Genetically enhanced super soldiers!

The Hero: Jace Davies - he was expirimented on as a child, held in cages with his counterparts and tortured in order for Dr, Deitrich to creat a race of super soldiers that could do the work of more than ten regular soldiers. He was freed from the lab seventeen years ago when he was fifteen years old. Now he works for the government on a highly efficient special ops team that is run out of Black Bay Penitentiary that tracks down illegal facilities like the one in which he was raised.
The heroine: Paige Carter - she lives a nice ordinary life and doesn’t respond well to things outside of her comfort zone. Her father was a Navy man and her brother had been a SEAL who was killed in action last year. Her mother was fragile since Grady died. Paige was a nurse who had just started at a new medical complex last month and now lives in the apartments next door.
The Story: while on a mission to report on a new facility where Dr. Dietrich has been seen, Jace messes up and gets caught breaking into the facility without having reported back to his team. In the process of escaping, he is shot several times and ends up crashing through a balcony into the apartment of Paige Carter. The men after him show up and target her for death since they don’t know what, if anything Jace told her. Jace takes care of the threat, but now the two of them are on the run.
This story took some unpredictable twists and turns. Especially with what new things the Doctors were working on. I don’t want to give it away, but to say that I can’t wait for the next book. I was hoping there would be more in this series with some of the other enhanced beings, and more with the new experiments as well but it looks like there are only two books in this series so far and for some reason not many people are reading them. Hopefully more will, because I liked the story and there was plenty of steam, but not too much.

Black Bay Protector
A thrilling new sci-fi series that leaves me wanting more! I loved the concept. Super soldiers, unique powers, corrupt government, are just the tip of the iceberg of what you can expect in this story.
I enjoyed the various different characters as well and loved how the author did multiple POVs throughout the story.

Warning: very insta lovey but they’re so cute that idcccc
Did they only know each other for like two days before professing their love? Yes but I ate up every moment of it!!! I think the storyline behind the series is fantastic. Genetically modified super soldiers? Count me in!!!! I think it definitely should’ve been longer though because things got rushed but I had a great time. One thing I wassss annoyed about was the fact that we did see the tracker get cut out. That would’ve been a PERFECT bonding moment and emotional connector between them but instead it was a closed door scene! Missed opportunity 100%!!!
I loved their little romance! Yes it went fast but if I’m enjoying them I love it anyway. The little sprinkles of humor in here were funny! Kongs deadpan way of speaking has me instantly craving his book!
Soooo glad we got that scene with her brother at the end!!!! I was hurting for my girl and that scene was so needed. I can’t wait to see how the rest of this series plays out because I love the concept of this storyline!!

This story is an adrenaline rush full of super soldiers, evil doctors, and innocents. This book will keep you on the edge until the last page. The storyline is part horror and part redemption. The main character Jace and Paige work so well together and pull you in immediately. Jace literally crashed into her life and it will never be the same. The community of enhanced soldiers in Black Bay are a family in the truest sense of the word. I really enjoyed the pranks and jokes and juvenile antics that made you forget what was done to them. Paige is a strong independent woman who meets the world straight one. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I connected with the characters on an emotional level. You will enjoy this story.

I like the premise for the world building here. There are two kinds of soldiers being engineered. Each group appears to be comprised of uniquely different soldiers. There's an acknowledgement of the cruelty required to partake in these sorts of eugenics experiments -
“She’d created them to be faster, stronger, more predatory, and hard to kill. In that, she’d succeeded. But she’d also created them to be expendable. A dog of war that no one would love, no one would miss, and no one would mourn when they were gone.”
….even as there's an understanding that it will make for interesting characters in each book in the series. I think it's important to remind human beings why we should never be given the power to genetically create life.

If you are looking for a fast-paced suspense oozing with romance, genetically modified military alphas, villainous mad scientists and strong heroines, look no further. This book had it all. I raced through this book, all the while wishing it wouldn't end. There was something new revealed on almost every page, meanwhile, the author didn't cheat on character development and backstories.
Jace and Paige's story had all of the feels, including great chemistry, a believable bond and room for growth in their relationship, which makes me anxious to see how it develops in upcoming books that they may appear in as secondary characters. This book was a truly enjoyable adventure.

Black Bay Protector
Really a great story. Loved the characters. Of course Jace the LMC was fantastic, funny, brutal when needed, but so so sweet and sexy to his FMC, Paige. I gave it a 4 1/2 stars. I loved how the story flowed, easy, seamless, which made it face pasted and over way too quickly. The story is not a new one. There is an author by Laurann Dohner she has a series (15books) called New Species about this same subject matter. Very good books. Can’t wait for you, Kimberly Forrest, to hopefully create more stories of the “ beasts “ to have their shot at love. Thank you, I really enjoyed this book. Highly recommend!

Oh man I'm definitely going to be reading book 2. Jace literally crashes into Paige's life and the Rollercoaster is off and your along for the ride. As you can imagine Paige doesn't start off as willing but that quickly changes when her life is on the line and she starts putting the clues together. There's some suprises mixed in that kept me hooked on the storyline. Evil geniuses are sneaky and keep dirt on everyone that could be useful. I really hope we get a story focused on Kong, it will be hilarious! I recommend 18+ due to adult content.

It's a quick read, essentially an insta-love. The true climax of the story takes place half way through, so you keep reading wondering why the story is still continuing. Too many threads in this first book of the series. It should have been longer to properly set up a series, without degrading this first story.
Premise was interesting, but as previously mentioned, the author put too much in this first book, with little story behind it. Could have been so much better.

A romantic suspense that hooked me from the beginning. Jace crashes into Paige's life and turns both their worlds upside down. There are so many questions about how Jace and his "siblings" were created and was the government involved, the new breed of soldiers and how the two are connected, and can these beasts find love? I can't wait to read the next book and see what happens next.

I wasn't sure if would enjoy this book but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. It has everything you could want in a great book. Excitement , mystery, action, a hero worth his weight in gold, a villain we'd all love to remove from this world and some Hot Steamy Sex. I loved reading this and I'm excited about the rest of this series

An emotional rollercoaster
This definitely shows the darker side of humans and those with power. That being said, a fantastic read. The author has created a story that grabs you from the start and keeps you hooked till the end. Lots of action, high suspense, and of course the romance thrown in to make an unforgettable read.

This book is very interesting and a great start to a new series. I love the fact that there are siblings at the heart of this book. I love the animal aspect and I love the cyborg aspect. I am looking forward to book two and to see what happens next.

Wow, talk about adrenaline rush!!!! I was sucked into the page's of this book filled with super soldiers, bad, bad doctors, and twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages. Jace and Paige make a great couple. Will keep reading this series because it's awesome
