It may be because he sung The yellow hummer in the rain ..... And there he is whithin the rain, And beats and beats his tune again, Quite happy in himsef,
Whithin the heart of this great shower He sits, as in a secret bower, With curtains drawn about him And part in duty, part in mirth, He beats as if upon the earth Rain cou;d mpt fall without him..
I got about 20% through and had to stop. Oh my godddd, this guy is soooo pretentious. Won’t shut up about how birds are only special if you’re a specific type of person who looks at and enjoys them in a certain way. He starts the book by talking about how awful taxidermy is, says it’s disrespectful and only useful/worthwile to have on display for a couple people. So stupid. Taxidermy is so interesting and makes seeing birds so accessible to a lot of people. Ok, birds look a lot better in life, duh. Nobody who is even vaguely interested in birds looks at taxidermy and takes it the exact same way they would seeing a live bird. This guy suuuucks. Grow up, birds are awesome, just enjoy them. Anyone can appreciate a bird however. This is a book for people who think theyre better than everyone else because they only care about their local birds and are able to see their true beauty while other people ignore them. Stupid. I’ll stare at a chickadee all day, who cares, crows are fun, i’ll also drive three hours to see a rare bird for my state. yay for every bird.
