While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created.

As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college.

Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history.

Lo lives in Texas with her family and beloved Great Dane, Bosley.

Solid 4 Stars!!

This was surprisingly good. Especially for how short it was. Lots of action and of course some super insta love, that I don't mind at all with my PNR. I am all about some fated mates business. Eris is a little spitfire; Nico is going to have his hands full. They're going to make a great team.

This really felt like a great set up for future books in the series. What's happening in the Dragon Heat world is quite interesting. I wish I'd done a quick refresher on the series before I started to remember the past couples, but I remembered the history of the Dragons and the Knights pretty quickly and was able to catch on. I can't wait for the next one. I sincerely hope it doesn't take as long to come out as this one did. Happy reading!

Eris Jones has nothing to lose—except for her best friend, Ivy. So when Ivy goes missing, Eris goes to work to find her, following the clues to Ivy’s last known point of contact—don’t ask Eris how she extrapolates all this information—and discovers a mysterious, secluded estate. An estate that’s well secured and one that would scare off most people, but not Eris.

What Eris discovers behind the high gates is what nightmares are made of—well, hot, sexy ones—a real snarling dragon. Real. Dragon. That transforms into one tall, dark and devilishly handsome man.

Nico Drakon has banished himself to the lair under his home to keep himself in and others out while he’s caught in the throws of an extreme mating heat. Yet even in his hormonal haze, Nico senses Eris and is able to track her as she stalks through his estate, lured by her beguiling scent. As Nico breaks his bonds in his liar, he soon must decide if he’s going to break the vow he made centuries ago—but is it really a vow break if the culprit is your mate?

The old showbiz adage is “Always leave them wanting more.” And wanting more is exactly what I desire from Ms. Lopez and this amazing Dragon Heat series. I devoured Eris and Nico’s story—their instant attraction, their seriously sexy times and their immediate bond. Loved it all. And especially loved the set up for more mythological creatures and deities… Please keep reminding us to secure our valuables and keep our hands down because I love the ride you’re taking us on, Ms. Lopez. ~ Missy, 5 stars

I did not want this story to end!

I love this author! She writes so many different “kinds” of love and I am in love with each and every one of them. Sci-fi, Russians, mystical, paranormal – I crave each and every title like they are a crackerjack prize. In this series, dragons are the focus and they are beautiful in all their mythical glory. They are treated with reverence yet at the same time they feel common place, as if they should be here in the modern world like cell phones and satellites…

And Niko Drakon is a dragon, and a man, in every way that matters. When he and Eris Jones come together, trust and understanding are low but that changes quickly. Niko towers over Eris physically but they match toe to toe, especially in the stubborn and protective departments. The sparks and the banter between them was loud and sizzling hot as this novella had them diving in to their relationship with both wings and feet first! There was heat and heart and a knack for storytelling that blended into a story that I only wished could have been longer.

“I want to give this – us – a chance. I don’t understand it, but I believe deeply in what I feel for you. It feels right. It feels like…like…home…”

This story melted my heart and hooked it at the same time! I need more! ~ Diane, 5 stars

If you enjoy sexy sci fi stories then you've probably already discovered this author and her popular Grabbed series. I'm just starting to get sucked into her Dragon Heat books so was very happy to get my hands on this book. I will admit it's a little shorter than I prefer but the author is expanding her world here by bringing the dragons mythological beginnings to the fore.
I found it so interesting the way the hero Niko got a small taste of his own medicine as in the last book Wicked Dark Dragon he didn't exactly equit himself well. Having produced drugs designed to interfere with the dragons natural mating heat this time he finds himself in a precarious position when his home is invaded by a lone female. Is she a thief or an enemy? Well it turns out she's neither as Eris is there to finally find out what's happened to her missing friend Ivy. What Eris never in her wildest dreams imagined though was to be hunted down by a dragon! He's scary, he's scaly and he turns into a gorgeous man but what on earth is going on as Eris is about to take a walk on the wild and dangerous side!
Well I'm like a lot of readers and thoroughly enjoy the idea of dragons but the slant the author gives here is highly entertaining . Whilst I'm not particularly a fan of the whole mating heat scenario I am enjoying the journey this series is taking readers on. Yes we know the dragons have enemies but what Eris goes through in this book was so fantastical that I struggled to keep up and frankly even now it's ended I'm still trying to work things out ! I don't mind though because I'm sure explanations are forthcoming as we delve deeper into the mythological past of these amazing characters .
I'm aware that the author has had difficulties with a previous publisher but I'm also saddened to hear that she has been going through health issues . I truly hope that her fans will be supportive at this time and like myself wait patiently for her next release. As for this series quite simply these stories are fun, naughty and entertaining and there's nothing wrong with that !

