Favorite Quote(s):
“I enjoyed the feel of Kace, the way he seemed to awaken my magick, sparking it to life so it could course through me freely.”
Favorite Character: Callie. She’s so sweet.
First Line:
“A cool breeze whipped at my exposed skin as I stood at the edge of the cliff, staring after Theo’s retreating form.”
My Musings: I absolutely adored the first Tethered novel, Catalyst. So when Jennifer Snyder accepted my review request for Conjure, I was beyond excited. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen with this mysterious bond, and was hoping to find out who has been trying to get Addison to leave Soul Harbor.
This novel picks up right where Catalyst left off. Addison still must decide if she wants to initiate, and if she wants to be stuck in Soul Harbor for the rest of her life. And this whole tether business is making things that much harder. Oh, and the person who is hiring the Hoodoo Conjurers is still trying to get Addison to leave town.
Addison was much the same as in the last novel. She’s still trying to figure out all of the magic stuff. She’s under pressure on whether she should initiate and tie herself to Soul Harbor for who knows how long. She was still a good female character. She’s grown more used to magic and such, and doesn’t have many more freak-out moments. She continues to grow as she finds out more about her biological mother and why exactly she gave her up for adoption.
Kace was as hot as ever. I felt like their relationship was more genuine in this novel. It didn’t feel so much like it was purely magick based. I actually felt like there were some real feelings in there. I loved reading their playful banter and teasing of one another and I really hope that that keeps up throughout the rest of the series.
We also saw more of Adam and Callie in this novel. Adam is a jerk. Plain and simple. He’s sarcastic and has A-hole tendencies that shine through on various occasions. Regardless, his commentary kept me laughing throughout the novel. Callie was a more enjoyable character. She was sweet, nice, and somewhat shy. She was really supportive of Addison, and I loved seeing them bond more over the course of the novel.
We saw a lot more of Theo in this novel. I do not and probably never will, like Theo’s character. He’s shady and seems slightly evil to me. The way he’s described gives off a weird vibe, and I don’t like it. And I really don’t like what was going on with him and Addison in this novel. Theo just unsettles me, and he has since he first appeared in Catalyst I hope they can fix whatever is going on so he can get out of her life. Because I don’t like him!
This installment didn’t have much action; there wasn’t really a climax in this novel. However, it wasn’t that disappointing. This novel, I felt, served more as an informative filler to set the stage for the next novel, and I really hope I’m correct about this feeling. We learned a lot in this novel. We find out who has been using Hoodoo magick to get Addison to leave, we find out about why Addison’s mom fled Soul Harbor, we find out who exactly Addison’s father is, and we learn more about the tethering situation that Addison is dealing with. Lots of information to grasp from this novel, but definitely not as much action as I was anticipating.
With its insight into what happened in the past as well as the present, Conjure was an informative addition to the Tethered Novels series, regardless of the lack of action.

I am seriously loving this series! Jennifer Snyder pulls of yet another paranormal romance series off! This second book in the series was pretty good.

I really enjoyed the first book. This one was mostly setting you up for the the next book in the series. It was a lot of world building this time around.

I was torn about having Theo play such a big part in the book. I can't decide whether I like him or not. I'm such a big Kace fan, it was hard to see her sneaking around.

The concept of the book is just awesome. I liked the storyline and I am anxious to read book 3 in the series. There were so many loose ends at the end of the book, I'm now dying to get my hands on book 3 just to find out what happens.

This clever new adult series installment deserves five glittery stars for it's fantabulousness!!!!!

Book two started with where it left on the first book. Addison tried to find out why Theo saved her and the meaning of her being tethered to him. While the two of them tried a few spells to break the connection between them, Kace and the team felt hopeful for Addison to agree to the initiation, which turned out might be the solution to her problem!

Book two made me feel like shouting to Addison and letting her know why her mother had left her. But I couldn't LOL. It's quite frustrating how she speculated the reason while we knew the fact. Although I sometimes felt like the story was predictable, there's still some mystery and twist that I must admit it was awesome 😊.

