I must say, Shadowed Legacy, is a different one for Lora Leigh. Entering into the fantasy realm- it took me a bit to get into it. Not that I don’t LOVE fantasy stories, but you can’t really classify this as “fantasy”. It’s more like Romantica with fantasy elements. Again normally I’m all over that, however, written early on in her writing career, I believe it shows some immaturity.

Don’t get me wrong, I did like this book. It’s the SECOND in the Legacy series- of which I had not idea I had picked up- and the time has moved forward into the present- or very near future. The sex is characteristically graphic, and plentiful, and I enjoyed the hero Develin and heroine Chantal (ugh, enough with the pretentious names, dear Authors!)... despite the fact I found Chantal a tad annoying with her hissy fits and all. Still I found in her shades of Jude Devereaux’s heroines, which I simply adore. Chantal was noble, kind and strong and made this story for me.

I believe part of the reason it took me awhile to get into the book was because I hadvn’t read the first one. But because the characters of this book, whose memories of the time before had been erased, were in much the same shoes as I, I eventually caught up. As they remembered the past I was able to connect the dots. Now that I’ve finished it, I probably won’t go back to the first in the series, Shattered Legacy (Book 1) , before I read the next Savage Legacy (the set up in this one was a perfect teaser!)

My suspicions is that IF you are to read Shattered Legacy first LIKE I SHOULD HAVE- be sure to have Shadowed Legacy (book 2) nearby, because apparently she left Shattered with a sad cliff hanger.

Gotta love the Leigh! I'm giving this one 3.8 licks out of 5.

Devlin rescues the young woman whose been tormenting his dreams and making his soul cry out with hunger but Chantel Ducaine’s secrets may ones that he doesn’t want to uncover in this exciting paranormal fantasy romance.

Chantel knows the time has come to fulfill the legacies but when she’s finally reunited with her Shadow Warrior, he’s tormented by confusion and the belief that she is someone else and The reader can’t help but get caught up in this story as Chantel and Devilin slowly rebuild a relationship as they uncover truths and secrets long held. The steady to fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers shivering in expectation with suspense, excitement and romance and these strong compelling characters captivate readers and capture their hearts from the very beginning as their attraction to each other has desires flaring out of control with frequent hot and steamy sex scenes but their relationship must struggle against the past and the present.

There is never a dull moment as Devlin and Chantel have to piece together memories of the past and stay one step ahead of Jonar who seeks to destroy them all. Excitement builds throughout the story as the danger escalates and betrayals cause emotional mayhem keeping readers on the edge of their seat. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and bring the story to life as the well orchestrated suspense and events ensure that the reader can’t put the book down until they have read every last page.

This passionate and fascinating world is full of interesting and unique elements and intriguing and sexy immortal warriors that kept me enthralled from the very beginning and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Shadowed, the second saga in the Legacies series now based in the present time, tells the tale of Devlin, the ancient immortal Shadow Warrior, and Chantel, the reincarnated Mistress of the Earth stone amulet. Devlin, a haunted weary man, is tormented by dreams of a mysterious woman and a love that never was. Or so he thinks. Who could this woman be? Is she the betrayer, a servant of Jo Nar, the woman who almost caused the destruction of the Shadow Warriors. Or could she be someone else, maybe his soul mate and his true salvation?

What an exceptional find Shadowed Legacy is. This enchanting tale grabs you from the very beginning and does not let go till the spectacular end. The story line is captivity romantic, riveting, and the sex is hot…hot…hot! Shadowed is written so well that it stands alone as a tale within it’s self, yet it segways beautifully into the next story in the line. It shows Ms.Leigh’s true talent as a leader in the erotic romance genre. I can’t express how strongly I recommend this book to anyone who loves a story that wraps you up in it’s self and transports you into another world. Shadowed is worth all the laughter, tears and time it takes to read, and trust me you will be revisiting this story over and over again.

After reading the first book in this series I couldn't wait to read this one. I was not disappointed and look forward to Savage Legacy. My biggest disappointment is that there is not a book for Derek and Joshua!!! I really wanted to read more about Joshua and Arrianne. I would have given this book a five, but there (dare I say) was too much sex in detail that was repeated often. The sex scenes became redundant. The characters were explained a little more in this book and the ending definitely made you want to go right on to Savage Legacy.

I was pretty disappointed in Shadowed Legacy, it was a boring sexfest without an ounce of story. Yes, Ms Leigh writes erotica/erotic romance, but usually she does writes stories. Legacy #1 had plenty of sex scenes, but still had an interesting overall plot.

Here the plot will take less than 10/15% of the book. The rest is sex, same old, same old. I skipped almost all of it.

It almost seems that the sequel was an after-thought.

These early Leigh books are very hit or miss, this one was definitely a miss. I got about 60 pages in and realized that I couldn't stand the people, the conversations were so schmaltzy and over wrought that I can't handle reading any more. This one is just not for me.