I dunno, I feel like maybe the author or publisher decided not to continue with this series, because this does not feel like a final book.

I still have questions, like about R's fate (maybe he was supposed to have a book?), were they studying Ivani, what happened to everyone else. Eris never got to see Ivy after all that. What was up with the family tree thing.

This kind of feels like it ended really suddenly and could have used an epilogue.
I'm not sure what the author's personal or professional circumstances were at the time, but this just feels incomplete.

I still think Book 2 is my favourite in the series, but I'm glad I read the rest.

A dragon shifter in a rutting heat and forbidden apples eaten by a female thief, what could possibly go wrong? This is the fourth book in this series. Whilst it isn't recommended to read it as a standalone, it can be. Ms. Lopez does a good job of summarizing the different factions and the state of the dragon world.

This short shifter story features Niko Drakon and Eris Jones. Niko is one of the few remaining dragon shifters. He is a scientist as well as a protector of a special fruit bearing tree from the gods. Whilst testing one of his experimental drugs on himself, a human hybrid sneaks onto his property and irreverently plucks a golden apple of his tree. In a nonchalant manner, she takes a few bites and wanders through his property. Enraged, he goes after her. This is when it gets interesting.

The characters are in this story are simple to understand. Niko is a geeky yet sexy hawt dragon. Eris is the foolish and loyal friend. Eris is searching for Ivy and will not stop until she finds her. It is admirable if a bit naive as breaks into someone's home and then steals from them. Some may consider taking fruit off a tree not to be stealing. Which may be why the story's conflict feels too forced. Regardless of the apple eating scene, Niko and Eris's interaction is mostly a lust induced bonding. The insta-love is the standard in paranormal erotica. The chemistry between these two fizzled for me instead of sparked. I think it's because Eris grated on me. She's a bit annoying with her blundering. Niko just seemed sad for me. He's being persecuted by crazy racist killers and seems to be on the perpetual losing end.

The sex between these two characters is meh. There is a bit of rough play but overall, it's easy to skim over and keep reading to see what happens with the two are attacked. If there was dragon sex in the sky, that may kick it up a notch. Alas, the sex is the standard alpha male bellowing and feisty female wiggling her tush.

The pace of the story is fast as it quickly brings in misunderstandings, slaughter and psycho killers. The ending comes swiftly with a cliff hanger. For those who enjoyed the Grabbed series by Ms. Lopez, this one is a little different. There is less complexity, engaging characters and smexy kinky time. This story will appeal to dragon shifter lovers who enjoy erotica.

REVIEW: RENEGADE DRAGON is the fourth installment in Lolita Lopez’s adult DRAGON HEAT paranormal, romance series focusing on the few remaining dragon shifters in the world. This is dragon shifter Niko Drakon and university student Eris Jones’s storyline. RENEGADE DRAGON can be read as a stand alone but there is a bit of background information required to understand the ongoing war with the Knights of St. George, and the future storylines will continue upon the same path. The novella picks up immediately after events of Wicked Dark Dragon #3-Eris is Ivy Morales’s (Wicked Dark Dragon #3) best friend and roommate.

Told from dual third person perspective (Niko and Eris) RENEGADE DRAGON focuses on the mating heat between Eris Jones and Niko Drakon. Eris has been searching for her best friend Ivy since her disappearance in Mexico during spring break, and a phone call from her friend had been traced to Niko’s lands. Niko is an ancient dragon who had injected himself with a synthetic drug that had forced his dragon into an early mating heat. When Eris crosses the barriers protecting Niko’s house, Niko’s dragon recognizes the woman as his mate. What ensues is the insta-lust/love between Niko and Eris, and the revelation that Eris is something more than human or dragon. An attack against the couple by the Knights of St. George finds a kindred spirit with Reynard’s dragon-but a spirit that may not have long to live.

RENEGADE DRAGON is a very quick read; a story of lust, love and fated mates. The premise is sexy and revealing; the characters are magical and spirited; the romance is provocative and intense. A sexy story about dragon shifters, their call to mate, and survival of the species.

I dug into this romance as soon as it hit my kindle. I have read and loved almost all books by Miss Lolita Lopez and enjoyed them immensely and Renegade Dragon was no exception. I love Niko and Eris. There was plenty of passion, magic, action, and sizzling attraction.

I don't always get into paranormal romances that feature dragons, but Miss Lopez has yet to disappoint me with her sexy Dragon Heat series! I am fascinated, and eager to start these books. And Renegade Dragon was WHITE HOT and SEXY AS ALL GET IT!

