"HOW CAN YOU STAND TO LET HIM TOUCH YOU, EDEN? HE'S AN INJUN!"Those were the hateful words Eden's father flung at her when he tore her from the arms of her beloved. Young and idealistic, she believed passion would overcome the obstacle of her lover's Kiowa heritage; instead, the hatred and prejudice of two cultures at war forced them apart."HER ARMS CLING TO YOU AND YOUR HEART ANSWERS, BUT THE WOMAN WILL NEVER BE YOURS."Such was the shaman's prediction about the beautiful girl he'd once adored, but Iron Hawk refused to believe it. Eden's betrayal might have sent him to the white man's jail, but her smooth, pale body would still be his. A hardened warrior now, he believed her capture would satisfy his need for revenge; instead, her love would heal their hearts and bring a lasting peace to their people.

AKA Elaine Rome

Elaine Barbieri wrote over thirty historical novels that have been published worldwide. She was certain young adult readers would enjoy the excitement of historical romance if given a chance, and she welcomed the opportunity to write Miranda and the Warrior for this new audience. Elaine lived in northern New Jersey with her husband and family, and with Harrison, a demanding male who she is sure would be the ultimate hero -- if he weren't a cat.

I came across this book as I was trying to decide what to pick for my Kindle prime loan. I grabbed this quickly on the last day I was able to in the month. I had never read this author before so I wasn't sure what to expect.
I am thinking the cover is from the original published version and hasn't been updated yet.

I felt like a western historical with a native american hero so off it went on my Kindle.

I was thoroughly entertained. Is there some over the top stuff? Yes, but its entertaining. :)

I had no idea how the issues between the hero and the heroine could possibly be resolved. There was a lot of bad stuff going on, a lot of hate from the heroines family towards indians in general and the hero, then a lot of hate between the both of them. It was a long way to get to some sort of redemption and of course, some things cannot be undone. But it was done in a very satisfying way, without washing it all under the rug. One can forgive, but never forget. Hate, love, redemption and forgiveness.

I'll definitely read more by this author. She kept me turning the pages wanting to find out whats next.

I had a couple of issues. One was the formatting. Oy the formatting is horrible. Words run together and the font was weird on my kindle. It is a credit to the author that I was able to get immersed into the story regardless of these issues since I normally get very distracted by them. That's a great story teller.

The other issue was that the love scenes are a bit flowery. Nothing over the top, just a tad.

It was good but yeah, I agree with someone else saying the love scenes were kinda flowery. I had this weird thought that their story didn't affect too many people, but that's not true because it did. I almost felt like everyone could be killed on the ranch and no one would know their story.
Also, Eden didn't really betray him, except by accidentally spilling to her dad where the camp was.
Sure, this isn't the most entertaining book, but I really like Elaine Barbieri because "Defiant Mistress" is one of my favorite books, so I was determined to finish it.

Maybe I'll read more of her books to see if the sex approves lol.
Also I was secretly hoping Jimmy was Iron Hawk's baby!! And I wanted Eden to get pregnant again by him. I felt that the ending was a bit abrupt, but maybe since this is a series... ??

Also, what I liked is that it seemed like they never would end up together so we were left hanging how they would be able to be together. Glad the father saw the light.

I'm just a sucker for a historical western romance involving Native Americans or Half-Breeds. This is the second time I've read this book but the first time writing a review. He was raised by whites but that did not stop the hatred that festered in other people causing a rift between two lovers and a hatred that turned into revenge. It takes five long years for happiness to finally appear.

Mind-blowing!

Mind-blowing!

Very good book! I was just overwhelmed by the love- hate relationship in this book. It was a complete surprise that her father would admit he was wrong. I was glad the boy was Hawk's.
