comes to present-day (well, 21 years ago) Earth seeking his missing brother about whom we read in Time Was. Dear bro is away for a few weeks doing stuff in the wild with his anthropologist love and cannot be reached. In the meantime, our heroine, the sister-in-law of our hero's brother, acts as hostess. No evil villain, no suspense elements, no crime to battle. Roberts is such a skilled writer that these elements are not necessary.

A lot of the story consists of these two intriguing characters striking sparks off each other, and falling in love in spite of themselves. I loved the surprise ending.

I received this as a present, as seems to be the norm, it was repackaged and updated with a new cover, with the first book “Time Was” and so the person who gifted it to me thought it was her newest book.

To be honest, this is crap, an earlier book of NR first published in 1989, it really is a dreadful storyline.

It annoys the life out of me how publishers repackage older books as new books.

The follow-up to Time Was, Jacob Hornblower has been working for two years in order to time travel, so he can go to the 20th century and bring his brother back home. He lands in 1980s Oregon and finds that it’s not Libby and Caleb staying in the remote cabin, but Libby’s younger sister Sunny. The two enter into a reluctant living arrangement waiting for Caleb to return, but once snowed in with no power, their mutual attraction grows. The time travel adds an interesting element to this story, and the conflict has you wondering until the end how these two are going to have their happy ever after. I was going to give this 4 stars, as I read it back to back with Time Was and they were so very similar, but the ending just got to me, so 5 stars it is!

I didn’t think that I would enjoy this book, but it was interesting thinking about 300years into the future. I kind of wish there was time travel.

Read at same time as Time Was...

My copys of Time Was and Time Again were sold together as a reprint set. This is one of Nora's early attempts to try time travel. It is about a futuristic pilot that somehow finds a wormhole to today. He meets an loves a person from this time, never knowing if he can return home. In Time Again his brother comes to return him home (future) he meets the sister and both brothers fall in love with one of the sisters. Who returns to future? Who stays?
Fun fast reads.

Twenty-third century cynic Jacob Hornblower followed his brother Caleb into the past, determined to bring him home. But when Jacob meets Sunny Stone, he suddenly loses track of his mission, and begins to wonder if all of his opinions about love are wrong.

Apparently, this series isn’t my cup of tea. Time Was, which was the first book, didn’t thrill me and, sadly, Times Change pretty much bored me.

Here’s what’s going on. Jacob Hornblower’s on mission to bring his brother back to the twenty-third century but he when arrives in the past and ends up spending a few weeks with Sunny Stone he finds himself falling for the sister of the woman he believes trapped his brother.

I really struggled with this one. I pretty much had to force myself to finish this one and it seemed to take forever.

I wasn’t overly fond of Jacob or Sunny. Rather than being one of those cocky yet lovable alpha male types, he was over the top and just plain annoying. Sunny was just too unsettle and unfocused for me. Together they were just annoying. It was a constant argument. Not only was Jacob fighting his feelings for Sunny, he was determined to fight with Sunny every time he opened his mouth. And Sunny was just bent on claiming Jacob as her own.

Overall, I just couldn’t get into this one. The characters were annoying, the romance lacked believability, and the plot was predictable.

the chemistry was good but sometimes it seemed more like a romance of convenience. like they got together just because they were enclosed in the cabin for several weeks.

i didn’t like jacob’s initial motivations and his outlook on women.
“What had happened was completely her fault, he decided. She'd taunted and tempted him. She'd wanted to confuse him. Gritting his teeth, he admitted that she'd done a brilliant job of it. After she had and he'd reacted as any normal man would, she'd looked at him with those big, gorgeous eyes full of panic and passion. Oh, she was a case, all right. His study of the twentieth century should have warned him that women had been much more bewildering back then. And craftier.”

i wish we got an epilogue with big family reunion in one century. the twist with sunny going with mmc was very predictable, especially after the first book. i didn’t like how the secret was revealed. in the first book it was organic and we got a lot of humor in cal’s discoveries of 20th century.

A beautiful book about sensual and passionate love. To be frank i didn't exaclty know what was happening at the start of the book. I was quite confused until half way through i finally understood whatbwas happening. The love between Jacob and Sunny was just beautiful. I loved every part of it. From anger to love. This book was definitely worth reading. I was expecting a sad ending at the end of the book but i was happy that they both got the happy ending that they deserved. I was honestly quite surprised just how Jacob was at the twist of events at the end of the book. I hope they made it back to the 20th century and reunited with Sunnys Family and Caleb again. I like to imagine that the story is still taking place and their lives are moving forward even though it has already ended for us. It was a good book worth reading. I already miss Sunny and Jacob. Centuries apart of love is something that was unique reading.

A Study in Contrasts and Connection

Nora Roberts’s Times Change offers a satisfying exploration of two headstrong individuals from seemingly incompatible worlds. The novel pairs a pragmatic, time-oriented scientist with a free-spirited fantasy writer, grounding their inevitable attraction in a foundation of genuine intellectual and emotional friction.

