ELLIOTT MARKS, a nice girl from a small town in Mississippi, just discovered her true passion in life – horses. While her girlfriends worry about clothes, guys, and where they will go to college, Elliott dreams of riding her pretty gray Thoroughbred mare and winning ribbons. But when she accepts an invitation to a foxhunt, her life bolts in several new directions. Suddenly, something and someone else start her heart, but can she ignore her upbringing, her parents, and her friends to trust…the unknown? Who exactly are her friends? Are they friends or rivals? Or even enemies? How can she know? Who should she believe?Antithesis reveals that the intricate network of daily choices produces life-changing consequences, some rich and rewarding, others disastrous and devastating.Through mixed hardwood forests of central Mississippi, rolling hills of north Mississippi and southern Tennessee, and mysterious Delta bottomland swamps, Elliott’s life twists and turns like the elusive quarry she loves to chase. The hounds’ timeless, soulful cries ring through the pages as Elliott faces unexpected and sometimes frightening decisions.
Dang, I really need to start reading this series, I mean book three is out already! I've been wanting to read Antithesis for like what, three years now?! But when I wanted to check it out, my librarian mumbled something about no library in our state even owning this book, and it would be hard to get it from another state, blah blah blah, so I got discouraged. On amazon these books cost from $15-28, and I can't bring myself to pay that much for a hardly-known book that I haven't read yet and might not even enjoy, so buying it is out, too.
Advertise these books so libraries will get them and so people will be able to read them and they'll gain popularity, Ms. Crews. I honestly am very interested, but I'm not exactly having an easy time of acquiring them.
Anyone who likes books about horses or foxhunting will enjoy this story. But there is also a romance between the main characters Elliott and Griffen, which may be a little corny at times but many love stories are. I can't say it's the most well written book I've ever read but I found it strangely addicting. I really couldn't put it down and was totally routing for Elliott and Griffen.
Really good trilogy for the money. Bought them all on my kindle and really enjoyed them! I'm a horse lover at heart and this series actually made sense for those of us who know the equestrian world which was so nice for a change!!
