This story suffers from the "show not tell" syndrome. I am being told about this story in an overly simplistic and - dare I say - boring manner. I understand that this is a first novel but the writing style lacks grace and fluidity. It falls onto the page in too clunky of a manner making it hard for me, as the reader, to actually toe dip my way into the plot because I keep getting pulled out by poor or stereotypical writing decisions.
Vampire Next Door is a fast-paced, super-natural, romantic suspense novel by Angela Snyder. It has a well developed plot and characters that jump off the page and seem real. The novel begins with a Jane Doe, found barely alive by a hunter in the Pennsylvania woods. She’s stabilized by doctors, but remains in a coma for several weeks.
After a hospital visit from a mysterious stranger, Jane awakens and begins the process of recovery, yet she continues to have no recollection of her life before being attacked, and no family or friends claim her. A romance blossoms between her, and her doctor, and they marry. Not long after, tragedy strikes again, when Jane’s new husband is robbed and killed on his way home from work.
Jane keeps herself busy with work, and tries repeatedly to fend off unwanted romantic advances from her late husband’s brother. Meanwhile, a new neighbor, Sebastian Alexander, moves into the house next door to Jane. A new romance develops between the two, and as things become more and more serious, Jane’s memories begin to come back. But before Jane can be at peace, she and Sebastian need to uncover who tried to kill her, and who killed her husband.
Vampire Next Door is full of twists and turns, romance, and suspense. It also features a horrible villain that you won’t see coming. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book, I was unable to put it down, and finished it in just a couple of days.
First of all, I'd like to start by saying that I'm not an avid critic. I don't review a lot of books and I definately don't get hung up on all of the technicalities and anatomies of a book. I pay attention to spelling and gramatical errors while I'm reading (although I may have a few myself) and I found only one in this book. (Not saying there aren't more). That's almost unheard of, even with nationaly published authors. I am personally aquainted with this author. We graduated high school together and keep in touch on a social media site. That's how I found out about her book. I immediately purchased a copy on Amazon to read on my Kindle app. I'm not going to lie, I was a little hesitant at first because Vampire Next Door is this author's first book. I wasn't sure that it would hold my attention/interest. Within the first page of the book I was hooked. It was mysterious, beautiful, edgy and sexy. There were character relationships being built throughout the book. It was easy to follow and definately one of those books that I didn't want to put down. I'm anxiously awaiting more titles from this author!!!
"Jane Doe" is left in the forest to die. She is found by a hunter and taken to the hospital where she survives. The doctor watching over her falls in love with her. However, there is more than one person is loves and cares for "Jane Doe".
I think this would have been a great story, but the writing style did not work for me. I love vampire books and was excited to start this. The writing felt dry. I think it would have been better if it was written in one POV verses multiple POVs. I don't need to know what every character is thinking and feeling. I am not sure if all the 4-5 star ratings are ARCs. I just don't get it the ratings at all. The writing felt choppy and at times the story went on and on and bored me. The author could have given the reader little "things" about what or who Jane Doe was or could be. That may have kept me interesting. This book skips to one year here, three months there, etc. You would think that with all the skips in time, the story would be interesting with not one dull moment, but I felt it dragged.
This is my opinion. You may love this book. I am not telling you not to read it.
I came across the Author on Twitter and when I saw that her first book was about Vampires, I downloaded the sample and found it so interesting, I bought the book.
When Laurel was brought unconscious to the hospital, she couldn't remember anything, not even her name. The hospital staff named her Jane Doe in the hope that she will eventually remember her real name. Jack was a very competent Consultant who was attracted to Jane. I liked the way the relationship developed between Jack and Laurel after she regained consciousness in the hospital.
She was discharged after her rehabilitation without anywhere to go, except for going in a Shelter. She too fell in love with Jack and she moved in with him. They got married and lived a very happy life but unfortunately on the night of their anniversary, Jack was murdered.
