Some good recipes, some not so good. All in all an okay book to have on your shelf if you like to bake.
After years in use, my copy has so many pencil remarks about substitutions and alterations, it now has pretty much double the amount of recipes, lol.

Is ok:

I don't like all the extra ingredients that she adds to her Scotch Shortbread Cookies and she doesn't use Nestles chocolate chips in her "Toll House" cookies. Nestles originated the "Toll House" cookie, so if it isn't made with Nestles, then it isn't "Toll House".

Also, I don't like the fact that she rarely uses brown sugar in her recipes either. By not using brown sugar omits a richness to the cookies that I prefer.

There are many recipes that have adaptations and the end of each chapter.

This is a cute book due to its size. The whole book is full color. The recipes are easy and for lots of them there are variations listed on a separate page. Directions for a couple of recipes need to be a bit more detailed. There's a fair amount of photos too. I plan to make more from the book but for now I've only made three.

I received this from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I feel about this book same as I feel about the cake book. They are really cute and colorful books. But the recipes in them are not as you would say...a complete collection, despite the number of cookies boasted on the book. Not The Cookie Book for your shelf.

Brilliant and easy book. Lots of great varieties and alternatives.

The only downside is they sugar content is rather over the top. So I found that I dropped the sugar for each recipe. It had no effect on the recipe just made the cookies more palatable.