Renegade Dragon gets a HOT AS DRAGON FIRE FIVE SHOOTING STARS! If you read Miss Lopez's Dragon Heat series and have been anticipating the next book, then grab this baby up and enjoy Niko and Eris's incredible story.

Excited! though the information for this needs to be updated as it got pushed back for publishing (Oct 4th). I'm happy she's back in the swing of things. looking forward to this story, I've read the past stories like why Niko got overdosed. Loved the Goddess of Strife nickname Niko uses in reference to the fact she ate a golden apple. Don't forget all the Greek myth jokes lol "where did you go Discordia?” Not that crazy about the cliffhanger ending w Ray. Felt a little too short for me with nothing really solved and more questions than answers. I can't wait for the next one! Keep it up Lolita!

I really liked Eris girl knew how to speak her mind, “look, I’m willing to accept that you’re a dragon-man-shifter person. I’m even willing to accept that we have some mystical bond and that I ate a mythical apple last night, by I really am not okay with thinking of you as an animal.” Nico was caring and sweet I loved him.

Renegade Dragon is the fourth book in the Dragon Heat series by Lolita Lopez. I have read two of the three previous books, but think newcomers could enjoy the read without the full back story, but as always knowing a bit more of the mythology and about the main players always helps. The previous books are Dead Sexy Dragon, Red Hot Dragon, and Wicked Dark Dragon.

When her best friend goes missing during Spring Break, bio-engineering student Eris Jones refuses to believe Ivy is dead and follows the trail of clues to a mysterious, secluded estate. Locked away in the lair beneath his home, dragon shifter Niko Drakon suffers terribly from a massive overdose of a synthetic drug that forces his body into the mating heat. When her sweet, alluring scent hits him, Niko's dragon overtakes him and he breaks free from his bonds. Captured by the snarling, winged creature, Eris thinks she must be hallucinating when her touch transforms him into a human male-a dangerously sexy and highly seductive male. After one taste of Eris, Niko realizes a single week will never be enough. He wants her forever by his side and in his bed. But convincing the human to take a chance on a dragon won't be easy and suddenly Niko is faced with the hardest choice in his centuries of life.

Renegade Dragon is a high action, and entertaining read. I like that Eris an independent, smart woman. I did not like her immediate acceptance to Nico and all the weird that goes along with having eaten a mythical apple and being chased down by a dragon slash man after having broken into his house in search of her missing best friend. Yes, mates and pheromones, and mystical whatever, but there was no real adjustment or freaking out, or anything. she just kind of goes with it even after all hell breaks loose. That always bothers me. Not that I want a woman (or man for that matter) to freak out and get hysterical, but some actual concerns or safety attempts might be a better option than sleeping with the random dragon guy. Just saying. Niko is a good guy, a bit one dimensional but it has been so long since I have read anything from the series that I have forgotten any previous knowledge of his character and why he had himself locked in a dungeon while pumped full of a synthetic drug that strengthened his urge to mate- which strikes me as a really bad idea- but I am reasonably certain there must have been a reason. Once you get past logic and desire to survive, the story is a lot of fun. It is high action, with some high drama moments. The inclusion of a bit of mythology was fun, and I liked the touch of science as well. A good read for staying warm on a snow day, which is when I read it.

Renegade Dragon is a good paranormal romance, but the insta-love and acceptance that is so important in getting mates together her, and the shrugging off all the weird is what makes the series less than perfect for me. Great for a hot weekend read, but not a series that I would hunt down or re read.

Renegade Dragon is the fourth book in the Dragon Heat series by Lolita Lopez. The Dragon Heat series is an adult paranormal romance series. This was the first book I have read from this series, and I think that might have been a mistake. I wasn't lost of anything, and I do believe that each of the books can be read as a standalone, however; I think I would have enjoyed the story more if I was not new to the world.

I liked the idea of Nike protecting a special apple tree, but again I am not sure if this is a new addition to the series or if this tree and the apples played a role in previous stories. It seemed to be very very important but I couldn't tell what the background was. I really liked Niko, even though he was a little overbearing at time. Act first explain later, which would have really gotten on my nerves. Nike and Eris are sucked into a very quickly progressing whirlwind romance. I enjoyed reading about it but it was all a little rushed for me. Maybe it was the short length of the book, which ended up feeling like a novella or maybe it was because I didn't have much invested in the characters, I'm not sure.