Sebastian put her happiness before his own and even though she didn't remember him, he continued to watch over her regardless. After Jack's murder, he moved in nextdoor to her. The other thing was, would she accept and trust him if she found out that he was a vampire?
As for Matt, talking about terrible twin! He looked like Jack but so deceitful in his behaviour. After Jack was murdered, he tried to take on the role of being Jane's protector but could he be trusted?
Sebastian continued to watch over her and found it difficult to stay away from her. When they eventually met , which for Jane was the first time, she felt like she knew him but she had no recollections of ever meeting him. The connection between them was very strong and impossible to deny. Matt's interference and jealousy made their lives very difficult. Will their love prevail?
There were so many twists and turns, I found it hard to put the book down and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. It was full of surprises as well as being an emotional rollercoaster. The characters felt real and I felt their emotions.
This book is very well written and the story is fascinating. I would fully recommend this novel to those who like romance coupled with paranormal. The Vampire Next Door is the first novel written by this author and I look forward to reading her subsequent ones in the future.
This was my first book by Ms. Angela Snyder. I absolutely loved it!! Her way of story telling is truly magical. I am a sucker for Vampires and this book did not disappoint. Sebastian is just delicious!! And our leading lady, "Jane Doe" is such a beautiful character. The synopsis should be enough to make you want to jump into this awesome book, so I don't want to say too much, but it is filled with mystery, passion, hurt, beauty and never ending love. The story left me definitely want to more about the future....more about Ashley and Gavin, Sebastian and Laurel, "Jane". Will Elizabeth show back up??? Does Sebastian turn Laurel??? hmmmmm...I'm a greedy reader, so I definitely want more. ;)
Thank you Ms. Snyder for this awesome read!! I look forward to more from you!!! :)
I enjoyed it. The characters were well rounded, and the plot was well thought out, and the girl found in the woods was a real catch of the attention. It flowed well, and you really felt for Jane and all she went through. I have to admit I worked it out before the end, but you still had to read how it all went down. It read as more of a romantic suspence, but the vampire element did give it a slightly different twist, and I have to say Sebastian made a really nice book boyfriend for the duration. Well worth picking up, and would suit romance readers as much as suspense and urban fantasy ones.
** I won this book in a giveaway ** *** NO SPOILERS ***
I am SO mad at myself! I was constantly trying to guess what was about to happen and when I figured it all out I had to drag myself through the last chapters...
The first 30% of the book I was like: I know it had its meaning in the story but I just found it boring...
BUT then Sebastian came into the picture... ME: Sebastian was hot, awesome, cute and did I mention hot?
I liked this book a lot but since I ruined it for myself I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have if I'd been smarter...
Anyway, I recommend this book because it's a beautiful love story, there's a bit of action and ofcourse you have the coma issue, the endless questions and the "Fuck, I want to know!"-feeling...
UPDATE: I decided to give this book 4 out of 5 stars instead of 3 out of 5 (which was what I originally gave this book) because lately I've been thinking about why exactly I gave a 3 and couldn't back it up with anything. I feel like a 4 suits the book. I'm not giving it a 5 because it's not one of my favorite books, but Vampire Next Door is definitely a good and original vampire story so yeah, it deserves a higher score than 3 out of 5 stars...
The cover drew me to this book and I like a good vampire book so that was two things going for it. I found out that the author is a PA girl so that was a trifecta.
This story is a different from most of the vampire books that I have read recently in that it really is not all about the vampire or vampirism but more of a love taken away, a sacrifice for the one you love, and then the journey of reclaiming a lost love.
The characters were well written and even though we are not given much of their background and history I still felt like I was able to understand them. This is difficult for a lot of writers to do so kudos there.
The story line flowed at a good pace and the scenes were written in a way that I was able to form a picture in my head without endless surrounding descriptions, also not always easy to do.
I read this book in two days and with work, life and the pursuit of writing my own book should tell you that it really kept my attention.
The plot is good enough that I had an idea of where it was going but there were still some nice twists in there and not too much drama especially with Elizabeth which as a guy reading what would be classified as a romance book was very much appreciated.
