An Unexpeted Evening is about Samuel a centuries old Vampire and Katerina a witch. Samuel is gentle with Katerina and a recluse afraid to be who he really is and Katerina just wants him to be himself. One hot night of passion Samuel gives Katerina her wish, he is domineering, sexy, hot and shows her a night of passion that she will never forget. He lets out the real vampire he is , shows her hot kinky sex, and the lust and love he really feels for her. He gains control and surprises both of them .
Another twist in the story - a killer is on the loose..
Samuel is unsure of himself due to his lack of blood drinking, he is worried that the serial killer mabye him - due to his memory loss. Katerina being the witch she is tells him he is not to worry. But is he the killer ?
Samuel and Kat entwine beautifully in this story, welding romance and lust and passion. Sam is gentle and caring and due to his past mistakes was unsure he could contain himself with her. But after that Unexpected night he knows he can now.
Katerina discovers powers that have bloomed mabye ten years to late but now she wants to grasp these powers and find out more.
A short read filled with sensual sex, magical moments and trust between two lovers. The characters were wonderfully created, complimenting each other. Storyline fluent and present and leaving room for a follow up story if need be. I enjoyed this quick read, hot and intriguing and will definelty heat up any cold winters night.

An Unexpected Evening is a teasing glimpse into a single passion filled evening that is all to short and smoking hot. Katerina is a witch that has been seeing Samuel, a vampire for a while. During that time, Katerina has felt that Samuel has been holding back during their times together and she really wants him to let go and be himself with her.
Samuel finally lets himself go on this evening; nothing is held back. He finally becomes the aggressive , dominant male that Katerina has felt he should be. The sex is steamy, with a bit kinky but the back story is just as tantalizing. I liked how it delved into Samuel’s mindset and we understand why he has been holding back and how he fears he may be the ruthless killer stalking their city.
An Unexpected Evening definitely wetted my appetite and I am ready for the main course! I’m looking forward to Samuel and Katerina’s complete story being published and the questions posed in this short story are wrapped up.

This is a very quick yet intense read about letting go and embracing who you are. For vampire Samuel, letting go is not something he wants to do. After being forced to hurt others by his sire, he's now on his own and never wants to hurt anyone again. Keeping control of himself is difficult though when falling in love with sexy witch Katerina. Katerina believes in his gentleness and just wants him to let loose and one night's gentle lovemaking soon leads to fireworks and Samuel showing her what a vampire's really capable of. This one explosive night affects both of them greatly, with Katerina discovering new witching powers and Samuel becoming more concerned that unsolved murders in the community might involve him.
This story has two very likable characters that meld beautifully together. Katerina is a strong woman even though she has yet to reach her witching potential. This late bloomer stands by her man and is the rock Samuel needs to stay on his path to being a true vampire without hurting others because of her intense faith in him. Samuel is a sexy vampire with sweet flashes of gentleness. His fear of hurting others is reasonable considering his painful history and I found myself hurting with him. When he finally lets loose I found myself cheering. The sex in this story is smoking hot and very imaginative. There was just enough in the story to show the intense love between the two of them without taking over the entire story.
This story is like a delicious appetizer! It gave me just enough to satisfy my hunger, but has me waiting breathlessly for the main course. As this story hints at, there's a killer on the loose and because of his bouts of memory loss Samuel worries he might be involved. Not only that, but during lovemaking Katerina starts exhibiting new powers. I'm intrigued how these issues will affect our couple in the future and am excited to see how the mystery plays out and what affect it will have on Samuel in particular.
This is the perfect read for a cold winter's night sure to warm you up. Great characters and an easy to follow storyline make for an evening of fun. My only hope is that we see more of these characters in a longer format in the future to get answers to questions just hinted at.

Today's review is on An Unexpected Evening by Roxanne Rhoads
Being so new to the erotic word of Rhoads' books, I was yet again in need of some very cold water; and not from a glass. Though very short, An Unexpected Evening is chock full of the erotic prose I have come to expect and enjoy.
Samuel; a centuries-old vampire, is involved in a romantic relationship with twenty-something Katerina. Being a Witch, Katerina is not as delicate or "breakable" as your average human, and would like Samuel to be a bit more aggressive in the bedroom. Samuel however is frightened that he may lose control and hurt her again.
Being more gentle, and even going as far as wearing caps on his fangs, he finally lets his inhibitions free. What follows is a night full of pleasure for both of them, and an appearance of the L word.
My only complaint is that this short story is a bit to short.
If you want your toes to curl and your fire stoked, pick up any number of Rhoads' erotic books, and let your evenings become something unexpected.
