Why are decently written romantic time travel books so hard to find??
I started my love of this genre as a teen by reading, A Knight in Shining Armor. I still wish that story had ended differently, but I love the characters so much. (To be fair, that ending is incredibly unique)

I. AM. CRYING. 😭💀😭💀
ITS THE WAY JK DIPPED FOR TWO MONTHS AND CASUALLY DROPPED THIS. This book deserves a 1 star but I don't care it's getting a 5.
Two words guys: Time travel 💀. This book literally rewrote history, and re-defined the laws of physics, and I was legitimately not ready for it.

This novella starts off with Shiloh (h) making her way back home from her grandmother's funeral, feeling completely alone- deciding that she's going to magically wish for her soulmate to appear because magic in this world does exist 💀.
Alright, so I'm going to try and set the scene here, so just sit back and picture this:
Imagine your grandma just passed away- and you're there thinking 'I need someone to love me'. So you make your way to the magical tree that's in your backyard, as you do, and demand to meet the love of your life. You then have the magical intervention that you've basically been waiting, for your whole life- for your SOULMATE to say this 💀:

One thing that I love about him, was his willingness to learn 😌. Shiloh left him alone with Siri to get educated, and these are some questions he asked:

So, what does one do after making their way 74 years into the future and finding their soulmate (apart from having filthy sex, of course)?
It's obvious: 🧑🌾 A TRIP TO THE MALL 🧑🌾
So much happened in the span of this trip- but to cut it short, my two favorite scenes:

The h has been bullied for the majority of her life, and after a brief interaction with said bullies in the mall, what does Blaste do?? He assaults them. WITH A PLASTIC FOOD COURT TRAY. If he doesn't SLAP a bully with a food court tray in broad daylight, then I don't want him 😭😭.
On this totally necessary shopping trip, Blaste also discovers lingerie and he was never the same since (this is where the theft comes in 💀):
HE STOLE LINGERIE FROM VICTORIAS SECRET STRAIGHT FROM THE WINDOW OF THE STORE FOR HER 😭😭. Now that's what I call love.

Throughout this whole book, Blaste grew so much as a person. He was multifunctional- I mean cmon now, he's a farmer, a newfound activist, a thief- he could do it all really.
But the most important thing that he learned was:

If people start randomly walking to trees and making wishes, we need to call JK immediately
Move over stars… no one’s gonna wish upon you now; now, we’re gonna pray that the trees we randomly see in our environment are ✨Wanting Trees✨, just like Shiloh 👀.
Shiloh (18) just finished burying her grandmother when she finds herself in front of the Wanting Tree that’s in her backyard. She wants her soul mate, her person, and she demands for him to be found. All of a sudden, a golden shimmer appears and lo and behold, a man’s there👀. A man that’s from 1949 😅😬. An anachronism 👀.
And, he’s shirtless (as he should be 💁🏻♀️Romancelandia rules 💅)
Blaste (22) hears the most beautiful voice coming from the tree he has in the backyard when suddenly he’s transported to 2023 where he finds the most intoxicating woman he’s ever seen… and she’s a woman of the night 👀 because she’s wearing a short black dress and lip stain 🤣💀.
And he wants to lay her down and have her work her profession out on him 😅🤣.
And then he learns he can’t be assuming women wearing tight short dresses and lipstick in 2023 are working the oldest profession in the world 🤡 bahahaha.
Many things have changed in the last 74 years 😅. One thing that hasn’t changed is what true love is, and these two love birds feel it.
But… will their time run out?
What I liked/loved:
—the Siri questions🤡. ERMAGOD 🤣. I was DYYYYING 😭. Not only does Blaste have to adjust to the fact that we have internet and other technological advancements, but he can ask Siri *anything* and his questions did not disappoint 💀
—JK writing a unique concept. You best believe I devoured this with its unique concept 👏🏻. A Wanting Tree?!? Come on! I swear to all that is holy, the day that JK writes a full length novel is the day all readers will stop their current read to read hers 👀. She can pack so much content in so little pages! She’s a wizard 👀 or a witch 😅 same thing 🤣. She has some powers 💁🏻♀️
—the 🔥. I mean. Duh. It’s Jessa Kane here. She always delivers in the smuuuuuut 😮💨🥵. And I appreciated that even though Blaste was experienced, he questioned what he needed to do to get his future wife ✨there✨ and he had no qualms doing his research using trusty old Siri 🤡. And oh how fun it was to see him explore his newfound knowledge 💦😉🔥
—his diiiiirty mouth 😮💨. Oh LAWD. I wasn’t ready Blaste 🥵. I don’t know if men were THIS durtay in the 1940s, but good gawd, Blaste was in it to win it 💅💦
—retroactive protection 💁🏻♀️. Blaste getting back at Shiloh’s bullies was everything 👏🏻. Don’t nobody mess with his girl 💅

🟦I was kinda suprised that this is a time-travel book and DAMN Jessa out-did herself.
🟦What I really fuckin' loved about this book was that the hero was freakin' adorable. I mean... walking into the Victoria's Secret and snatching an underwear right of the manequin for Shiloh? 😂😍
He ws from the 80s so the way he jumped at Siri's voice! 😂😂
He learned how to eat a coochie from Siri.
LITERALLY one of the craziest things Ive ever read.
Wtf are men irl doing with their Iphones? They could learn a thing or two from Blaste.