If you enjoy romance novels or even if you’re just in to vampire books then I would recommend this book. The romance is not all syrupy and in your face so don’t be afraid guys if you are worried about your manhood if your caught reading it .
This is my first book by Angela Snyder and I have to say I like her take on vamps.
I won't go over the plot, it's a pnr and you can read the book blurb.
At the beginning you may wonder where's the vamp, trust me you'll get plenty of Sebastian. Jane, poor Jane she's been through it and doesn't even know who she is... She's alone too, but not for long.
I really liked the book set up with just a hint of vamp, when you do get to meet Sebastian it's more about how he feels about Jane more than him being Vampire, him being a vamp does prove very useful though.
Along with the love and romance running through the book there is some suspense mixed in to keep you wondering who and why.
I'm sure I can say there is a HEA, in a way it's left a little open so maybe there's more to come!
I found this an easy read and really enjoyed this book, I will definitely be checking out other books by author.
4.5 vampy stars
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
Vampire Next Door is a marvelous read that shows true love and devotion layered in with some paranormal. Jane’s life is far from ordinary and that was before someone left her for dead in the woods. Now, she’s trying to live life as best she can with no memories of her past. Tragedy never seems to leave this woman alone and sometimes you need to fall into pieces before you can be put back together again. Vampire Next Door is an emotional thrill ride of a read. Just when you think you’ve got the plot all figured out, BOOM, plot twist comes out of nowhere! This was my first time reading a book by Angela Snyder and I wasn’t disappointed. It was well written, intriguing and emotional enough that I skipped lunch and read an hour after I should have been back just to finish it. Sorry Boss! Be prepared to cry, laugh, melt, and break all at the same time!
Vampire Next Door by Angela Snyder is a different twist on a paranormal love story.
Jane Doe was left, unconscious and barely alive, in the middle of a forest. She wakes up in the hospital with no memory of her life before, or even how she was hurt. With no one in the world left to claim her, she falls in love with her doctor and becomes Jane Walker. On the death of her husband, her whole world is turned upside down. Again.
Enter Sebastian Alexander. The sexy vampire next door. Except, he may have answers to some of the questions still plaguing her mind.
I loved the story of this book, although it did get a little slow in places. We don't even 'meet' our vampire friend until a third of the way into the book. But once we do, it's a whirlwind. Especially since there might be more going on in Jane's new life than we originally thought...
Let me start by saying I don't write many reviews and it takes a lot for me to give a 5 star rating. I've been wanting to read this book for a few months now but was finishing up several serials. I thought this was going to be another vampire book but once I started reading I couldn't put it down! My thoughts within the first few minutes of reading were why did I wait to read this and I need to read faster! Vampire Next Door sucked me in and had me wanting more! I loved the way the author kept the storyline flowing from one twist to the next. I couldn't get enough of Jane and her mysterious past. I really don't want to write any spoilers so I'll stop there. I highly recommend this book if you're into sexy protective vampires! Great job Angela! ~Nicole
This is an Amazing story! I loved how the author kept you wondering what is going to happen next. It was very hard to put this one down once I started reading it. I love reading paranormal romances especially ones with vampires! This has everything you could ever want in a paranormal romance. From the beginning to the very last page. I loved every moment of this Amazing story. I don't write spoilers due to the fact, I would rather read a book then have someone tell me everything about it. Just know this is a different Vampire and human love story than you have read before, and no it's not cheesy. It is however very Sexy! :)
I really enjoyed this book. The story was compelling, the time frame (the book crosses over a few years) was well done, and the characters were all unique with good voices. The author had me guessing on who the villain was, and I enjoyed the way she blended romance with suspense with a good mystery.
Oh this book was heartbreaking at times, sexy and oh so good. I really loved Jack and in a sick way I loved Matt. Jane is a fighter, but the end of the book left me wondering. Will there be a book 2? Will she change? You did a wonderful job big fan.
