Weighing of the Heart is about a girl called Thalia, her past, her present and her future. It's a romance story with loyalty, passion and everlasting love. TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES Beautiful sentiment.

Thalia works at the Museum of Fine Arts as guide and has a fondness for all things Egyptian and mythological.

On her 25th birthday things begin to change for Thalia, she dreams about a gorgeous, sexy man and that man becomes part of her reality and messes with the peaceful, straight forward life she's created for herself.

Tristan Jacks is the man from her dreams, he's gorgeous, sweet and familiar but why?

What does it all mean?
And who should she trust?

I really didn't know what to expect from Weighing of the Heart and it took me some time to connect to the story and characters but as it began to evolve I became curious as to where it would all end? It's probably not my normal read as it's routes are not in realism. But the otherworldly quality to this story is what drew me to the end of book and made me keen to know the meaning behind everything. It's a different and very interesting story and I liked it, sometimes it was delicious and I liked it a lot!

I enjoyed hearing the inner voice of Thalia, she drew me into her thoughts.

Weighing of the Heart overall is a sweet story, but there were a couple of things that prevented my 'amazing star' feeling. Firstly, there's a little too much telling and actually most of the time it wasn't necessary. For example because the writing had all ready shown me what was happening or likely to happen, if that makes sense? Sometimes less is so much more. Secondly, if I'm completely honest some of the dialogue didn't sound quite natural, I think the use of more contractions would have helped.

Despite my grumbles the story has otherworldly loveliness to it which was intriguing to me and, as the story evolved, so too did my enjoyment; I was keen to discover the inner workings of what was going on? Weighing of the Heart is the first in a series and ends on a cliffhanger, someone is in mortal peril!! I want to know what happens next? That's the mark of an interesting story, in my opinion.

Interesting, but the writing style is not my favorite. Overall rating of 3.5 stars. Not going to continue on with this series. Also, this is the second book I have read by this author. I'm not a fan so I think i'm going to stay away.

I absolutely loved this paranormal romance. It was full of typos though unfortunately. If you happen to be a bigger grammar nazi than I, then think twice before reading this. It also ends in a huge cliffhanger. Other than those two things, this was an amazing read.

A real fast paced page turner - able to read it quickly. A love story intermingled with Greek and Egyptian mythology. Really enjoyed it. When will the next 2 books be coming out?

Wow! This book caught me totally off guard and I loved it!!

From page one I was unable to put this book down. It was one of those walking around the house and trying to get everything done while not interrupting my reading, books.

This is the first book I have read that introduced Greek and Egyptian mythology about gods and demi-gods but have them existing in modern times. What a fantastic idea for a unique story!

My heart was pounding for so many different reasons in this book; from the attraction of the two main characters, Tristan and Thalia, to the twist at the end.

The book ended on a cliffhanger. I love cliffhangers and this was perfect!! As I was getting to the end of the book and realizing there were a lot of questions that were still unanswered, I started hoping there would be a cliffhanger as opposed to trying to close all the issues too quickly. I seriously cannot wait for Book 2.

This was a really entertaining read. There was romance and some thrill and lots of comedy.

I love all things ancient Egypt, so I was very excited to start this one.

There was a sense of “The Mummy” movies in this story, and I do love those shows.

The characters were interesting but sometimes felt one-level considering this is reincarnation and divinity.

The historical flash backs I looked forward to most but there was a lot of modern narrative to it.

This book is NOT bad or uninteresting, it just didn’t appeal to me personally as a history/ ancient deity nut.

This is book one in the series Of The Heart, and it does end with a cliffhanger. Thalia had a normal, peaceful life until she turned 25 and she had a strange dream about a man who then shows up at her work the next morning. What happens when her strange dreams and reality start to crash?

This was such an interesting read, I've never read anything like it. There is such a strong connection between Thalia and Tristan and in this book you get to find out why. I loved reading about them and can't wait to continue reading their story. 4 stars

I love the premise of this book. I liked the connection between Thalia and Tristen and I enjoyed the side characters, Leander and Lacey. The story kept me intrigued and I couldn’t wait to find out the next thing that would happen.
The one downside is the construction of the text. At times it felt a bit middle-school, compared to the age the character. Another text issue was sometimes it seemed to flip my last tense to current within the same sentence/paragraph. There several times sentences needed to be restructured to seem more realistic and certain texts could have been eliminated completely. I think if this story was re-edited, it might make a bigger impact.
Overall, I’m intrigued to read the rest of the series and plan to start book 2 now.

I was really intrigued by the synopsis of this book. I am a huge fan of mythology whether it be Greek, Roman, or Egyptian.

It was a very fast pace read and very steamy.

Some parts I felt it may have been a little rushed and more steaminess than storyline but I still really enjoyed it which is why I gave it a 4/5 stars.

That cliffhanger though. I will definitely be continuing this series!!!

Awesome book, can't wait to read the next! I love the mix of ancient Greek mythology and Egyptian lore. Not to mention a love that withstands time, and a hot God who is determined to make Thalia fall in love with him all over again. *swoon*

I came across this series after a different author held a Facebook event. I've read a few mythological stories, but not one on Egyptian Mythology nor one that combines Egyptian and Greek Mythology.

I liked the plot of the story, with the themes of reincarnation addressed and insta love. The story was actually really well developed, and the i liked that there was a lot of details about the setting and who Thalia was without a man in her life.

I wish there was more development on Tristan and Thalia's relationship; i was a little disappointing that it was insta love then their "getting to know each other" phase was skipped over.

It was a good book regardless!

