I just finished this book. It offered a lot of good information, an outline and questions to ask your son. Please pray for me as I start having these "talks" with my oldest son Sebastian.

This book focuses on relationship between Dad and son in the transition from boyhood to manhood. Zollos gives clear guidance on when to introduce topics, how to introduce them, and what topics to cover. He is frank but not crude and comprehensive in the scope of each topic. There are application questions at the end of each chapter and appendices that give extra info on specific helpful topics.

He includes an outline—a checklist of sorts—to guide the dad through these topics, which I found helpful because it is concise and organized.

One of my favorite truths that he stated in this book is that “the Talk” is really more of a series of talks that lead to a deeper, more transparent relationship between Dad and son. He emphasizes being Christ-centered as the key to guiding thinking and behavior regarding women and sexual relationships.

I highly recommend this resource.

Great wisdom here

I really enjoyed this book. This is the only book I have seen yet that incorporates puberty and sex as a part of manhood. I certainly would recommend this to Christian father who are planning to talk with sons about these vital issues.

I found this to be a really good book. A balance of biblical theology and practical advice. The bigger picture is teaching our boys to be men, not of perversion, but of wisdom and virtue.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Time for The Talk will help fathers walk their sons through one of the most important conversations of their lives. "The Talk" is much broader than just a talk about sexuality; it's a conversation about manhood, about right decisions, about Christ.

Time for The Talk will assist you in giving your son what he needs through the moral and spiritual confusion of this world and make wise, godly, character-forming decisions. You will be equipping him to enter true manhood—a rite of passage that many young men today never make.

This book not only provides a complete framework for discussing the key areas of manhood that every boy should learn from his father; it also guides you into developing a relationship based on truth and love that will endure.

I whole-heartedly recommend this book for every father, and every single mom who have sons aged 10 years and up.

I planned a two-day getaway with my oldest son to talk about some of things Zollos covers in this book. So it was very timely and relevant.

Zollos does go into some detail, but does it in a subtle way. I like how everything he says is tethered to the Gospel. I also like how he stresses the importance of character and virtues. Helpful book.

This is a Biblical, practical approach to teaching boys about sex, manhood, and right decisions. I wish I'd have discovered this book earlier when my sons were entering puberty. Excellent advice for talking to boys at different ages. As a mother, I learned a lot about what it's all like to be a boy in puberty. Best book I've ever read on the subject!

This is a great book for fathers of boys. It lays out a helpful path for developing a grace filled relationship that will allow fathers to both instruct and encourage their sons to fulfill their God given calling of mAnhood.