Vampire Next Door is the story of a woman left for dead who wakes up from a coma. She has no memory of her past and is called « Jane Doe » since no one came for her. Scared and broken, she quickly understands she never was alone thanks to her doctor, Jack Walker. At the begining of the book, Jane Doe is lucky and loved, and after months of being in a hospital, she finaly is happy. She had found her balance. But unfortunatly, tragedy strikes again and she is once again lost and broken. But something or should I say someone arrives and gives her something to smile for. Here he is : Sebastian Alexander, her mysterious and handsome neighbor, living next door, who seems to have some secrets of his own. Jane is falling for him but at the same time, she is confused by how this new man in her life is capable of getting her so quickly, always here when she needs someone so bad. She also starts to wonder if he is really a stranger or someone she could rely on to find out who she was before the « accident » and above all, who wants her dead.
First I have to say, I love vampire stories and movies so I was really excited to read Vampire Next Door. But maybe I should warn you, this is not a novel 100% about vampires. I mean, the way I understand and love the plot makes me think this novel is more than just about a sexy and dangerous vampire. I loved the pace of this novel, which I found was different from what I usually read, and loved the characters. This is the kind of books I'm beginning to love more and more each time I read one like Vampire Next Door. There are actions, romance ( oh yeah!), humor and suspens. It is a really an efficient writing that made my reading active and amazing. Sure, it's a slow process to get to know the main character. And I also wanted to know more about this mysterious visitor. But then characters like Jack Walker are here and we get to know Jane through his eyes. And it's something I really appreciated. Something else I enjoyed is how easy I felt close to Jane. Who wouldn't feel sad about her ? But who wouldn't want to take her place at some point too ?
The characters :
Now I have to introduce the characters and it's easy when you love all of them (or all but one!) Let's start with Jane Doe. Like I said, I felt close to her. I usually prefer when the story is told with the first person, but here it was great to know about the main character through different points of view. I could know her feelings, what she thinks and I found myself asking the same questions as she does. Jane is warm, smart and pretty. She is also brave even when she feels broken and lost. She is a survivor but that doesn't mean she doesn't need to be protected. And she absolutly needs to be ! Without saying too much, I'm happy about her journey and who she is becoming through the novel.
Jack Walker
I have to ask : who would hate a man like Jack Walker ? Really ? He is what I'd called a golden boy. He shares some of his quality with Jane and their love is really believable. He is perfect and always wants to do what's best for everyone else. I'm sure his kindness will make you love him as much as I did. Unfortunatly, the answer to my first question isn't ; no one. Too bad and too sad.
Sebastian Alexander
First : Wow ! Then I calm down and I can say more about this character. Sebastian is of course mysterious, handsome in a way no human can be. I mean, he is hot but I think it's his real age that makes him actractive. Not his power or his fangs, he's more than just a sexy vampire. (I would love to share my bookshelves and a glass of whine with him too !) The way he acts, the battles he has to fight inside and his love for Jane is all I wanted from that kind of character. He is also super protective and a bit jealous. I have to say somethimes I forgot about him being a vampire. But that's because he is warm, attentive and sensitive, and sure dangerous. But I can't help it, I loved him and was not disappointed. I would have loved to know more about his story and I'm happy I got to know more about it. Maybe Angela has some anwsers for me...
Well I can't say too much about the other characters. Besides I like Jane's best friend Ashley. She is fun and sweet too. What I found great !
So what I found great is that Vampire Next Door, like I said earlier, is not just a vampire story. There is the big question : Who wants Jane dead ? And who was she ? Is she going to get her memory back ? Some answers had to be waited for and it kept me turning the pages. It's great because, even if sometimes I guessed what was coming up, most of the time, I was blown away by the twists. Especially at the end of the book. I was like « Oh my gosh ! Please don't ! » Really intense ! I have to say, I really enjoyed the romance in this book. It wasn't too much or too sexy. Just perfect ! Actually, as a budding writer, one thought kept coming to my mind : This is the vampire story I've always wanted to write. And I'm glad I read Vampire Next Door cause there's everything I love in it. So I guess I have to hank Angela !