This cannonball-sized need and affection and connection inside of me for Shiloh brought me here and it’s where I want to lose myself, so that’s what I’m going to do. I’m a man. She needs to know I’m strong. Dependable. Unshakeable. Men don’t show fear or weakness.
😭She really broke down his walls towards the end and encouraged him to open up.
🟦Ofc he was suprised by her sassiness because , hello, he was from the 80s, women didnt even vote back then, but I love that he grew into this sexy possessive emotional being who cared abou Shilo's feelings too!

If you want a quick time travel romance/fish-out-of-water scenario that’s funny, hot, and totally shameless, you’ve got it. I absolutely loved these two; the banter, the sexiness, the hilarity, the sweet longing and completely over the top of it all just works. 🤌🔥🤭

Quick and easy pallet cleanser, and for the first time in a little while, I really loved this JK novella! Shiloh’s family ranch is home to a wishing tree that unites soulmates through time and space. When she accidentally brings Blaste from 1949, he almost couldn’t care less. Cute and fast, this was a super fun little read!

In Jessa Kane style, this was quick, insta-love with a few steamy scenes. I liked the time travel aspect that gave this a fated element but that was the only “magical” part. The scenes of the H learning from Siri and his outdated attitude were hilarious. He was big, rough, forthright, and instantly crazy for the h. The h was sweet and soft, but also had no issue slapping him when his attitude called for it. She was the more openly vulnerable and she also encouraged him to be too. Both were willing to learn and adjust to figure out how to be with each other because they were soulmates and that’s just romance right there. There’s a bit of a moment of tenseness where it’s uncertain how they’ll be together forever and then it’s resolved and the story ends with a swoony HEA five years into their future.
Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, H is not a virgin (had been with prostitutes but no details beyond that), and h is a virgin. There is a touch of degradation feel early on but it’s not much and not through the whole book because something happens to change the H’s feelings on his word choices.

DNF 25%.
The premise was interesting, the high ratings made me try, and Jessa Kane has had some wins with me.
BUT. The delivery within the first 1/4 of the book is awful. The girl I don't care for and the guy even less so. What 1940s rancher talks and behaves the way he does? With no respect whatsoever even if he thought she was a working girl????? And after he found out she's not, and could very well be a virgin, he still acts like an ass.
Doesn't fit the character and the one that's portrayed is a complete manwhore asshole. Doesn't make me want to continue.

To love or hate Blaste?
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a Jessa Kane time travel romance. I figured it would either be reeeally good or just awful. It ended up being somewhere between the two for me. While it’s not my favorite Jessa Kane it’s still pretty good.
I think my biggest problem was Blaste. I really didn’t like him for the first maybe… 2/3 of the book. But by the epilogue I really liked him. Once he was able to properly show and express his love? Swoon! Plus, loving her so much it’s hard for him to look at her and Shiloh coaxing him so slowly and gently? Probably my favorite part.

A time-travelling steamy novella from the one and only… Jessa Kane! It was a fun time, and I really enjoyed how the hero being from the olden days gets put to use. He’s an alpha and the “make me a sandwich” type of guy (no I’m not exaggerating, it’s actually a line used here) and the heroine is modern and more feminist, but Jessa Kane makes it work. I was thrown off by some of the hero’s internal dialogue sounding a bit too modern. He used the words “Martian” and “slutty” and I’m not completely sure if those words were in casual use in the 1940s.

This was a fun little JK novella. It was very instalust/love but it made more sense in this story than in some of her others, given that they were soulmates. The hero was j/p but not totally OTT, and overall, it was pretty cute with NO DADDY KINK!

Jessa Kane returns with an incredibly romantic and steamy story that transcends time as Blaste and Shiloh are forced to contend with the differences between them as well as the realization that they are soulmates. I loved this short story because it tells the story of two characters from different eras who come to love each other despite of it. Blaste fell for Shiloh the moment he set eyes on her and was quickly overwhelmed by his lust and feelings for this woman. The rising tension between Blaste and Shiloh was my favorite aspect of the book because these two had amazing sexual chemistry with each other. I liked that Blaste was extremely protective and possessive of Shiloh from the start. He knew who he wanted and had no qualms about pursuing her. The dirty talk and love scenes were so amazing—I wanted more.
In the end, Jessa Kane never disappoints if you're looking for a short and spicy romance full of heart and relatable characters. I loved the time-travel aspect of this book and how the Wanting Tree that was responsible for granting soulmates. It's fantastical but sometimes, we need that in our lives. My heart broke when they were briefly separated but our couple does get a happy and satisfying ending overall. Fans of Jessa Kane will love this book and I highly recommend this story to those who love a good old time-traveling romance with lots of steam between its two main characters. Although it was short, it checked all of my boxes and I was content with the amount we were given. Blaste was rather traditional and knew what he wanted while Shiloh was innocent, stubborn, and loving—they made for a really good match.

This was a fun, sweet and spicy read! My favorite JK book so far! Blaste was a great hero. He was tough, sweet and the perfect amount of OTT protective. Shiloh paired with him perfectly. She could stand up to him but was also very sweet. I liked the time travel aspect of it.

Cuando lei la sinopsis de esta historia me resulto muy interesante y la verdad es que dentro de este pequeño genero si que destaca.
Obviamente la trama hubiese quedado mejor de haber tenido un desarrollo mas completo, pero al tener un numero de paginas reducido eso no es posible, aun asi, admito que disfrute de la lectura.
En fin, una novella breve, divertida y sin complicaciones, ideal para pasar un buen rato.
P. D. : Me gusto lo de los viajes en el tiempo, le da un giro diferente.
