This book presents a wide variety of reflections by several different women. Most of them are two or three pages long; some are written better than others--but each tells of overcoming obstacles in life, whether in the workplace, in the home, or in dealing with health issues, with suffering and with loss. Some stories left me cold, but others were touching. My favorite is an entry from the author who writes about her father. Each day he asked his children to explain what they had done to justify their existence. There are other thought-provoking questions which he would toss out to engage a very large and dynamic family; questions which I am glad she has shared with us as a base for our own reflections.
