The Earth Was Flat: Insight into the Ancient Practice of Sungazing

Rate this book
For centuries, people and researchers believed that it was impossible for human beings to live their lives without sustenance, and that their visions will be destroyed by looking straight at the sun. Based on science, human eyes are not strong enough to resist the damage of direct sunlight while the human body has a natural cycle of hunger that has to be curbed. But for author Mason Howe Dwinell, people can overcome such obstacles and even achieve the impossible. These he elaborates deeply in his groundbreaking book titled The Earth Was Flat: Insight into the Ancient Practice of Sungazing. In its pages, The Earth Was Flat explains that anything is possible and to evolve humans must dissolve subtle energy blocks that prevent them from experiencing their true potential. In achieving the impossible, man must work through and surrender various emotions in order to achieve the transformation required for miraculous achievements. With such alterations people can actually stretch the preconceived limits of their minds, bodies, and spirits.

i was first introduced to the concept of sungazing in india earlier this year ~ and then it turns out my friend mason wrote a book on it & was kind enough to send me a copy (thanks mason!). pretty interesting stuff ~ the basic premise is that you can stare at the sun & get enough energy that you don't need to eat. and mixed in with mason's experiments & experiences with this practice are lots of little gems about healing, energy, awareness, and a great reminder that anything is possible :)

My friend wrote this book, so it obviously deserves 5 stars.

I had no idea that Mason went on this sungazing journey. Take the information as you will - I appreciate anyone who is brave enough to question the status quo. We have been trained to fear the sun in some ways (I’m not saying sun burns aren’t real - I have one now) but what if the sun is a potent resource for healing that we haven’t been taught how to use? What if an answer to hunger, balance in the body, clarity, joy, is glaring in front of us and we think we need to hide from it? Perhaps it could make things *gasp* more efficient and simple.

Mason’s book hooked me (in a way I haven’t been hooked in a minute) because it made me question everything and remember one true thing - we are what we believe.

Many thoughts. But mostly - I strive to be the person mentioned in this book who thrives while eating only ice cream.
