A Story From the Heart . . .
Journalist Raelynn is sent to Frosty Pines by her boss Henry at The Sunrise Observer to find some way of acquiring Weston Robbin's tree farm. That makes no sense to her, and he won’t explain further beyond telling her to dig up information on the owner, investigate his history and expose his secrets. The land has been in his family for many generations, so she didn’t expect it to be stolen from someone else. But Henry insisted she is being sent to “dig up dirt” so someone else who deserves the land gets it. She is uncomfortable with the assignment but does not want to lose her job by refusing, as he has already assured her he could ruin her career. (His smirk alone would make me quit on the spot!)
Weston is struggling with his Christmas tree farm, trying to expand it so that he can pay the back taxes his dad left him when he passed the farm to him 5 years ago. Weston’s goal was to make the farm a year-long attraction, so the payment plan for the tax debt didn’t leave much profit for investing in expansion. When a customer arrives, Weston is surprised at the feelings that arise as soon as she shakes his hand and introduces herself. But when Raelynn confessed she was here for a story, she couldn’t look him in the eyes and he knew something was “off”. Will she dig up his alleged secrets? Will he help her overcome her dislike of Christmas? Will the kind, generous, good-hearted man, who put his heart into everything he did, find out why she is really there and be forced to walk away from what had started between them?
