The only reason I didn't finish this book was because I bought it a long time ago; I think I was eight. By the time I finally got around to reading it it was a bit out of my age range. Overall a good book though, good for the younger kids.
Read this aloud to my children (aged 6-14). Once we got into each story, the kids were very attentive. Good book that draws us into the lives of numerous animals - mostly in the forest. It was very interesting to hear about what the lives of these animals may have been like as they evaded predators, fed themselves and their families, brought forth new life, and dealt with death. We learned things about some animals that we were able to investigate further - and the kids were excited about it!