The downside
Well I gave 5 stars and Vampire Next Door really deserves it. But there is just one thing I didn't truly enjoyed. It's just... I wanted more ! I mean, I still want more when it's good. But with this novel, I found that sometimes things happened a bit too quickly. It's not really a bad thing because, like I said, I like it when it's efficient. For instance, I wanted to « see » Jack more. I also want to know what happens next for Jane and Sebastian. I love them so much and I would love to read an epilogue. Like « Five years later ». Besides this tiny thing, I loved all of it. I highly recommend you to read Vampire Next Door. It's a great novel with lovely and surprising characters. I read it fast and was happy with the ending.
I hope my review convinced to buy and read Vampire Next Door. You can follow Angela Snyder on Goodreads, Twitter and through her Facebook page. She will be glad to hear about your thoughts regarding her novel. I can't wait to read another one of her books.
This book is good; full of plot twist and foreshadowing. I gave it 4-stars because I had a little trouble following the time jumps and it's predictability. I would recommend this book to anyone.
A girl is found beaten, close to death, in the middle of the woods by a hunter. At the hospital the girl is named Jane Doe, due to the fact that she has not identification. Jane was so badly beaten that she was in a coma for weeks. Her physician, Dr. Jack Walker, because attached to Jane Doe. Jack is shocked that one has claimed to know their Jane Doe and with so much damaged done to her he fears that she might not remember anyone if they did come for her.
Sebastian Alexander is looking for "Jane Doe" and will stop at nothing to find her. The local newscasters posted a photo of Jane and Sebastian was relieved that she was alive. Sebastian finds the hospital she's at and sees just how bad shape she's in. Sebastian bites his wrist and makes her drink his blood.
Sebastian Alexander is a vampire! With just a bit of blood her wounds began to heal. Jane finally wakes from her coma and finds Dr. Walker there. Jack is astonished of her recovery but is happy to finally speak to her. Jane has no memory of the accident or anything else for that matter. Jack goes above and beyond to take care of Jane. Jane feels safe with Jack, and not knowing anything of her past, Jack seemed to bring some joy to her nightmare.

A year passes since Jack's passing and Jane has done somewhat okay with herself. Running a bookstore helps her keep her mind busy but she wishes that her memory would return, perhaps find her lost family. Suddenly, her next door neighbors abruptly move away and in moves in a mysterious handsome man.
Jane is at work when her new neighbor walks in. Sebastian Alexander introduces himself to Jane and when they accidentally touch hands there's an instant spark. Jane is attracted to Sebastian but feels like she's betraying Jack, which is understandable. Jane and Sebastian become closer, with makes Matt extremely jealous.
Sebastian is conflicted about Jane and wonders if it's best to tell her that he knew her before the attack. With Jane still very fragile mentally, Sebastian keeps the secret to himself and just tries to make her fall in love with him, again. Jane's attacker is still out there and Sebastian wants to know who and why attacked her.
Jane finds out about Sebastian being a vampire, and although she knows it's a very complicated situation, but her love for him makes it easier to see past the blood sucking for eternity part. Things begin to fall, yet again, for Jane. Not only was she attacked in her own house, she encounters someone from Sebastian's past that brings somewhat part of her memory back, and not in a good way.
Vampire Next Door by Angela Snyder is fast paced and an easy read. I was surprised to have enjoyed it as much as I did. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a romance, mystery and fantasy book.
What can I say about this novel by Angela Snyder besides it was pretty darn good?!?! I was pleasantly surprised at how this novel grabbed my attention and held on to it until the very last page. I have had case of book hangover after reading about the life and loves of Jane Doe, the heroine of the story. The novel begins with a hunter finding an unconscious woman in the woods with no identification and once she awakens after being in a coma for three weeks, she doesn't have a single memory of the life she lived before her mysterious accident.
