Despite the fact that the living characters drive me absolutely nuts (I love the non-living characters), I am enjoying this series. But this book made me rather crazy and I am going to be highly frustrated until the final book is released. I am uber frustrated with a number of the decisions that both the living and the non-living made in this book and they better rectify them in the final book of the series or I shall be very put out.

Some quotes I loved:

"With every sunrise, there are lessons to be learned. With every walk along the beach, there are secrets that unfold. With every stroll through the woods, there are stories to be found. Just think what awaits us where are lives have not yet gone."

"Always look for the BECAUSE, not the WHY."

"Lie with your back against the soft cool grains of sand and now that the mystery of the sky is written in starlight. Dig your toes deep into the edges of the ocean and know that the mystery of the sea is revealed in the wash. Touch the surface of a stone carved and shaped by the desert wind and know that the voice from heaven lies within our own hearts. Do this and you will understand the truth."

"'If.' A wanting word. Lies in the future like a fork in the road called choice. 'If.' A future word. For there is no 'if' in our past. 'Tis like the word 'why' which holds no answer behind us. But 'because' gives hope. For we make our future out of things that happened in our past."

"How easy, to forget the past. We paint the wooden shelf, but think not of the tree. We build brick upon brick, but think not of the clay. Only when we bridge time, spanning then and now, do we fully understand. 'Tis those who look back who find yesterday in tomorrow."

"Shh! Listen! Quiet is never really quiet. It's the rustle of leaves. The rain on a copper roof. It's waves rolling in, slipping back out, and breaking with thunderous sound as it froths white foam onto the sand. Quiet is a place we yearn to be."

I just thought the girl was really annoying. In all the books.
