Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father’s paintings of historic English battles – which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father’s office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.
As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character – Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born.
When Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas – until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age… And still does, even though he’s grown up!
When he’s not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets – a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest – Arachnid and Claw.
Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

Wow, this book was... well... hmm... the same as the last four. The review, should be a copy paste with some differences. Maybe this one was a little better than the last four. At least Elenna didn't get into trouble.
This book focus more on his father whereabouts, on the Beast and the Evil Wizard. In the end he met King Hugo who thank him because he had done what no grown man could have accomplished.
This book, as I said before, was better than the last four. If you are going to start this series, just read the first and the sixth. Everything inbetween it's the same old same old.
I get that this series are to boys and girls with seven or eight years old. I Think they will fill their minds with adventures and that's good but are two or three things that upset me.
First The boy almost every time saves the girl.
Second It follows the same plot every time (with the exception of the sixth book).
1Unimportant boy gets lost and meets beast (but nothing happens).
2Tom and Company meets some villagers who have some problems that they solve.
3Tom meets Beast. Elenna gets into trouble. Tom saves Elenna.
4Tom defeats (without harming) beast. Beast gives reward (that will be useful in the next book).
Third In the second book, Tom and Elenna steal a boat because it was the right thing to do. I say, a seven year old can understand the difference between a white lie and a lie? Of what is wrong or bad? Can a seven year old understand the concept behind Robin Hood? I think not. This situation could lead into a boy dwelling on stealing or lying because he thinks he's right. But maybe that's me.
Notwithstanding,, I think these books are good books to children. I have more twelve books to read. But not now. Maybe in a couple of months.

WOW! Now this is EPIC fantasy for kids! The Beast Quest series surprises me yet again with a very exciting and page turning adventure. Some pretty major things happen in this book involving the villain and Tom's father... Along with the volcano ready to blow and destroy everything, every chapter was highly thrilling to read about and I couldn't put the book down. If I'M this entertained, I'm certain kids of this age level would be!
Epos is a pretty cool beast btw, and I think she's my favorite so far. :)

This was the best of the first series so far, so gripping from the first meeting with the beast till the end. This wrapped up the first series brilliantly answering any questions that’s needed to be answered but still leaving enough room to create more fantastic books.

I enjoyed this book because it was the most exciting book in Beast Quest I read so far. I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Tom got the collar off by breaking it to pieces with his hand.

Tom ja Elenna kohtaavat kuudennen ja viimeisen hirviön, jonka velho Malvel on lumonnut valtaansa. Tulilintu Epos elää syvällä vuoren sisällä, missä se uhkaa herättää uinuvan tulivuoren eloon. Purkautuessaan se aiheuttaisi suunnatonta tuhoa Avantialle.
Epoksen lisäksi Tom kohtaa viimein myös velho Malvelin, joka turvautuu viimeisiin taikakeinoihinsa estääkseen Tomia toteuttamaan tehtäväänsä. Tom löytää myös viimeinkin merkkejä isästään. Ehkäpä hän saa viimeinkin tietää, mitä tälle on oikein tapahtunut?
Kliseistään huolimatta yllättävän koukuttavaa fantsuhöttöä. Tästä saagasta saisi muuten varsin toimivan videopelin; hirviön mukaan vaihtuva pelimaailma, voiton jälkeen saatavat palkinnot, taikakartta... tässä on jo kaikki valmiina. Ketään pelisuunnittelijaa linjoilla?

The beast quest books have a formula so they get repetitive, but my 5 year old son really likes them so we’re going with that! Not a fan of how it’s always just Tom fighting the beast instead of Elenna, even though she’s described as not afraid of anything and the best shooter Tom knows. We’ve talked about how Tom should ask her to help him defeat the Beasts given her fearlessness and shooting skills, she’d be a huge help to Tom. Hopefully that somewhat helps to offset the stale gender dynamics in the book. Hungry for a beast fantasy book with a leading girl character after these ones.

My favorite character was Epos because when she was free, and Tom was about to die, she grabbed Malvel, threw him in the volcano, and brought Tom to safe ground. What surprised me was that in the first book King Hugo wanted to throw Tom in the dungeons. But after the end of the last quest, King Hugo gave Tom anything he wanted. I would change the ending so it wasn't so violent. I would recommend this book because it's scary, suprising, and even a little bit funny.

This book is and excellent finally to the series 1 selection of books. It has everything thing it should. Strong beasts, brilliant climax and it’s just a fun way to rap it up. The way Tom,the protagonist, used the items he gained from other journeys. Also the way we got introduced to Tom’s farther Taladon and get the backstory of him is incredible. A amazing read for ages 9+

The Beast Quest stories are a series of books that I am reading to my children at night. They are not particularly well written, or anything special. However, they are easy to read and contain short chapters well suited to reading before they go to sleep. Also, as there are a series of them it is nice to collect and always good to have a continued set of characters to follow.

Book six in the Beast Quest series, and the first season comes to a close, with more battles to lie ahead, well a seemingly infinite range of battles, but anyway, this was your typical fare with some d=slight shades of difference, but still engaging enough to keep you going.

A decent wrap up. Don’t know why malvel is evil. Tom saves the day but again Elena gets left behind. It’s a decent story and involves a volcano which the kid loves. Good timing as just made volcano birthday cake for him.

a phoenix! a delightful way to end the original series! i know that mr blade has written many more beast quest books (and i’m on a mission to read them all) but this was his original story.
i think it ended beautifully, while giving answers but still leaving many.