Fortunately for her, she is cared for by a very compassionate man Dr. Jack Walker whom she begins to rely on to get her through her recovery as her only friend. However, she cannot shake the occasional feeling that being watched. But luckily for her and us the readers, she is being watched by the sexily mysterious Sebastian Alexander, who only wants her happy.
Nevertheless, the relationship between Jane Doe & Dr. Walker grows, they get married and it appears a happily ever after is on the horizon until tragedy strikes again. Dr. Walker is mugged and killed on or around their anniversary. As Jane is slowly recovering from her loss, the mysterious Sebastian moves into the house next door. She feels a pull in his direction however; she is being dragging in another direction by her deceased husband’s twin brother. Now, I just thought that was a bit creepy and fortunately for me, I wasn’t the only one because the thought never quite sat right with Jane.
This book had its fair share of suspense, drama, and swoon worthy moments without reading like the cliché paranormal vampire novel. Not that I have read all that many, it was not overdone; just enough for you to know that a vampire was in the storyline. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves a good and well developed story that moves over time as in years and months instead of days and weeks. Well done Ms. Snyder!

Loved it! Loved Sebastian, totally fell in love, he is like the perfect vampire. I liked that he was different from what I normally read with vampires, they are usually warriors and bad and tough but Sebastian is none of that, he is kind and gentle and nice. Now don't get me wrong, he was very strong and very protective of Jane. I loved that he wanted what was best for her, everything he did he did for Jane. Now I have to say that I was totally in love with Jack and was wondering for the longest time what is going on here??? How can we have a vampire love story when Jack is not a vampire and Sebastian is? When you read the story you will love Jack, he is also perfect, he is a perfect book boyfriend and you will be sad about what happens in the story and the reason why Sebastian ends up with Jane. I loved that she didn't even know her real name till almost the end of the story. I won't tell you her real name because I don't want to spoil it. The story is so awesome, I really liked that Jane didn't know who she was and she had no past that she could remember. There is a lot of romance and some mystery. The sex scenes were really good and romantic. The only thing is that I really wanted more in the end, I felt that I wanted to know what was going to happen with them in the future, there were just a few things that kinda left me hanging. But nothing that will take away stars for this awesome book, I really loved this story. Recommended if you want to read a fun romance with a super hot and perfect vampire and a bit of mystery.
I have to say, I'm not a big fan of vampire stories, but this outstanding story grabbed me right from the beginning and clung to me till the end. As an old man is enjoying a casual trek on a mountain trail, he takes a tumble, raises up, and looks at what caused him to fall. He's stunned! A woman, badly beaten and injured lays on the wintry ground laced with snow covered leaves. She's barely breathing and covered in blood. He calls 911 and she is swiftly moved to the local hospital where Dr. Jack Walker is tasked with mending her. It took hours, and now she's been in a coma for nearly a month. Each evening he stops by, rests a bit, and sits with her hoping she will come out of her coma. He can't help be drawn to her beauty and innocent appearance. She's been tagged as Jane Doe as she had no identification on her, and no one has reported a woman missing. He's anxious for her to come out of the coma, wanting to find out who she is. During one evening as Jane lays on her hospital bed, without anyone really noticing this man's entrance into the hospital, Sebastian Alexander finally finds her. He's not been in Bedford Valley in over a century, but he has finally found the woman who had been taken from him and vows he will find the assailant ... and will kill him. He then slips out of the hospital. This novel moves intriguingly along and is extremely compelling. The quality of writing is superb, it's easy to read and the characters are captivating and obviously unique. I honestly loved this story and know you also will.
I downloaded this title after reading the 'blurb' - which is unusual for two reasons. 1. I generally use the look inside feature for a new-to-me author and 2. This is a vampire story and... I was pretty sure I was 'off' those, after reading far too many of them in the past.
However, after coming across this author via twitter, then Facebook, and finally on Amazon, and being impressed with the 'blurb', my gut was telling me to take a chance - which I suppose is a win for both me and social media?
