It isn't easy to put this book into a specific genre. Although there is the evident romantic theme throughout, the novel also discusses history, politics and international relations as a whole. Characters from various countries are introduced along the way with interesting facts about their history which makes them all seem very rounded. James and Isabelle are a couple from very different countries with very different backgrounds, trying to fight the logistics of their situation to be together. A great little read.
