Loved this -- I'm not a teenage girl and I still found it compelling and even thrilling. A nice balance of drama, action, suspense and even some horror! Two dozen girls live on a horse ranch in the years after a mysterious apocalyptic event has made the world a simpler but more dangerous place -- a lot more dangerous, with Mad-Max style rogue traders, weird zombies, bigger and bolder predators, there's always a shot of high-octane action lurking behind the gossiping, back-biting and other human drama. The central character, Hailey, is a likable girl who finds herself at the center of the action at Equinity, the name of the ranch, and her longtime love for sexy ranch hand Nick gets serious as she nears her 18th birthday. There's also an ongoing subplot about the groundskeeper, whom Hailey believes wants to take over the ranch, and he suspects that she knows his plans, putting her life in constant danger. There are lots of life lessons and lots (and lots) of horses.