Once I began to read, I found that this is rather more than just a vampire tale. It's actually a story about loss, the ability to love more than once in our lives, and the joy of rediscovery. Add in evil intent and obsession... and you have a little gem!
There were some points within the plot where I wanted to know 'more', and there are questions that I still feel I want answered--but as I'm hoping this won't be the last story I get to read about Sebastian and Jane, I'm willing to forgive the author on those points... and it certainly didn't stop me from enjoying this story.
Also, if this is one of the first books by this author, I have high hopes for the stories that her creativity and talent will produce in the future. The ability to write is the start of a journey for both the author and their readers - and this is a very good start! I look forward to reading more of Angela Snyder's work.
p.s. I DID have my suspicions/figure out what was likely to be going on... but instead of spoiling the story for me - I just felt a little smug when the reveal came! ;)
This was a wonderfully written delightful read. It’s not just about a woman left for dead in the woods and her struggle for some kind of normal life, it is so much more. The struggles this woman, who is called Jane due to her lost memory, goes through express just how cruel life can be and how strong a person needs to be to make it through these times. Yes the handsome stranger that moves next door is a vampire but you find he is so much more than that. This story takes the read on an emotional roller-coaster that is a thrill to ride. At the end of the story I wasn’t just wanting to read the next book and hoping there would be one. I was also thinking of how people dwell on a past that is gone, one we can’t change. I thought writing a future and having it play out for the mysteries that the future bring is so much more exciting than living in the past. I believe that “Jane” may have been thinking the same thing at the end of her terrible but wonderful journey of life. I may be wrong but that was my thought when I closed the cover on the last page.P.S. Just a little warning this is a tear jerker, adrenal pumper, and even a little erotic pleasure in this read.
Vampire Next Door is an edge of your seat, romantic, paranormal thing of beauty that will have your eyes screaming for more. I was hooked before I cracked the book open as the cover, as plain and simple as it once was, gave an eerie, dark feeling of what was to be expected. The cover was spilling with anticipation and this novel clearly delivered in all aspects. From the onset, the author reels in her readers by using imaginative and figurative language in addition to a writing style that leaves a sweet craving in the reading mind, always wanting to turn to the next page and read, just one more chapter. The story line is fabulous and character development is wonderful as they both keep the reader in suspense as the words fall off the page with ease. If you’re looking for a romantic, suspenseful novel with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end, then Vampire Next Door by Angela Snyder is a book to engage in. Be sure to pick up a soft cover or eBook right now as it is well worth the money invested.
I’m not going to waste anybody’s time by putting up spoilers on this review but obviously, anybody who can read would be able to tell that there is a vampire involved in this book. And what a dreamy vampire he is!:)This book is a love story first and foremost but with elements of suspense and darkness. It might be predictable to some but I still say it’s worth 5 shining stars! I had my suspicions at some points in the book but the author still managed to surprise me at each and every turn. It is very well-written which is one of my top priorities when reading a novel. I get turned off and get very frustrated with grammatical imperfections and typos. This book has none of those which scored major points in my book. Vampire Next Door is sexy, at times emotional and soulful (which, by the way, perfectly describes him: duh, the vampire next door! ;) My favorite line in this book? “ I am so desperate for you.” Let’s see if that won’t make anyone intrigued enough to grab this book! ;)
I loved Vampire Next Door by Angela Snyder. This book is a paranormal romantic suspense novel full of action, hot and steamy moments, and sweet and romantic love. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. The story sucks you in from the very first page and doesn't let you go until the end.
A hunter finds a girl beaten and left for dead in the woods. She is known as Jane Doe at the hospital and keeps the name Jane after waking up weeks later from a coma with amnesia. She has a total loss of memory remembering nothing in her past. The story takes you from a new love, through loss and tragedy and back to old love with a hot and sexy vampire.
I am impressed with new author Angela Snyder and will definitely be following her work in the future. She has a writing style that I love and lots of obvious talent.
