Destiny Bay Romances~ The Ranchers
Most of the Destiny Bay Romances are focused on the beach town, but just a few miles inland lies a valley—Destiny Valley—and the dusty little town of Destiny that forms the hub of cattle country, horse country, and the orchards. The Carringtons who live here are a different breed. They’re hard working people, people who have a love for the land—and a passion for those who mean the most to them.
Book 1 Native Silver He wants her. She wants his ranch. When Shawnee Carrington returns home to help her grandfather win his fight to keep his land, she goes up against David Santiago, a man she's hated and loved with equal passion for years. She's determined to beat him, and win the horse show his sister always dominates as well, with the help of Native Silver, her beloved horse. But her plans will only work if no one realizes Native Silver is blind.
A beautiful straying daughter of the land, a stunningly handsome descendant of the conquering conquistadores who loves her…his sister, recently divorced from a European royal, an aged grandfather losing his grip on reality, and a blind horse—all have a stake in the Californio Days equestrian competition. Who will win the hearts and minds they yearn for—and who will win the trophy itself?
Book 2 Destiny Ranch She desperately needs to find her father. He needs to make sure she can’t. Carly Stevens needs to fill in her past so that she can face her future. She takes a job caring for Joe Carrington's children, only to find that she's stepped into the middle of her own mystery--and into a struggle with an irresistible rancher who's own heartbreak has destroyed his trust in love.
Book 3--Sweet Desperado She’s hanging on for the reward money—but can she last that long? Jessie Carrington is a rancher and that's all she's ever wanted to be, but when she gets a chance to play bounty hunter, she takes it. She needs the money badly. But once she id's the fugitive, he turns the tables and now she's the captive and on an emotional roller coaster ride as she falls for him, ruining all her plans.
Destiny Bay: The Ranchers is a richly layered romance collection that brings the heart of California ranch country vividly to life. Amy Summers expands the Destiny Bay world beyond the coastline and into Destiny Valley, where land, legacy, and emotional stakes run just as deep as the love stories themselves.
What immediately stands out is the strong sense of place. The valley, the ranches, the horses, and the dusty town of Destiny are not merely settings they actively shape the characters’ choices, conflicts, and desires. The Carrington family emerges as a compelling anchor for the series: hardworking, fiercely loyal, and deeply connected to the land they fight to protect.
In Native Silver, the tension between Shawnee Carrington and David Santiago crackles with long-buried emotion. The rivalry over land, the charged history between them, and the secret of a blind but extraordinary horse add both urgency and tenderness to the story. The emotional pull is heightened by family complications and the high-stakes equestrian competition that forces truths into the open.
Destiny Ranch shifts into a quieter but no less powerful emotional register, blending romance with mystery and identity. Carly Stevens’ search for her past and Joe Carrington’s guarded heart create a slow-burn dynamic that will resonate with readers who value emotional depth alongside romantic tension.
In Sweet Desperado, Summers leans into adventure and risk, delivering a story driven by desperation, resilience, and unexpected vulnerability. Jessie Carrington’s journey balances grit and romance, reinforcing the series’ recurring theme: love is rarely safe, but it is always worth fighting for.
Across all three books, Destiny Bay: The Ranchers blends Western romance traditions with contemporary emotional realism. The result is a collection that appeals to readers who crave strong heroines, rooted settings, family sagas, and romances shaped by land, loyalty, and hard-earned trust.
These three books were delightful and held my interest. Better editing is the only thing that I felt was needed. There were several places that words were misspelled or could have used words that would have been more fitting in the scene than the words that were used. My last suggestion is to check the geography, especially when traveling in Arizona to Las Vegas, that trip as described in the story, did not make sense at all.
Just amazing, loved every story! Enjoyed having characters interact in each story from the last one. Can't wait to read the next box set and love ranchers.
You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA
I loved all three of the books in this bundle. The third one, Sweet Desperado was my favorite. It mixed the wild west with the wild underworld of Las Vegas.
The only things I liked about Book 1 is David's character. I thought David was bold, hot, & sexy. I thought Shawnee was too immature. I also thought setting of the story sounded beautiful. Book 3 started off good but became slow moving. My favorite book in this set is Book 2. My heart broke for Joe & his children & I really liked Carly's determination to get to the bottom of things. I've read 3 box sets by Ms. Conrad I would like to read other books by this author.
This is an awesome book set. The first book had me hooked. I love her style of writing. The characters are real hard working people. I loved the way each of the main characters grow and overcome their own obstacles. Each story leaves you feeling good. Will definitely be reading more books by Helen Conrad.
Enjoyed the country themes. Good storytelling but too much sex added, would be better with more left to the imagination. Really enjoyed the characters' positive ways of dealing with their lives. The descriptive way the author pictures the different characters brings them clearly to life.
I was hoping that the story continued from the first set of character, though there were cameos; I was well pleased in the end with the three separate yet oddly connected stories. The only problem I had with the kindle version were a handful each of wrong words (like has instead of had or as instead of at), and a few misspellings.
Typical romance stories set in a ranching environment. In the last one, the behaviour of the protagonists I found highly unlikely, but it was still a nice enough story. I have read better ones, but I have read a lot of worse ones. All in all, a nice read, nothing exciting so you can't lay the book aside, but interesting enough to make you read until the end.
This is a pretty good box set. All the books are about members of the Carrington family who, through various vicissitudes , find love. The third book is the best , in my opinion, but I enjoyed all three.
This book was not a very good read I do not believe. It appears the girl was buried dissolution all about life . That was only the first story. I'm find it hard to be able to read the second and third books if it's gonna be like the first story in this book series..
I have loved the Destiny Bay series since the first book. They just keep getting better and better. Now I only have the last three Islander series left. Hopefully there will be more Carringtons.