*I received a free digital version from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Conjure is the second instalment in the Tethered trilogy, and just like the first book, it's fast paced, full of new discoveries and very engaging. Ever since Theo saved her from the hoodoo magic creature that was after her, a bin was created between them. In the duration of this book they try an abundance of different ways to break it and fine the truth behind it. However, the more time they spend together trying to break the tether, the stronger it gets, and the more she has to fight it. Along with that, she finds out the truth behind who wanted her gone, why her mother must've left, and who her biological father is. She definitely has a lot in her plate.

In Conjure we learn a lot more about the characters. We learn a lot about Theo, such as his cold exterior is just a cover of sorts, and that he actually feels humour and affection and concerns and all the human emotions we thought he may have possibly been lacking. We also learn about why he decided to save Addison in the first place; because of Kyra. Though I feel that was only the initial reason, and not so much the full one now that ebonies her better. He definitely feels more human in this book, whereas in the first he was intimidating as hell and someone I would've thought was behind all her magickal troubles. I love how we got to know more about him though. It wasn't straight of the bat, it was slightly gradual and still only happens in little spurts Addison can't quite comprehend all the time. And based on what we learn in this book, I'm beginning to feel wary of Kace and starting to favour Theo over him.

With that mentioned, Kace is such a little horn dog! I'll be honest and say that he seems to only really want Addison for one thing, though bask hope I'm wrong since there are times we see where he cares. But with everything we've learned, I'm beginning to wonder how he didn't see the red creature, why he wanted her at his house so badly, and why he insists on getting laid everyone he's with her. I like him, I do, since he's a great character and very likeable, but I'm definitely beginning to question him now.

That said, we also discover all the little mysteries, while enjoying a well described story with a great flow. Through a spell curtesy of Theo, they're thrown into a vision of what made her mother make the tether spell in the first place. And with that revealed, as well as the person who set all those hoodoo spells on Addison, we learn the reason why her mother left and why she was given up for adoption. Her mother feared Addison's future vision she saw would come true, and she didn't want that's I she swore to have Addison never grow up Enders foot in Soul Harber.

And that begs the question of how she inherited the house then, if her mother didn't give it to her and it was supposed to go to the town. Who brought her there? Who made her inherit it and how? Why? I'll be honest and say I think it was Admer. He was strange in the first book, definitely someone I was wary of, but in this one he's downright creepy and off. With what we found out, I wouldn't be surprised if he's behind it all. I'm just not entirely sure why he would though. I have an idea, but I can't be sure.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book! The developments in this are great, and I am definitely eager to see how much everything develops fully in the last book for this trilogy. I recommend this to lovers of action(sorta), fantasy(because magick), and maybe even romance and mystery.

Wow!! It's been a little while since I have read and reviewed a paranormal story. I'm glad that I jumped back in with this one.

This story continues where Catalyst dropped off. Addison has just discovered that she was born with "magick". She actually discovers that the boy that she has fallen for, Kace and his friends, are elements. They were all born with the same type of magick. The town is succumbed by magick, yet no one knows. The pastries and coffee taste better, the town is more beautiful .. all due to magick.

Addison senses that she's not wanted in Soul Harbor. In fact, her best friend was pushed away due to that same feeling. She's not giving up though. Addison Avery is tough and will find out why so many strange events have been occurring.

Addison was attacked one evening and saved by someone she never thought possible. She just can't understand why he saved her -- he despised her. What's even more strange is the fact that because he saved her, they are now bonded by a tether. The two of them try several different spells to break this, to no avail. Addison learns that there is only one way to break this tether without dire consequence. However, she's not sure that she is ready.

Addison always knew that she was adopted. She knew of her mother, but not of her father. Soon she will discover who her father was and what type of impact he plays on her life. She discovers so many things about her parents life and how it affects hers. Addison can't help the desire and lust she feels for Kace, but is it enough? Will this stranger who saved her, pull her from Kace? What does her future hold?

