INDISPUTABLE SWEETEST REVENGE!!!

This review is from: Kai's Aftermath - Book 2 (My Man's Best Friend) (Kindle Edition)

First of all, this is NOT a stand alone book, the first one is My Man's Best Friend which was pack with so much heart pounding and gut wrenching emotions you don't know where you're going. This book is a pay back... I was jubilant and doing the jig (LOL) when Kai dropped the bombshell on Todd and Alana... the look and shock on conniving Alana's face is priceless! Alas, Alana's deserving retribution on all her meanness and manipulation to break up Kai and Todd sent her on a tailspin that got her scrounging around trying to find a way to win the spineless Todd back. Desperation drove her to purposely hurt her own self and ended up in the hospital to win some sympathy and try to manipulate Todd again, this woman would stop at nothing it's scary!

Meanwhile, I got so disappointed at Kai for taking the invertebrate Todd back, she truly doesn't need a man like him...the way he turned his back on Kai even after presenting him unequivocal proof and evidence of the truth just because Alana told him a pack of lies...he even dares to turn his back and walk away from Kai after telling her he's leaving her for Alana with complete disregard on how much she's hurting...All the characters are so well developed including Kai's pushy Mother and self indulgent sister Mila that leaves you doubting at times if they are really related...and Todd's funny lawyer partner Maceo and Kai's hilarious best friend Simone make up for the darkness of this story and had me laughing (guffawing at times, really!)
There seem to be a happy ending at the end of this book, there's even an epilogue of Kai and Todd living in New York happily together...but wait! the 3rd and final book is in the works...The scheming and devious Alana is not done yet! it's not over till Alana says it's over...so please Ms.Collier, hurry!!! I'm in tenterhooks anxiously waiting!

Part 2 and it was just as good as the first one. It was a page turner but I made myself read it slowly because I didn't want it to end. I was disappointed at one point because the outcome of that situation was predictable. I will say that although I predicted it, I liked the way that part was written. I'm so upset that I have to wait for the 3rd book.

Mixed emotions...

I give this follow up to My Man's Best Friend a 3.5. I didn't really get the need for the three additional characters: Toni, Jessica, and Patrick, but it was obvious they all had their own secrets from the moment they were introduced. Todd was confused and weak, as he was in book one...easily manipulated by Alana, who's the typical self-centered, beautiful train wreck. Any fool can see she doesn't love Todd, she loves his money and what he can do for her, so she's up to her old tricks again in this book- trying to make sure Todd doesn't leave her for Kai, who is dealing with being pregnant and alone in a new city. She meets Toni, the owner of the building she moves into and who seems way too friendly from the beginning, who later reveals a life changing secret to Kai, which has the potential to affect her future with Todd. The story read a little slow in some areas, and there were way too many noticeable errors and mistakes in this book, so an editor was definitely needed. However, I am interested enough to read part three, to see what happens with Alana.

I read this book in a day, while at work. While somewhat captivating, I found myself getting annoyed with it. I enjoy drama in a book as much as the next person (as an author myself, I certainly know it's necessary) but I got the feeling these characters were just spinning their wheels. It was the same stuff over and over, basically. Alana was conniving and manipulative, Todd was naive and spineless, and Kai was confused and conflicted. The Jessica character seemed unnecessary as did the whole twist with Toni towards the end. I actually would've been happy for the story to end with this one, but apparently it continues.
Also, there were a lot of editing errors that took away from it for me.

Very good book...Alana is a crazy chick. Love Kai. Was kind of disappointed with the whole Toni thing, but I'm glad she made the right decision. I love her with Todd. I'm glad Todd actually opened his eyes...I just feel bad for Riley...I absolutely love Simone and Corinne....I can't wait for book 3...

Kai's Aftermath if the sequel to My Man's Best Friend. I enjoyed My Man's Best friend so much I immediately downloaded this book. It's an easy read; however it does have a lot of typos. The story line is great and exciting. It can keep you guessing what's next.

I'm glad the sequel to My Man's Best Friend is already out. Although this book was very predictable, it was still a really good read. I like the authors' writing style. I was very happy with the ending. Thank goodness Todd got wise! I'm ready for part 3!! I hope Patrick & Toni are in part 3.

Down that road again

I was almost afraid that the story was going to go in a different direction but extremely happy with the way it ended. There were so many realistic issues, great for book clubs.

I don't remember when I read this sequel, some time last year I believe. But I read all three books and loved them! It's been a while so I don't remember every detail, but I still have them in my Kindle. I may just go back and re-read for the fun of it.

Just joined this site by the way.

I was glad Todd had his own chapters in this book. Little disappointed in development of new characters. Only gave it a 3 because I knew where it was going. Overall good series.