Roberts’s strength here is in her character work. The dialogue is sharp and believable, serving to highlight the characters' differences while subtly revealing their underlying compatibility. The narrative avoids melodrama, instead building a quiet, steady warmth as the protagonists learn to navigate each other's realities. It is a testament to Roberts's skill that their eventual union feels not like a compromise, but like a logical and earned convergence. A thoughtful and engaging entry in her backlist.

FANTASTIC AS ALWAYS !!

Nora Roberts , never fails to astound me.... and she has done it once again. I loved this series and I felt in love with "J.T. and Sunny" what a fantastic story and if I cross my fingers and pray to the Gods, I sincerely hope that there is a book three to finish of this series, so we can see how things pan out for the Hornblower brothers and Libby and Sunny. Thank you Nora Roberts for another great book, or should I say AMAZING SERIES !! You've out done yourself again, and again.... I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves, Nora's talented story telling, or enjoys her "IN DEATH SERIES , By her pen name J.D. ROBB. THERE ISN'T A BOOK I HAVEN'T READ BY HER YET !! I'D GIVE HER 10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 STARS IF THEY WOULD LET ME. Happy Reading !!!

Rock, Paper, Scissors

This is the second book of a duology, from Nora’s Silhouette days. It holds up remarkably well, because she is brilliant about how she phrases things.

Jacob Hornblower is on a mission - to do on purpose, what his brother managed by happenstance - travel backward through time and space three hundred years to the Pacific Northwest. His goal is to bring his brother back to their time, breaking him away from the harpy that tricked him into abandoning their parents. But Caleb is off in Borneo, and the only person in the cabin is the harpy’s sister...

This story has more humor than Time Was, because neither Jacob nor Sunbeam are impaired, just strong willed and antagonistic. Enjoy them!

1.5 stars. I didn’t care for Sunny for reasons. Lot more domestic violence tendencies in this book also.

I skimmed the intimate scenes because the first was meh and they just became more meh and unnecessary. The ending was alright. I was hoping for a little more in the epilogue to really wrap the whole series up for me, but now it will never happen. Kind of a no closure situation for me.

I wouldn’t recommend this or the first book to new Roberts readers. This wasn’t her strongest set of stories.

FABULOUS!!

Times Change is the second novel in Nora Robert's time traveling stories featuring the Hornblower brothers, Caleb and Jacob. In Times Change, Jacob travels from the future to find his brother and bring him back to the future. The problem? Jacob thinks Cal has been ensnared by a 21st century enchantress named Liberty Stone, a female so wicked Cal never had a chance to resist her. It's up to Jacob to rescue his brother and return him to his family in 2252. So what happens? Jacob meets Libby sister Sunbeam, his own potential downfall....

Carry moonbeams home in a jar...

The sequel to Time Was, was every bit as good a read as book one. Nora Roberts always entertains, enlightens, makes you laugh, and keeps you engaged throughout. When J.T. arrives at the cabin his brother told him about with the intention of talking sense into him and taking him home he meets the firebrand sister instead. Time travel might not be possible yet, but the possibility is intriguing!

Took me four months, but that's because of personal issues, not the quality of the work. The VID, wife's cancer battle (and victory) and my own big changes (how cryptic) just left me with less time and interest in reading I guess. Hope to get back into my library with a vengeance! Hmmm, I seem to have confused this with my blog haha. The book is just fine, funny, interesting, slightly steamy, easy to read.

I finished reading this book at 3:30am. The ending was a surprise but I felt that this was no surprise. I am a reader of time travel. And I look for books that put a more scientific approach to the science of time travel . But I enjoy the way the author was able to put the story of love into a time travel story. Leaving one to enjoy a beautiful stories of love and still appreciate the possibilities of time traveling.

This was a second book after Time Was featuring Libby and Caleb. Now it is the turn for Libby's sister Sunbeam aka Sunny, and Cal's brother Jacob aka J.T. I like the two together, and the story is sexy. I love seeing Sunny and Libby with their parents and baby brother. I enjoyed the story and did guess at the ending even before I read the book. An early Nora Roberts story for me. Still great writing.

Too much soft porn

I bought this because I like the Eve Dallas books, again too much sex for me. I skip over all that mushy stuff. It’s so unrealistic and it makes me feel icky, like a voyeur!
So without the sex stuff, it’s a sweet romance. A bit disappointing, I was hoping for a space action adventure starring a real woman . But alas! That was not to be. I think I am better off with Andre Norton.

Times Change time and again Stone series book 2

This was another winner. I read this before but could not remember how it ended. So loved it a second time. This author writes wonderful characters and great love stories. She also great storylines. I highly recommend all her books to everyone who loves mysteries and love stories and time travel. Diana Romano

Feeling REALLY HORRIBLE during this pandemic lockdown, I was looking for something to distract me. This was it. Downloaded from my public library, it was a WONDERFUL story, the only complaint I have is that it's book two - but I know how to rectify that! It was so nice to visit a happier time, the majority of the book was 1989. LOVED it.
