The long awaited arrival of Mr. Berg is here! He made his first appearance in Her Prairie Knight, and then sprang into action with the rest of the townsfolk in His Prairie Duchess, now Mr. Berg has his own story to tell! Andel Berg came to Clear Creek under the guise of becoming the new blacksmith, but little did the townspeople of Clear Creek know that he was so much more! Madeline Van Zuyen came to Clear Creek for a new beginning and the chance to start a new life. Little did she know that SHE was so much more! Mr. Berg had a duty to perform. Find the Princess Madelaina at any cost, retrieve her, and deliver her to Count Rudge, one of the most despicable men Andel had ever known. Not an appealing task for a Captain of the King's Guard but unfortunately, Andel had no choice. If he didn't deliver the princess Count Rudge would kill his father and Andel was prepared to do anything to keep that from happening. But Andel hadn't counted on falling in love. If he didn't deliver the princess his father would die. And if he did could Andel live with himself not to mention, live without his princess? What then, will Mr. Berg do?
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
Wow, what a ride! Madelaina was rescued from a gang out to do her serious harm, but was having difficulty recovering. Mr. Berg, the rescuer came to see her to continue to try to get her back to Count Rudge - but could be really do that? My, my so many things going on, will it ever get straightened out?
Andel is relatively new to Clear Creek. The new local blacksmith, he’s been helpful around town, of a tremendous help during a kidnapping of several women during a wedding by some nasty outlaws, and an overall well liked, if quiet, keeps to himself kind of guy. Andel is many things, knows many livelihoods… but that is not his true reason for being in Clear Creek ahead of those he searches for. He has a mission, one that should he fail a family member will certainly die… or a young unknown woman must be stolen from the life she knows to life under the rule of a cruel man setting out to make her the puppet ruler in a small country while he takes the reins of the country. Neither option is a good one… but family comes first. Right?
Maddie and Andel’s romance in Her Prairie Viking is shot full of intrigue, lies, danger… and love. Andel is a good man faced with difficult, impossible situations. His love for Maddie is growing the more he gets to know this sweet young lady. Yet, he also has a blade being held over his head with the threat to his father’s life. As time passes and a decision must be made – the answer is taken out of Andel’s hands, and he must deal with that outcome. I enjoyed their romance very much. We get to run into all of the previous brides and grooms, as well as the townsfolk we’ve come to know and love. At this point the future is mostly decided for Maddie and Andel, yet there are a few threads to be tied off, or so it felt to me. I’m looking forward to the next story as this series continues. I would definitely recommend Her Prairie Viking or the entire series to any Western Historical Romance reader who enjoys a good story, watching an unlikely couple fall in love and some danger… oh, and don’t forget the pies. (grin) Enjoy yourself with this one, I certainly did.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Language: 4 1/2 stars. One instance of the word "slut"
Abuse: 5 stars.
Lust: 4 stars. One passionate kiss. A few instances alluding to past rape attempts. Some minor lustful speech. An affair is mentioned. Biggest issue is that consumation of a marriage between spouses is openly discussed and suggestive martial desire is also present. While the characters themselves did no immoral or lustful act, I don't believe anyone unmarried should read the last third of the book.
What I liked:
The humor was the best part of this entire book. Anton and Mrs. Van Zuyen's romance was also well done.
What I didn't like:
The consummation bit. The whole "princess of Dalvoria" plotline was not believable. The shotgun wedding. Andel being a glutton and bringing it back.
Additional comments:
If you're trying to get your mind off of a girl, don't get into a pie-eating binge. You'll regret it.
Andel and Madeline have a while heap load of adventure going on in this story. It starts in the previous book with Madeline and her mother’s kidnapping along with some of the other women from Clear Creek. Andel rescued her and he hasn’t been the same since. They each kit a spark for the other. Andel has reasons for following her and he has to make a choice between the two. He never expected to fall fo her though. The ending becomes quite eventful but we always get a lovely HEA in these books. It’s a fantastic series!
Once again, the town of Clear Creek, Oregon will be changed forever, but for the better. There’s not a moment’s peace for such a small town in the old west, nor the residents and residents to come. And what about this strange couple who continues to drift in and out? I guess we shall read the next book in the series, to hopefully find answers to these questions and more to come.
The story was a little more complicated than the rest of the series I have read. There was a lot of talk of royalty and the kingdom in England. The story was slow to form and hard to follow at times. I enjoyed the ending but am hoping to hear more about the characters in the other books to follow.
Andel Berg had already saved her once, but he had something to hide. Being forced to do the devil's bidding in order to save his father, Andel's conscience struggled with doing the right thing. And being around Maddie made his decision to follow orders even harder. And the running joke with the pies begins!
This story was all over the place which made it a bit hard to follow but so much happens in such a short time. It can become a bit confusing. Still a very good read, just have to concentrate a bit Moe! Lol!
This is a story of a princess and a Kings Guard. I guess it is a good story, but I like my frontier stories to be about life in the frontier, not European royalty.
Well once again I couldn’t put this book down and was up all night until I finished it as the sun came up. It was EVERYTHING you could want in a riveting, hilarious, charming and touching story. ENJOY!!!
Pies are always a pleasure, but this adventure took pie to a new meaning. One great story with believable characters. I recommend this author and series to all who are looking for a good time. Thank you for this story.
Her Prairie Viking is an intriguing story from start to finish. It is full of fun, surprises, secrets, and romance. The unexpected twists keep the story fresh and original. I couldn't put this book down and I can't wait to read what happens next in this series.
This story was absolutely silly and ridiculous yet still fun to read. Each farfetched tale leads into the next to tie all the Clear Creek stories together.
I was kept guessing and on the edge of my seat reading this book! It was so 👍 good. I hope that there is a book about the further adventures of Maddie and Andel 😍😍😍.
I love Western Romance!! This is a series of 7 books that I just read over the last two days...they are easy reading and full of fun and romance, intrigue and mystery, danger and bravery.
How can a giant of a man, Andel Berg, follow his mission while keeping his honor intact? How can he save his father - being held prisoner while he is supposed to track down and bring back a runaway Princess from his small European country? How, indeed, can he save his own heart?
Maddie and her mother are alone...after traveling by wagon train to the Oregon County. Her father is murdered and they are alone and humiliated - disgraced and taunted. Finally, breaking away and joining a smaller wagon train, they end up in Clear Creek...and here is where life really gets tricky!
Andel is a blacksmith in town. When a bunch of women are kidnapped during Duncan's wedding, Andel joined the group to search for the women. He falls for her highness, upon rescuing her. He is torn between saving her father and trying to protect her.
Aiden- newish blacksmith- goal to get the princess to save his dad Maddie- came with her mother to start a new life (little did she know why) What an enjoyable story with lots of dramatic/scary events . Their story has a lovely HEA.
