This adaptation from the film is perfect for newly independent readers. Stuart's a little mouse with big problems, including mean cats, a car chase, and a new brother who doesn't want to accept him. Will he ever find a place he can truly call home?
I thought it was an interesting book because a family adopted a mouse for a son. At first Stuart (the mouse) didn't fit in and the cat Snowbell especially didn't like him. Eventually they all liked him and made him feel like family.
I picked up this book for my nephew and he read it and liked it, so he gave it to me to read. It was a really quick read and I'm not sure how much it follows the original book, but from what I could tell, it may follow thr movie. It was pretty simplistic, so I would recommend it if your child is just moving into beginning chapter books.
