I enjoyed this volume way more than the first one. I think I will continue the series.

No were-tigering occurs this time.

There is a shooting: mystery easily solved by the Super Detective who intriguingly, we are told only *thinks* he has super powers and in fact is really making deductions without knowing it himself.

The Mafia attack the Armed Detective Agency again, easily handled, to a degree which is disappointing after the set-up of how tough the bad guys are.

We meet the doctor and learn her creepy power she can heal anyone but only if they are near death, so if you are not hurt badly enough she has to injure you more, yikes and she and our gormless protagonist are on a train when it is hijacked by a bomber.

Am still jealous of the evil dude's magic coat.

Me niego a ponerle cuatro estrellas a este manga, aún no. Este tomo sigue con la introducción del mundo y los personajes, sobre todo los secundarios que tendrán un papel importante a lo largo del manga. Me refiero tanto como los “villanos” como “héroes”.

« Death is an ensemble of countless metamorphoses…closely followed by the irreversible Death ahh ! The pinnacle of science is God and Death. Both exist in actuality, but neither can be overcome by science, which makes them all the more enthraling ».

Un aspecto a favor de este manga es que cada vez que sale un nuevo personaje y su poder ya me ven buscando en internet sobre él. Además, es super interesante porque el mangaka no solo se limita a darte el autor y su obra, sino que intenta que ese personaje refleje como fue el autor en la vida real así como su forma de ver el mundo. Eso, sinceramente es algo que me encanta, aunque sé que se me escapan muchas cosas.

Yosano really is that bitch and I really wish she had a bigger part than she does. She's so badass. Also I really just don't see the appeal of Ranpo. He's annoying.

The anime follows the manga very closely so everything is super familiar to me since I've seen the first season twice now. Every time I experience these characters I'm amazed by how well thought out this series is. I love it so much.

This definitely improves on the translation issues from the first volume - it's much less stiff overall. My only major complaint is that every time I look at Kenji, I think his straw hat is his luxuriantly curling ojou-sama hair.

I'm so happy for Atsushi's growth. He's slowly trying to accept himself and his ability, and finding the reason to live despite the trauma from his past that's still haunting him. And in this volume, he met someone, an orphan with a painful past just like him. Time to save the day! Go Atsushi!! You can do it!!

Atsushi's motivation: One who cannot save anyone has no right to live.

This precious boy just want to be acknowledged that he deserves to live 🥺😭

P/s: I miss ranpo 🥺