Overall, I liked Renegade Dragon but I didn't love it. I think fans of the series will find Renegade Dragon to be a good installment, but I would not recommend starting with this book. Start with book one and read this series in order. It is what I wish I had done.If you are looking for a quick shifter romance, this might hit the spot for you. I prefer full length novels, which I have found are hard to find in the shifter arena. If you know of a good full length dragon novel, please let me know in the comments. I would love to check it out!

Review:

Everything in this short story happened at full speed...action, romance and mating.

This supernatural tale of dragons and their mates maybe on the short side story length-wise but there is lots going on in a short amount of time. It does make some things a little slim on the believe-ability scale but I was entertained and went with it. This is short so I won't giveaway the entire story. I will say it was well-written, fast-paced and kept me engaged from beginning to end. I do kind of wish this story was more full-length, I think there could have been so much more done with Niko and Eris, especially Eris' new abilities. This is book number four in the series and leaves off where the last one ended. It can be totally read as a stand-alone though.

Super sexy dragon tale.

I'm going to take a moment to remind everyone, just in case you can't figure it out, that this IS a paranormal romance. There are some unnatural themes, insta-love, death-defying moments, magic, yadda yadda. And you have to be OK with that to enjoy it ... I see a lot of people getting annoyed or making fun of these kinds of stories, but that just means they aren't for you. Know what kind of book it is going in and enjoy the ride, darn it!

~Mini-rant over~

Like with Wicked Dark Dragon, you really need to have read the rest of the series to truly understand what is going on (but they run about $2 each if you are interested). Unlike WDD, though, this one scrimped a bit on the action. I think, like its hero, it is a more mental story - with Eris and Nico getting to know each other (very quickly, back to that insta-love thing, which only works because of the mystical connection they share) and then setting up some future plot lines. There is some fighting and danger at the end but it is a very quick read so it doesn't cover a lot of pages. It's more about the woo woo of their world, bringing Eris in, giving Nico a mate (finally) and working toward the future.

One of the things I appreciate is the free rein that fantasy authors have to create a world that works for them and their characters. Lopez does a good job of coming up with the fantastical but keeping it in check. It doesn't get too outrageous or seem to come out of nowhere. She does a good job of explaining new things as they come up and how it all fits together.

To be truly enjoyed by a distinct audience, Renegade Dragon isn't very long but does well at continuing what the previous books started and nicely sets up what comes next.

When I first heard about this book I was thrilled, I'm a huge fan of this author so when I got the chance to read this book I did not hesitate to dive into the story .I flew through it so fast Renegade Dragon was fantastic

In this book we follow Eris and Niko. I think it's safe to say that these two initially don't meet under the best circumstances . Eris breaks into Niko's house because she's trying to find her best friend and everything that she has found so far lead her to this house , so like I said they don't meet under the best circumstances and lets just say there nothing calm about there very first interaction but something happens that changes things between them and allows them to get closer .If I had to describe this romance in three words they would be sexy ,intoxicating and heart racing and honestly I expect no less from Lolita Lopez, she always delivers excellent romance in her books.I never felt that the romance or story was rushed in anyway and this is not a long book .I found the Dragons so cool, we learn some very interesting facts about the them in this book ,I was never lost any points everything was clearly explained. With the a sizzling hot romance, a fantastic cast of characters and a plot that keeps you wrapped up tightly into Eris and NiKo story and did I forget to mention Dragon shifters ! Lolita Lopez create a fantastic story with Renegade Dragon.

Renegade dragon with a sexy ,thrilling paranormal romance. At the end of this book I felt that Eris and Niko got a perfect ending for there story . I cannot wait to see what Lolita Lopez will write next. If you like all these things in your books I suggest you get a copy

Book Review-Renegade Dragon by Lolita Lopez

Nico Drakon is trapped in his basement trying to withstand the drugs he was given. When a female approaches his estate he is alarmed. He has a tenuous control on his dragon and with the drugs pumping in his blood he fears what could happen. He has no clue who she is or what she wants. He tracks her actions as she walks through his house. Danger sets in when she approaches the sacred tree and picks an apple. His vow to protect the tree overrides his human side. The woman is now his target.
His dragon goes after her. Eris runs when she sees the monster coming for her. She can’t believe she is seeing a dragon. He catches her as she fights to get away. When the dragon turns back into Nico, Eris is completely shocked. Nico is also shocked when he realizes who this woman really is. He has to persuade her to stay as the Knights are closing in.
I like this series and this story was a fast read. Eris was tough and smart. I liked her instantly. She breaks into Nico’s house. She definitely has nerves of steel. Once Nico understands who she is the story heats up. The relationship they have is fast and hot.
When the Knights interrupt their time together, the suspense is kicked up a notch. I wish there was more of it. They meet, discover who they really are and then get attacked. I know the series will continue but I feel this one was really short. I give it a 3.5 out of 5.

