Demon slayer Lizzie has a simple Christmas wish: a fun, festive holiday with her hot new husband, Dimitri. But some Christmas wishes aren’t meant to come true. The fun is over before it starts when Lizzie’s biker-witch grandmother and her coven show up in need of help—they have only a few short hours to rescue a loved one from a soul-eating demon. Can a rag-tag team of biker grandmas, paranormal misfits, and one seriously badass demon slayer save the day and manage to have a merry Christmas too?
The Tenth Dark Lord a’ Leaping is a sexy, whimsical, laugh-out-loud romp from New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Angie Fox writes sweet, fun, action-packed mysteries. Her characters are clever and fearless, but in real life, Angie is afraid of basements, bees, and going up stairs when it is dark behind her. Let’s face it. Angie wouldn’t last five minutes in one of her books.
Angie is best known for her SOUTHERN SPIRITS™ mysteries, and for her ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER books.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
I can tell I'm going to enjoy this series: a preschool teacher turned demon slayer who has a pet Jack Russell terrier that has its own pet dragon; her grandmother is part of a witch biker coven; and, they carry spells in jars and Ziploc bags! There's plenty of imagination and humor packed in this short story, and the basis of the rescue mission cleverly incorporates the witches' pasts while alluding to a holiday carol. A fun read for adults.
Now this was actually a great short story. One, I like the idea of a matching set of good male "witches", and two, a glimpse into their past and meeting Frieda's son. The gangs all there and no one dies.
Who doesn't love a cute demon slayer, a sexy griffin, a talking dog with his very own pet dragon and last but not least, the Red Skull biker chics.... This series is super cute.
When Frieda, the crazy biker witch, gets a message from her estranged son that sounds like a final goodbye, the biker witches are off to save him. But it’s more complex than it seems.
For the sake of honesty, I will say that I purchased this because it seemed a little smutty, it was on sale at Amazon.com for .99, and it was short. I am at "crunch time" status in my reading goals for 2013, so I am ripping through the easy stuff these last few weeks of December.
That said, it was very clear I was landing in the middle of an in-progress storyline that I did not have familiarity with, the smut level was what you'd expect from an 80's Harlequin paperback*, and overall the it was really just a little less than ok.
*I just want to add a side note-- Harlequin ain't what it used to be, folks. There's some spicy stuff coming out of the Harlequin Blaze house. Don't sleep on them.
This short but sweet read follows the biker witch gang on a Christmas themed package of chaos. What starts a simple Christmas party ends up with everyone on their motorcycles, racing to save the son of a fellow biker witch. It wouldn't be a normal night if there wasn't a dragon, a small dog, a smoking hot shifter, and a big bad demon. Throw in the holiday season and everything is super-sized.
Lizzie is once again forced to trust her demon slayer instincts to save the day. Sure, it might get a little messy, but that's part of her charm. She's the type of "superhero" that you can identify with. Who hasn't wanted to save the day while gearing up to host a holiday party?
A fast-reading novella for the Demon Slayer series.
After months of honeymoon - and no new demons - in Greece, Lizzie knows an entire holiday without problems is less than likely to happen. She has plans to celebrate with her grandmother's biker crew with hopes that things will go well. But, as usual, a demon decides to intrude!
Sarcastic comment, hot sex, holiday hijinks, and demon slaying ahead!
I LOVE Lizzie's attitude and ability to turn any situation for the positive!
Cute and funny short story showcasing the characters in Angie Fox's popular Demon Slayer books. If you're new to the series, you won't be lost; this short stands pretty well on its own. She spins her part of the Christmas song on its ear, though the story itself has less to do with the holiday and more to do with having fun.