A+ Jennifer. It truly is an awesome read. I couldn't help but fall in love with the characters. Definitely a lip biter story!!! I can't wait to read the final story in the Tethered Series "Confined." Review to come soon.

This book picks up right where Catalyst left off and Addison is still out on the cliff after becoming tethered to Theo which presents its own unique set of problems. This book kind of reminds me of "The Secret Circle" television series as Addison's mother also left the area to protect her daughter from her so called friends who were part of the circle. The other members could no longer practice magic because they needed the whole group together and not knowing her real dad and other revelations brought it to mind. The relationship between Kace and Addison progressed slowly and it dragged in places for me as there was not a lot of action, plenty of meet and greet the parents, soul searching about keeping the "bond" a secret and dealings with her conflicted feelings for Theo. Her reticence to reveal the truth about being "tethered" to Theo was interesting as if she still did not fully trust Kace and his friends regardless of her attraction to him and his magic. So many people with a hidden agenda and Addison is caught in the middle struggling to make the right decisions. A light fun read on a rainy day and I will be buying the next one.

Terrific second book in the Tethered series! I enjoyed the first one and this one picked up right where that one left off. It answered many of the questions the first one left open and opened the door to many more. The author did a wonderful job in keeping the characters true to their original development and expanded from what was already established in the first one. Oh the secrets that were learned in this book! I can't really type much about what was inside the book storyline wise because it was all tied into the first book so well that I'd be risking giving something away if I tried. I'd had to be a spoiler person! I can say that if you haven't read the first one, don't read this book! Though if you haven't read the first one, you really need to do it. This series is one that is highly enjoyable with likable characters, a well developed and developing storyline, and the author is an incredibly talented storyteller so your interest will be kept throughout each book. I've already started the third book, Confined, and I have the feeling I won't be at all disappointed!

The Tethering is a pretty cool concept that Ms Synder has come up with. Still YA is hard for me but I honestly liked the story.

The Last person she think to rescue is now bond to her. Theo is the type you will love to hate. All the votes arent in yet on him. Is Addison ready to be bond to a town that is suffused in magic. Everything about the town is magic. Then there is Kace... Nothing for Addison is coming easy.
There so much Addison thought she knew.. and she doesnt, that she is just discovering. A lot still a mystery but soon to be discovered. For Addison she new she was adopted did it matter? Does it matter, her father was unknown to her. But finding out about him may tie up a whole lot of loose end for Addison... or make more muddies waters.

Theo scares me but excites me. I am wondering why she kept this tether a secret. I also wonder if Addison's boyfriend will turn out to hurt her and betray her, I hope not because I love Daniel. He is sooo adorable.

Addison though I am beginning to wonder about. Why is she so lost and why betray herself and her boyfriend. What is it about theo that has her want him so much that she compares Daniel to him? Ugh she needs to get her priorities straight and thinking that igniting her magic will take care of the feelings for Theo because they won't be tethered is a silly idea. A bad idea.

This book is about finding who you are and how secrets can cause more harm than good. I can't wait for the final in the series to come out in October though.

A great fun read.

3.5 stars. I really like the magic system and overall arc in this series, but I definitely don't like the romantic interest. In fact, I don't really like any of Addison's new friends. It's also moving dangerously close to love triangle territory. There's something that I still like about it though... I hope Confined (A Tethered Novel, Book 3) by Jennifer Snyder has less focus on the romantic relationships.

I love it :D Big secrets and revelations agitate Addison's Avery's life and also complicates it by tethering her to Teo a mysterious guy with many secrets, is he really want to keep her safe or doeas he has other plans? Is he her real enemy or the one she has to trust the most?
The saga continues with even more twists and magic. The characters evolve in the best possible way while simultaneously many secrets of the past are being explained. I can't honestly wait to read the next one ;) Octomber please come soooner, definitely a must read and an addictive kind of book ;)

If you like the TV series Secret Circle (I say TV series because I have not read the books yet) then you will love this book. This book kept me guessing straight from the start. It flows and keeps you wanting more. The author gave this book a feel of being in the story interacting with the other characters. The characters just come to life for me.