The fourth book in author Lolita Lopez’s Dragon Heat series, Renegade Dragon is a fun and entertaining paranormal romance read. This is a new to me author so I had no idea what to expect, writing style wise, but I really enjoyed the story. The writing was great, the characters engaging, and the storyline was fun. Maybe because it’s been a while since I read a paranormal romance, but this one made me smile with how much I enjoyed reading it.

When Eris trespasses on private mansion property in search of her best friend who went missing while on vacation, the last thing she expects to run into is a real life dragon. A dragon who is as pissed off as much as the man he transforms into is turned on, and Eris is helpless to fight the pull she feels toward Niko.

I loved the banter between Eris and Niko. It was really well done for such a short word count, and all of it was interesting and perfectly crafted to display the irritation and confusion as well as the chemistry between the characters.

If you’re looking for a short paranormal romance read that’s as fun as it is engaging, as hot as it is sweet, Renegade Dragon by Lolita Lopez definitely fits the bill. It’s a great blend of all the things I love about paranormal romance and I enjoyed reading it a lot.

I really enjoyed Wicked Dark Dragon, so I was looking forward to reading Renegade Dragon and it did not disappoint! I was happy to see Nico get his story and I couldn't have asked for anything more. It was fantastic and I had such a good time reading Renegade Dragon!

Eris and Nico are an awesome hero/heroine duo - I loved both of them! Nico is everything I love for my heroes to be: protective, sweet, sexy, and possessive. And Eris is just the bomb! She's strong and sassy and brave and fierce. She has a huge personality and every part of it shined through and I completely love her for it!

Renegade Dragon is a fast-paced, action-packed read full of passion, heat, and adrenaline. It will take your breath, stop your heart, and make your blood race. I totally loved this book and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

Renegade Dragon can be read as a standalone, it's told from Nico and Eris' POV, and even though they are solid, you will definitely be left wanting more of this Dragon Heat series at the end of this book!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This short read was jam packed with dragon-y smutty goodness. While you don’t have to read any other books in the series first, it would probably give you a better understanding of the world you’re diving into.

Eris Jones is on a mission to rescue her missing friend. Some illegal hacking has given her the first clue – that Ivy is on some secluded property. Niko never expected a fellow dragon to break into his house, so his wards were not exactly set up that way. His safeguards aren’t really an issue until she wanders into his back yard and bites one of the golden apples. Eris appears to have been the level-headed friend to Ivy until confronted with the alluring apples. Everything in her should be screaming at her to stop, but the draw is too strong.

When Nico and Eris meet face-to-dragon-snout the magic truly begins. These two are wonderfully reluctant fated mates. Watching the balance between the scientists in both of them to the lovey-dovey couple was entertaining and engaging. While the story was short, it felt like a solid installment in the series.

This is my first book that I read by Lolita Lopez, so I can’t really tell you how this book compare to her other titles. But I can tell you that Renegade Dragon though short was a pretty good book. Its book #4 in Lolita Lopez Dragon Heat Series.

When her friend ends open missing, Eris Jones took up the search. However, she didn’t expect for her search to end on the doorstep a mystical beast.

Niko Drakon is dangerous as his name sounds. He’s even more dangerous when a women of beauty came on his property and stole one of his precious apples. Apples that he is sworn to protect.

Renegade Dragon was a very hot, fast pace read. The characters of Niko and Eris was well developed I even got into the plot. Only thing I can really say negative about Renegade Dragon is when the story got really interesting the story just ended like on a cliffhanger.

A sassy heroine and a dragon shifter makes for a great read. This was a short read the the action started from the first page. Because this is a short read be prepared for the insta love and it was hawt.

However this book was not just about the instant attraction. Niko knows there is more to Eris than just being human. As they look for answers to some questions Eris begins to see she is more. There was non stop action in this book. Every page had you on the edge of you seat. Heartache, love, sexy time, angst and shifters make this a great read. I have not read any of the other books and I did not feel lost. I will however be looking into them.

I'm so sorry that I could not like this book. The first few pages failed to draw me in. I love adult paranormal/fantasy books. The writing almost felt cheesy. I did give it a chance. I read up until 30%. I just couldn't get into it. I didn't want to waste my time.

Too short. The book left us with too many unanswered questions. What happened to their leader when got the drug too? Ivy doesn't know her friend came looking for her. The apples and their effects... Again, the storyline was cut off too soon :(