So, Weighing of the Heart was a cover I had seen and heard of through the book world but honestly didn't know what to expect and having not read the blurb...I went in!

The So we meet Thalia, the main leading lady on her 25th birthday. We recognise that she has a good job she adores, nice apartment and the best friend she could ask for in Leander. But there was room for a man in her life, right?! Of course she would bump into the handsome stranger - who she couldn't help but feel more than the usual pull towards.

Except:
My life was good. I had the best friend anyone could ask for, and the best boyfriend anyone could want.

But since meeting him, and even before meeting the handsome Tristan, she dreamt and dreams of him. But what does it all mean?

Excerpt:
I know your falling for Tristan...
But I wanted to warn you. He isn't who he says he is. You should stay away from him.

From warning, to dreams of Egypt, gods and arranged marriages...where did she fir into it all? Her confusion grows...

Excerpt:
Everything will happen as it is meant to. In the meantime, just enjoy life, and love with all of your heart. Love is the most powerful force in the world.

Tristan loves her, undoubtedly. With his support, love and guidance, alongside her good friends she would discover more about herself than she ever imagined. These dreams would mean much more than she ever imagined.

Excerpt:
My heart, body, and soul will airways being to you...He had the face of an angel.

But of course it wasn't all going to be straightforward. Someone who also knows of her history would literally come back with avengance. But would Tristan be able to find her?

Excerpt:
You were always meant to be mine. Then he stole you from me. You and I were made for each other. It was decided by the fates.

God the cliffhanger is killing me! But I can't wait to see what direction the next book takes.
At one point I couldn't help but call it pink and fluffy...it was just all too good to be true but the last 30% when the answers began to come out about Thalias history I really enjoyed it. I think it's a good basis for the rest of the books! I can't wait to read more!

3.5/4* rating

This is a Shhh, Mum is reading type of book because once I started I was absorbed. I wasn’t sure what I was going to make of the story from just the blurb alone but it really caught my imagination.
I liked the way the author had placed the ancients in an up to date scenario, the fact that she had put characters from mythology so neatly into a 21st century setting was something I hadn’t read before and it worked.
I’m no history buff, I’m not actually even much of a fan of the myths and fables from ancient Greece or Egypt but having the characters transposed like this, well it was something new and I really, really liked it.
I loved the relationship that ignited between Thalia and Tristan and as much as I may have wished to have him all to myself, I couldn’t help but swoon over the passion he showed for Thalia. He was so possessive, so commanding that she never really stood a chance but then again that cuts both ways because Thalia owned his soul, he worshipped the ground she walked on.
The story was both beautifully descriptive and cleverly creative, but in my opinion it was the inclusion of the tantalising teasers of a plotline that is still to be told that I found the most engaging.
While the book ended with a twist that I hadn’t anticipated it also left a few situations tantalisingly hanging in the balance, there were answers that I wanted but didn’t if you get my drift, things I needed to know but am happy to wait for because now I get to visit them all over again.
I am so looking forward to the next book.

I loved Jessica Florence’s hero society books so when i discovered that she wrote a mythological series i thought why not give it a go she made me fall in love with the hero’s why not a bunch of different gods.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but it started out so normally and then it was all making sense with Thalia’s dreams and Tristan coming out of nowhere.

I loved both the main characters and their chemistry was off the charts you could sense that they had this history together and i did not want to put the book down i needed to know everything just like Thalia i was not going to rest until i had them and then the book just left me with a cliffhanger. I’m weird I’m not the sort of person that wants to read the next book straight away but I’m going to have to.

This book had it all the best side characters i loved Leander and Lacey they were so good but when you have the hero’s there is also the bad guys not far behind and this made for such and exciting read.

If your looking for something different, something exciting and very very hot and steamy then you need to pick this book up. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as i did but here i am giving this beauty 5 stars and i can’t wait to read the rest.

Well I think I might steal Tristan as the man of my dreams, but alas I think he belongs heart, mind, body and soul to Thalia, (sigh) lucky woman. I love Jessica's writing, she always writes a possessive alpha who loves his woman with everything he is, and well Tristan was just that. You know what I love as well is the way you can actually feel like your in the middle of the story and feel the love the hero and the heroine have for each other.

I loved all the twists and turns, and the mythology parts of the book. I can't wait to read book 2 to see how this epic tale of love and discovery enfolds. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Carolyn.

This was great! I loved the romance and mythological aspect being intertwined. There is a little mystery that occurs throughout and it was great to see it all come to fruition. I cannot wait to see what happens next. This is a bit of a cliffhanger but I actually enjoy it. This story could not have been developed as well as it was within 1 book so it was perfect. The secondary characters are also so well developed and bring a lot to the story. The story is well-written with great progression and amazing character development.

I have never read a book by this author and it was a delicious read with just enough temptation to devour this book and the second book in this series in one night. This was recommended by Diane and she is a huge fan of this author. I received this book in exchange for a honest review.

The only thing I didn't care about in this book was how quickly Thalia met Tristan and invited him to her birthday celebration. We weren't able to see the development between them two in the beginning.

Other than that the book flowed well and the characters overall were really developed. This book keeps you in suspense, because you never really expect what is going to happen in the book and once you realize, its kind of like an "aha" moment. I cannot wait for the third book in this series!

Thalia & Tristan are meant to be! She's unsure, but he's all in. It's not an easy road, tho! She has many things to discover on their way to a happy ending... and we have to wait for that because this does end on a cliffhanger!

There's steam & banter, secrets revealed & more answers to find. That's about all I can say without spoilers, but it's definitely a fun adventure that makes you excited to see what's next!
