It's starting to pick up the pace again.... Normally, I'd call bullshit on the erasing memories but the series mentioned earlier that they cannot be completely erased, just suppressed. I wonder if Kagetora and Beni remember again, someday in the future...
Binge read the whole series in half a day and I loved it so, so much! I always love stories that have time travel just because they're that much more complicated so they take that much more effort and planning from the author(s).
The samurai feel made me think of Itsuwaribito, which I also enjoyed!
I loved the romance between Kagetora and Beni! At first I thought it was too much of instant romance, but later as I kept realizing more and more about their story and being connected over a large span of time--everything made sense and they are seriously a beautiful couple, fated to be together!
I always find it disappointing to read someone's fantastic plan to protect someone else by lying. In these sort of stories the truth comes out, and the mess that could have been avoided in the first place by just stating the truth gets "fixed" in the end. "What could have been" stories are always the most tragic for me. A series that I thought would be finished in a few volumes is gearing up to be a pretty long one.
