A dark and twisted tale about a woman who totally loses the plot and decides to take the law into her hands by righting the wrongs in her, and her immediate family’s, lives.
This proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable ‘stabby’ and ‘cutty’ little story that, although quite obvious and ridiculous at times, kept me engrossed and entertained from start to finish. A great plot containing violent and disturbing action, but without all the gory details, and which also provided lots of twists and turns regarding Lisa’s general state of paranoia and the wickedness of her crimes. I was particularly impressed with the progression and development of the story as a whole, and the ending also seemed to provide a perfect fit to go with the rest of the story.
Two final thoughts:
1. As an ex math teacher, why does it always seem to be us ‘always popular’ mathematicians that take the brunt of the abuse dished out by authors when the poor old teacher unfortunately ends up getting it in the neck? (Only joking). Always everyones favourite teachers, obviously! Lol.
2. I never thought I would see the day when I enjoyed a book so much by someone writing under the name of ‘Willow Rose’. On this evidence I will definitely be looking up more of Willow’s work, but it just goes to show that, like books and covers, you should never judge an author just by their name. Take it from me, this old dinosaurian facilitator of the third kind, has definitely learnt his lesson.
Anyway, this was a fantastic little story which will appeal to anyone that likes stories containing disturbing psychopAthic behaviour and a passion for the involvement of big, sharp and shiny kitchen knives and other cutting utensils. Thoroughly recommended.
Rating: 4.6 wonderful dark stars.
